The man told police that Grimes then pulled a gun on the man and told him to get on the ground. At the same time, the man’s father got out of their pickup to check on his son, according to the affidavit. When Grimes turned his attention to the father, the man pulled a pistol out of his pocket and got off four shots, police said.

Bullets struck Grimes, who fled, police said. The man and his family hurried back to Saginaw and called police. Grimes also called police from a different location. He said he had been shot twice by an unknown man. He was hospitalized.
