Fake CSM McAndreis/Anderson

| May 15, 2011

Ok I am going to start off with one that just caught my eye. Here we have a poser pretending to be a CSM with high rated awards such as the Silver Star, Soldier’s Medal. The Purple Heart, CIB, Ranger and SF tabs are there too. But I would like to know were he got the idea that any unit in the 3rd ID was airborne.

It seems he was spotted over at Fake Scots Titles It was originally was due to the fact that this person was also pretending to be a Clan Chief.

Primarily ‘Fake Scots Titles’ endeavours to expose those using Scots Titles they are not at liberty to use. However, during our investigations into the Fake Chief, Calum McAndreis/Anderson, we became suspicious of his claims of being a Command Sergeant Major with a Distinguished Service Cross & Legion of Merit – “Calum Anderson DSC, LOM

Also they have asked that anyone in the US military reply to help detail what the errors are and help build a case against him.

We would now welcome comments from those who know more about such matters than we do here in Scotland. We find it difficult to understand how someone born in 1959 could possibly be entitled to the insignia and medals being worn in this photograph some of with relate to the Vietnam War. Mr McAndreis’ arms also seem to have shrunk since retiring from the US military.

We have been informed that he also proudly displays in his home signed and personalised certificates relating to the above awards. A search of the internet leads us to believe that such certificates are a great deal easier to obtain than one might have thought possible in such serious and emotive circumstances – http://www.military-certificates.com/ARMY_Awards.htm

This information has now been made available to the 3rd Infantry Division, US Army, for their investigation and comment. Anyone else wishing to contribute to this enquiry is welcome to submit their insight either in confidence by contacting Fake Scots Titles or publicly on this page.

Love the comment about the shrinking arms.

Jonn Added: I blew up the decorations. I don’t know what branch insignia he’s wearing, but it certainly doesn’t justify the blue Infantry cord. And I don’t know how he figures he gets to add his rank and duty status to his name plate. WTF is up w/the Kuwait Liberation Medal on the bottom row all by it’s lonesome?

Let’s see……..
1) Isn’t that green, white, red, and black ribbon on the very bottom for service during Gulf War 1? Vietnam era and GW1. Seems a bit youngish to have ribbons from both.

2) An Infantry cord but not the brass to match? It’s possible he switched MOS’s. Most likely he’s a REMF wannabe.

I’m not at home where I could pull this asshats story apart but I do believe enough people here will do that.

NHSparky

And is it just me or do I NOT see any Army Good Conduct Medals? Just wondering. And wreathed star on his jump wings? Oh, this shit just gets better and better.

You know you’re a piss-poor phony when a squid can call your shit out.

cakmakli

1. He has his rank on his Garrison Cap instead of unit insignia

2. No unit insignia on his uniform jacket

3. What’s on his name tag? He has two lines

4. Can’t really tell but it doesn’t look like he is wearing a Regimental Crest. Looks like he only has foreign jump wings.

cakmakli

Like 11B says, he has an Infantry Blue Cord but not the blue disks or the crossed rifles on his brass. If he changed MOS’s the Blue Cord comes off. It also comes off if he still holds an Infantry MOS but is not currently serving in a Infantry Unit or as a Recruiter, Drill Sergeant, or an Instructor

Frankly Opinionated

The wings are Master Blaster,US type, but first time I have ever seen rank on a C#@t cap, and an AG-44 Jacket that is not tailored to sleeve length. 6 hash marks on his sleeve? Is that not 36+ months in combat? I will see if I can run his name through my Friends who are Rangers, for the laughs only.
His collar insignia looks to me like that of a Cannon Cocker, but he has the infantry rope. I tried to bring the size up in Photoshop, but it is a very low res photo.

Well, we know his Nam tab is out…This slick is younger than me, Vietnam my ass heh! I personally know of one man that is no longer with us that earned the Vietnam ribbons, medals, PH (65-67), NCO schools yada yada and GW-1 ribbons.

The man that was originally issued this Class A was bigger built after looking at it enlarged. His pants don’t fit right either, lmao! Your right, Sparky. Pretty damn good for “squid”, lol.

It appears that several retired US Army vets are on to this asshat too.

streetsweeper

Forgot, Good job Sporkmaster! Hooah!

I found a photo of somewhat higher resolution, and can see some sort of insignia on his epaulets, and believe that the nametag has his name on the top row, and “CSM Retired”, on the bottom row. I have forwarded this link to a Scot, (genuine clansman), who, I believe, would love to eat this guy’s lunch. We will see what it produces. While in the 506th/101st Abn, 1960-62, I wore the French Fourreguerre, (splng), I believe because of WW-II service by the unit. Would the 3ID have been awarded it as well? What about placement of the Master Wings? Some kind of wings n ribbons on the right chest? Huh?

cakmakli

Frankly Opinionated.

