Yo, Mister Mayor – I Got Yer Breakfast Right Here!
Dunkin’ Donuts has announced it’s adding a fried egg and bacon on glazed donut breakfast sandwich to its breakfast menu. According to the Dunkin’ Donuts website, the new sandwich will be available starting Friday, 7 June – National Donut Day. It is to become a permanent part of the Dunkin’ Donuts breakfast menu.
There was no immediate comment noted from Mayor Bloomberg of NYC.
I wonder if they’ll call it a “Bloomie” in Manhattan? (smile)

Fried egg and bacon on a glazed donut?
Oh, TEARS, TEARS, I tell you! Tears for the poor glazed donut!!
Just the thought is eeeeeww!
I can feel my arteries clogging already, and yet I still want one
Ex-PH2: kinda my reaction too. I’d prefer the egg and bacon on a bagel, croissant, or biscuit instead.
But I’d consider having a couple sent to Bloomie’s office anyway – just to piss him off. (smile)
I think I just threw up in my mouth. Why would you f@ck up a good glazed donut like that!
I’ve seen similar before, and then McD’s has the McGriddles. But yeah, I’d be happier with the bagel or croissant.
But I do likes me some DD hash browns.
I’ve actually had this and it’s damn tastey. The egg isn’t runny and it actually works with the glazed donut.
Oh, and Sparks–now I remember where I saw that before:

Best thing I ever tried: Glazed donut bacon cheeseburger.
Saw it on one of the foodie shows, from a farm-league baseball park.
Glazed donut split and turned inside out, with a 1/4 pound beef burger, cheese and bacon. I made them. My son-in-law and I ate them.
We regret nothing. The sweetness of the glaze mingling with the beefy cheesy goodness and BACON were just straight-up heaven.
They make this on Texas toast….bread was meant for this, not glazed donuts…that’s wrong on every level…
In other News. Hundreds of New York doctors this morning rushed to the Medical Board to change their specialty to Cardiology. A spokesman for the board said “We normally get two or three applications for change a year. Our system is totally clogged”.
I don’t see a problem here(?)
Oh, YES! Must try this. May only take one, but simply must have the experience.
Hmmm. Wonder where there is a Dunkin’ Donut!
OWB…I’ve seen Starbucks shut down in my town. Never seen it happen to a DD. We have SEVEN here.
SEVEN. In a town of barely 30K.
I look at this as the breakfast pastry equivalent of the KFC Double Down…sounds disgusting, but everyone needs to try one at least once.
Oh how I miss the KFC Double Down.
There is the sugary glazed goodness of the donut. There is the salty, meaty, tastiness of the egg/bacon. These two things should not be defiled by combining them. It is unholy! Death to the nonbelievers! Repent!
I’m not drooling, my taste buds weep.
Well, Sparky, it looks like I am SOL – no DD within an easy drive. And, no, I am NOT driving to NH for one either!
Well, maybe. It DOES look awfully good!
@9 Thank you and thank you again. It is just wrong. Makes the Earth stop turning because my stomach can turn for it.
It’s kind of like my mother putting jam on her scrambled eggs at breakfast. It takes some getting used to.
Even if it’s wrong and unholy. I’d try even one, just for the experience, even if my arteries turn to cement. just to thumb my nose in Nanny Bloomin’idiot’s face.
I’ll have to look for a DD REAL SOON.
I see a sandwich that is about a half pound short on bacon!
This has absolutely nothing on about half the stuff served at Voodoo Doughnuts.
A waffle taco anyone?

Sounds like a perfect treat for stoners. D&D’s in Colorado will be booming.
