Give ’em an inch…
As I wrote yesterday, the attempt to clean up after the filthy hippies in New York’s Occupy Wall Street protests was cancelled in order to keep the confrontation from becoming violent. Code Pink celebrated their victory of basic cleanliness;
So, in thanks for avoiding a confromtation, the gilthy hippies immediately started marching towards Wall Street carrying the brooms they should have used to clean their living space. Still dancing and celebrating their victory over sanitation, scores of them were arrested for disorderly conduct.
So i wonder if wishy-washy Bloomberg learned that he can’t concede anything, even the slightest concession to these cruddy creatures.
And I’m so proud of my Alma Mater, SUNY Oswego, Which has begun n “Occupy Oswego” protest, organized, of course, by the professors. Perhaps now you understand why I hated my college experience, surrounded by the downstate NYer liberals who were only at Oswego for the annual pub crawl.
Category: Code Pink, I hate hippies

We have a similar situation going on in Atlanta. The mayor told the protestors they would have until Monday at 5 PM to clear out and then he would take action. Some idiot at the Occupy Atlanta thought it would be a good idea to go storm the Emory University Hospital for some reason linked to a homeless shelter which is still really unclear. Shortly afterwards the mayor said folks we are going to clean the park from 10 – 4 on Saturday so of course when it comes to cleaning the occupy crowd can unify around that concept and are planning to resist.
Another little sidelight I discovered last night is that apparently their is a new competition between South Carolina and Georgia over who has the stupidest protestors, #occupycolumbia or #occupyatlanta . I am not sure what the clowns in Columbia have done that would even put them in the same category as Atlanta, the site which denied a civil rights icon the chance to speak. choked off rush hour traffic to picket at a Bank of America branch looking for a CEO only to discover the BofA HQ’s are in NC and NY, and then yesterday storming a hospital putting real people at risk contrary to their claim that no one was in danger. Oh and don’t forget the chanting. That god damn chanting where they repeated everything a speaker said.
I challenge anybody to match the stupid on display in Atlanta.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see a surge in instances of the plague with these idiots. Amazingly enough it still exists.
We, in the upstate of SC almost had an occupy something. I think 30 people showed up on Thurs. One woman said “It’s the system that’s evil and the problem. I believe most people want to create a society where everyone has enough and no one is is in need. Is that too much to ask in a world that is as rich as ours and in the richest country in the world?”
I think I remember hearing that before. Don’t they call that Marxism or Communism, or something? I could be wrong.
Well, there is going to be a showdown, of sorts, here in Minneapolis today. The reason I say “of sorts” is because the occupy crowd wants to put up tents, since it’s starting to feel like fall around here, finally, and they were told from the beginning that they couldn’t do it. The latest news report, this morning, said it was going to be a “tense standoff”, but then in the next breathe said that the police wouldn’t be arresting anyone for putting up tents and that they would just be removed. Well, if there are no consequences for disobeying the lawful orders, other than losing your Hello Kitty $20 tent, then what’s the use of even telling them they can’t do so? It’s like all the law enforcement and city/county administrations have lost their spines for doing their fricken job. I know if any other group would attempt to do something like this, they would be rounded up quickly for breaking the rules.
I guess it depends on what side of the political spectrum you’re on as to whether they will enforce the rules.
“I guess it depends on what side of the political spectrum you’re on as to whether they will enforce the rules.” Bingo, OT. I do believe you’ve nailed it. Of course, the mayors of most cities are, if not active Flea Baggers, sympatico, so they do have a vested interest in seeing the “occupations” succeed.
Well R.T. Rybak, mayor of Minneapolis is a democrat, and most, if not all, the county commissioners are left as well (this is the Peoples Republik of North Berkley, after all), so you are correct in your analysis.
I considered driving by Occupy Atlanta yesterday for the pleasure of flipping them the bird. However, after teaching a class at Georgia State, I was late and had to get to WORK – something these idiots know nothing about. I am so glad I live outside the city lines and don’t have to take any responsability for Kassim and the idiots downtown.
You know an interesting question. They want, and expect that the rich will give up (or have taken) most of their wealth. So if we are the richest country in the world, are we going to be expected and demanded to give up (or have taken) most of OUR wealth as a nation as well?
Now, if I am understanding the language of the NY OWS reports, that park they’re occupying sounds as if it is PRIVATE PROPERTY. Am I right or wrong on this?
If it IS a private property park, then the owner(s) should be able to kick out the nasty filthy vermin hippies who infest the park so that it can be kept clean. If not for personal pride, then for at least public sanitation & limiting the spread of disease. And the subsequent fines from such uncleanliness.
So say I, of the 52% who are employed and paying taxes for the “99%” to collect their entitlements.
Problem is, the company which owns the park (Brookfield Properties) got a sweet little loan deal from the Obama administration for a wind farm up here in NH, so don’t expect them to rock the boat anytime soon.
