Jeff Duncan vs John Kerry
Congressman Jeff Duncan, Republican from South Carolina confronts John Kerry and highlights the point that the loss of American lives in Benghazi and in the Fast & Furious scandals gives Americans pause when contemplating the use of military force in Syria;
From The Blaze;
“Bottom line is there’s a need for accountability and trust-building from the administration,” he said. “The administration has a credibility issue.”
“Mr. Kerry, your predecessor asked, ‘What difference does it make now?’” he continued, referring then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s infamous hearing outburst earlier this year. “Well, this is the difference, Mr. Secretary.”
“These issues call into question the accountability of this administration,” Duncan said. “Its commitment to the personnel on the ground, and the judgment that it uses when, making these determinations. The American people deserve answers before they move forward talking about military involvement in Syria.”
Of course, Kerry falls back on his three months in Vietnam with a videographer;
Secretary Kerry was not amused with Duncan’s line of questioning and responded by citing his and his colleagues’ (i.e. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Gen. Martin Dempsey) service records.
[…]
He added, visibly annoyed: “We’re talking about people being killed by gas and you want to go talk about Benghazi and Fast and Furious!”
No, John Kerry, we want answers to questions about AMERICANS who were killed in Benghazi and Fast & Furious before we send more AMERICANS into a civil war that doesn’t concern us. Certainly, the deaths of SYRIANS by the use of chemical weapons is horrible, but it no way justifies the death of even one AMERICAN to punish the people who haven’t yet been proven to my mind to be responsible for those horrible deaths.
This administration hasn’t been forthcoming in answering questions in the deaths of Americans in the past, so how can we trust them to send more Americans into harm’s way. I know we have at least one reader out there who can pass along our appreciation personally to Congressman Duncan, it’s abotu time someone started holding these people’s feet to the fire. And anytime John Kerry hides behind the events in Vietnam that are seared into his Swiss cheese memory is a wonderful time.

The Emporer has stated quite emphatically that it is not his credibility in question… so move along now, nothing to see here.
“…The last refuge of a liberal scumbag is his made-up war record…”
BTW…fuck off, kerry, go back to Paris and stay there…
Q: “how can we trust them to send more Americans into harm’s way?”
A: We can’t.
Jeff Duncan’s questions are valid, but someone should have smoke checked Hillary when they had the chance instead of accepting her “What difference does it make?!” response. We all saw John McCain sit there dumbfuddled, and the rest of the committee didn’t do squat. It’s past time to be asking the hard questions. The minute the nation gets close to information about one debacle or catastrophe, another one pops up.
It’s time to clean house and start holding people accountable.
Hey, I know! We go to the nearest Army/Navy surplus store, buy up those medals that kerry threw over the White House fence, bleach them a little to age them, roll them in some dirt, and mail them to him with a note that say:
Dear John:
Are these yours? Found them when I was gardening.
Smooches, kiddo

John Kerry testimony before Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee:
“In our opinion, and from our experience, there is nothing in [Fill in country name], nothing which could happen that realistically threatens the United States of America. And to attempt to justify the loss of one American life in [Fill in country name] by linking such loss to the preservation of freedom, which those misfits supposedly abuse is to us the height of criminal hypocrisy….”
Yeah, you probably guessed it. The name of the country is not Syria but Vietnam and the date Kerry gave that testimony was 22 April 1971.
Maybe the Congressman can ask him, since it involves his Vietnam service, about his own credibility by having an unsanctioned meeting with the enemy in Paris while still an officer in the United States Navy?
John F-ing Kerry (did you know he served in Vietnam?) shows his anger when confronted with questions he doesn’t want to answer, just like a good little commie, much like Clinton a few months back.
Testing. I posted something here 20 or 30 mins ago and I can’t see it. At least I know it’s safe somehere in an NSA computer. Yeah, I hit refresh and killed the cookies/history. If I live to be 100, I’ll never understand why bthis stuff happens.
Well, hell, there it is. I’m anonymous, cmt 6.
Here’s 1971 Kerry denouncing America’s “moralistic” foreign policy.

My idiot which passes for a Congresswoman (Carol Shea-Porter) is about as easy to nail down as Jello, but deep down, she’s nothing more than a rubber stamp for Pelosi/Reid/Obama.
And she’s going to hear about it from me. And so will the candidates who run against her next year.
Better get your resume updated, Carol–ain’t no amount of union/PAC money and slime gonna save your ass this time.
Aw, no Christmas in Cambodia?
Does he really want to include Dempsey in his attempt to substantiate this horseshit action? Yeah, no bueno.

There is nothing in Syria to justify the loss of a single Texas grenadier. (Via Otto von Bismarck.)
2/17 AirCav, if you clear your browser history, you have to re-enter everything from scratch.
Otherwise, that poor dumb machine doesn’t know who you are.
I would like to know why no one gets confrontational with these lying jerks? Why did no one take Hillary to task when she said ‘What difference does it make’?
These people are answerable for what they’ve done. If they weren’t, Nixon wouldn’t have been fired. (Don’t start.) They aren’t immune or above the law.
Nobody took her to task because she’s (for now) the presumptive 2016 Democrat candidate. And if you want any access to her administration–and trust me, she can be incredibly vindictive and has an incredibly long memory–you’re not going to publicly piss in her Wheaties.
YMMV.
The Senate is not called the world’s most exclusive club for nothing. And it is a club, not unlike the best private country clubs. No one wants to make another member uncomfortable or, heaven help us, cause another member embarrassment. Televised hearings are for show and nothing more. When a former club member testifies, it’s all kid gloves and kisses. Still, both questioners and member testifiers do find a way to embarass themselves. What’s interesting with THIS administration is that obamaman and his lackies openly thumb their noses at the ‘polite process’ and show outright contempt and disdain for Congress generally.
You know…with Republicans like McCain, we sure don’t need Democrats.
John Kerry is such a repugnant, patronizing pile of human excrement it makes me physically ill
Good comments, all!
Something great is in the South Carolina water! Joe Wilson, Trey Gowdy, Jim DeMint, Tim Scott, and now Jeff Duncan!
Colorado is sadly lacking in our US reps.
@4 – During other testimony on Benghazi, Trey Gowdy, a tough prosecutor, went after her:
So if anyone wants to know what difference does it make, anyone wants to ask what difference does it make, it always matters whether or not you can trust your government. And to the families, we’re gonna find out what happened in Benghazi, and I don’t give a damn whose career is impacted. We’re going to find out what happened.

He’s been pretty consistent in his efforts to get to the bottom of what happened in Benghazi.
@22 – Not picking on you, but it’s been ALMOST a full year that Benghazi happened, and I’m not hearing anything but crickets. I’m not convinced Trey Gowdy, nor anyone else for that matter, has any interest in resolving that issue.
I fail to see anything consistent happening in D.C., except for the obvious B.S. everyone else sees.
#23 USMCE8Ret: there are a lot of lies surrounding Benghazi, and each lie worse than the last. What we do know is 4 Americans were killed, the State Department is still lying about it, and there was prior message coordination between State and the Muslim Brotherhood speaking on behalf of the AQ unit carrying out the raid. And, Petraeus was exposed as an adulterer shortly after making the claim that the CIA was not involved.
All politicians are assholes. Some are dirty and stink all the time; others only on occasion. But each is an asshole. Give me a statesman. What we need are people who have a high dose of humility, gratitude, integrity, and a heartfelt aim to do their best for their district or state while also avoiding harm to the nation.
Did you know that John Kerry was in Vietnam?
