Saturday Morning Feel Good Stories

Chief Tango sends us three feel good stories for your morning coffee. The first is from Gig Harbor, WA where a man drove down a long driveway with his truck, ignored the homeowner and walked into the man’s house;

The man’s wife and children were inside the house. Police say the man kept going and went in the front door; the homeowner fired one shot and hit the man in the back. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma.

Detectives spent hours investigating and collecting evidence. They were working to find out who the man is and why he went to the house in the first place. The homeowner told deputies he did not recognize the man.

In Tampa, a couple came home after a night out and they were followed into their house by another couple;

The couple entered the home, located at 1804 24th Ave., after the two victims returned home at around 8:45 p.m.

Inside the home there was a confrontation and the homeowner armed himself with a handgun and shot the male suspect, police said. The man — who police later said has a history of mental illness — and woman both ran out of the house.

Police found the male suspect not far from the home. He was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Police didn’t release a description of the female suspect.

The third story is from Tennessee where two youths thought that it would be easy to turn their lives around with the proceeds from a jewelry store where the owner was in a wheelchair, they found out differently;

The Alcoa Police Department says two suspects went inside the the store. While one suspect was asking about merchandise, the other jumped the store’s counter and ran to a backroom.

Alcoa PD Detective Kris Sanders said both suspects then tried to leave with some money. The store’s owner then shot one of the men in the stomach area with a handgun.

Sanders said authorities arrived to the scene within minutes of the incident. He said they then arrested the two suspects inside the store.

“Everybody has a gun permit nowadays,” Sanders said. “So, I don’t think it’s safe to assume you’re going to go into a business where there’s not a weapon.”

From the Blount County Daily Times, the store owner got the attention of the other two fellows after he shot the first and was able to hold them in the store until police arrived.
