The humanitarian ceasefire is disrupted in Israel
Israel announced that it would enact a unilateral ceasefire to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Of course, Hamas took advantage of that ceasefire to try to infiltrate into Israel through a tunnel with a band of terrorists before the ceasefire took effect. Unfortunately for them, the Israel Defense Forces were watching. From Fox News;
Lerner said the attack “could have had devastating consequences” and said the militants were armed with “extensive weapons,” including rocket-propelled grenades.
The attack was preceded by a volley of 15 rockets fired from Gaza into central Israel. The Times of Israel reported that IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Moti Almoz told Israeli television Channel 2 that the rockets were meant to be “an envelope for this attack.”
“We knew this would come,” Almoz said. “We knew specifically about this tunnel. We knew Hamas would try [to launch a terror attack] in any way it can.”
Video from the IDF YouTube channel;
The aftermath;
During the actual ceasefire, Hamas couldn’t help but fire at Israel, according to the Washington Post;
Just two hours after the five-hour truce began, it was violated by Gaza militants who fired a salvo of mortar rounds into southern Israel. It was not clear whether the mortars came from the Hamas military wing or one of the other, smaller factions.
But, yeah, I don’t have much hope for a ceasefire, but an Israeli delegation arrived in Cairo today;
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday evening met in Cairo with Mousa Abu Marzook, the head of the Hamas political bureau, the Palestinian Maan news agency reported. Abbas is scheduled to visit Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi on Thursday.
Hamas continued to shower rockets Wednesday into southern and central Israel, including Tel Aviv, underscoring the extent to which the militants believe they still have the military capability to persuade Israel to accept their terms, analysts said.
Because they’ve been so successful up until now.

Just more proof that the Isrealis aren’t the problem here. I will say I’m pleasently shocked to see the WashPo is not doing their usual slanted reporting on this. Then again I didn’t read the whole article because I refuse to give them as much as a hit count on their servers.
I am certain Israel knew what was likely to happen and calculated, correctly, that violation of the humanitarian ceasefire by Hamas would be condemned by most people. When asked for his reaction to the violation, Obama responded, “Tough hole. Um, hand me the pitching wedge.”
This morning it was “FOUR PALESTINIAN BOYS TRAGICALLY KILLED IN ISRAELI AIR STRIKE”…. much later almost in a whisper “oh, and Palestinians launched rockets at Israel during a U-brokered cease-fire.
It’s obvious to anyone with more brain cells than VWP (OK, that’s everyone) that Hamas is cynically getting their people killed to draw international condemnation on Israel.
The only other possible explanation is that they just love being butthurt by picking a fight with someone who is much, much better at it than they are. This ain’t “Cool Hand Luke” – more like “You’re not just out here for the hunting, are you?”
Read a good article by Mark Steyn, a writer for National Review amongst others. He says that anti Semitism is running rampant in Europe right now and is becoming almost as bad in the states. This is due to an influx of Muslims to many European countries and the historical aversion of Europe to Jews.
In fact, one of his points was that this is one of the only things that Europeans and immigrant Muslims can agree on. Israel is castigated for defending its territory and every Palestinian death is breathlessly reported, meanwhile French forces have rolled into many countries in Africa and the U.S. is killing Pakistani’s with drone strikes again and it barely receives any coverage at all.
Through all of this, I must say, I admire Israeli restraint. They walk a fine line of trying to defend their territory while suppressing the urge to unleash hell on the mob in Gaza.
Can’t wait for Israel to get blamed for the rockets and tunnel. Even though they initiated a unilateral ceasefire. Can’t wait to hear from VWP and Hussar on this one.
VWP will blame America for supporting the Jews and Hussar will claim it’s a plot by Israel because the Palestinians aren’t technologically advanced enough to launch rockets.
The Israeli’s have indeed shown some restraint, a cease fire with Hamas is a lot like dinner with Hannibal Lechter. You know that crazy bastard is going to try and eat you, it’s not a matter of if but when.
Unlike other victims however the Israeli’s don’t wait for it, they prepare and defend against it. Every time I see a dead Palestinian kid I think rather cynically that there is one less future Hamas or Martyr Brigade killer to take up arms. Killing those who would kill you along with their children isn’t a terrible thing, it’s an evolutionary requirement if you prefer your genes to prosper instead of being eliminated.
It’s just math, more dead Palestinians means more opportunity for peace and success for Israel. I would prefer a middle east controlled by the Israelis than the muslims…it would be stable and prosperous with no international entanglements.
I know that makes me a racist to some for not caring about dead muslims, but I no longer care about those who would kill me or my countrymen and those who sit idly by and watch or cheer from the sidelines.
VOV…Agree 100%. If it makes me racist, then so be it. I am worn with the “religion of peace” argument. Many European nations no longer support Israel. Mainly because they opened their doors to Muslim immigration and now, from fear of that populace, they find the only way to appease them is to get on the “death to Israel” train right along with them. Their fault for letting their country become infested with Muslims who do not want France, England or any other nation to live as they are but to ultimately live under Muslim control and Sharia Law if possible.
Troops in the open. Fire for effect.
Because Israelis acknowledge and understand first hand the Muslim concept of Taqiyya.
The Israeli government has now ordered the ground offensive to start.

“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

My friends and their families are under fire. They live north and east of Tel Aviv. When rockets fly in their direction, sirens sound and they run to shelters. For them this happens once or twice a day. A co-worker was walking his dog and set pictures of Iron Dome firing near his house. People who live within 20 miles of Gaza have it much worse.

I have several more like this, but I don’t want to REALLY piss off anyone. I also have some links showing roof knocking and a couple of apartment building disassembly exercises.
I am having a difficult time with all of this, I am not like those people so I just don’t get it.
My sympathies to your friends and family.
Where does it go from here? I am fed up with the politically correct crap that infects every aspect of this world.
Thanks Ex.
I just read that the US believes that airliner was shot down. The pieces fell east of Donetsk. My closest coworker was born and raised in Donetsk. He is 100% Ukrainian so the situation there is tough for him.
TV for Palestinian kids. I suggest that before watching these you put away firearms and move heavy things out of reach.

Roof knocking – proof that high explosives effectively solve a certain class of problem and that the Israelis are trying to avoid unnecessary casualties.

Islam may be a religion of peace, but it has been hijacked by those who twist it to preach war.
Judaism is a religion that preaches peace, but if you get out of hand, preaches that you and your family, and your pets, and your house, and your belongings, are to be completely destroyed. It’s in the Bible, Qu’ran, and Torah; look it up.