A Hash Mark on the left sleeve is for 3 years of service. A Hash Mark on the right sleeve is for 6 months in a combat zone. According to this he has at least 18 but less then 21 years of service.

cakmakli

And as a CSM he should have a NCO Professional Development Ribbon with a 4. One each for PLDC (or in his case PLC), BNCOC, ANCOC, and the Sergeant’s Major Course.

This scumbag is fake and I’m done wasting my time with him. Shoot him and get him out of his misery. I’m sorry but these guys really piss me off. I busted my ass for 26 years to get what I have and all they do is lay down a credit card and they get to play hero. F them.

1AirCav69

He also has the VNSM and the VCM reversed. No Glider Patch on his C@#T Cap. I didn’t know any Paratrooper that wouldn’t have that beloved patch on. National Defense, (I’m in the Army Ribbon) should also be after his ARCOM. There isn’t a SGTMAJ in the world that wouldn’t know the order of his ribbons. Fake for sure.

Would love to see his right sleeve patch….no, never mind, probably 1st Cav.

NHSparky

cakmakli–Looks like it says, “CSM Retired” on the second line of his nametag–and a very non-standard font, although Navy nametags on working whites/blues or jumpers can use a “command” nametag which can vary quite a bit, but no nametag is authorized for full dress uniform (whites or blues). Don’t know if that also applies for Army.

And WTF is he doing wearing a mini-DSC on his fucking TIE? Seriously? On what planet does this guy think he’s going to put one over on anybody but a blind ri-tard? This guy looks like one of the dipshit recruits fresh from Friday “Pass-In-Review” who bought a bunch of shit from the guys outside the gate at 22nd Street or the train station in North Chicago, hoping to score some tail, not realizing that the Company Commanders are standing right out there, ready to rip that shit off and send the offending boot back to RTC sans liberty.

I especially love the Special Forces/Ranger/Airborne tabs. Almost makes up for the 1st Cav patch if one isn’t there, but you almost KNOW it’s there somewhere.

I took this link over to my friends the “Ranger Instructors” at FB and got this comment:
Jeff Pace said: There are SO many issues with this clown’s uniform that it would take a legal pad, a good pencil and a sharpener to record them all. The guys posting on this blog have just gotten started good identifying them all.
Will bring the rest as I get them.

NHSparky

Did a quick search. Only 1 person with name of Anderson awarded DSC from Vietnam or beyond, and that was August 1971. I’m kinda doubting this guy pulled it off when he was all of 12 years old.

Frankly Opinionated

#9 cakmakli, thanx, been a loooong time on the block. Got the sleeve sides mixed up. Yes, diagonal are 3 yr stripes, small horozontal are the 6 mos stripes.
HEY Y’ALL!!!! Have I told you this week- Thank you for your service?

Bobo

No Army service ribbon or desert storm ribbon, unit awards out of order, DSC tie tack (guess he couldn’t find the ribbon on E-bay), name plate AFU, he mounted the ribbons on a left justified ribbon bar, then put the bar on upside down, fourragere worn incorrectly (none of it should be on the outside of the arm, it all goes under your arm unless you were in the unit when awarded. My guess is that asshat wasn’t in WW I when it was awarded to the 3ID).

Nevyan

1. Epaulets- He is wearing miniature brass “Ranger” Diamonds in place of a DUI. Also no Regimental Affiliation on the Right side of the uniform.

2. Personal Awards (Left Side) Awards out of order/missing awards usually found at this paygrade (E-9). He is wearing the following order- Silver Star, Soldiers Medal, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Kuwait Liberation Medal. Also note he is wearing a miniature Distinguished Service Cross on his tie. Correct order would be DSC, SS, SM, BSM, PH, MSM, ARCOM, NDSM, VSM, RVNCM, KLM.

3. Unit Awards (Right Side) out of order. Should be Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation. He is also wearing the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm which is an individual award worn on the Left side of the uniform. The other three orders of the award are unit awards worn on the right side of the uniform.

4. Not wearing infantry accoutrement such as blue disks.

5. The French Fouragere is a French Unit Citation worn by all members of the unit receiving it. Soldiers assigned to 3rd Infantry Division may wear the Fouragere while assigned to the 3rd ID the same as they would wear PUC, VUC or MUC while at the unit. Wearing the Fouragere over the sleeve denotes being assigned to the unit when it was awarded the citation. He is a WEEEEEEEE BIT YOUNG to be wearing the Fouragere that way.

6. 3rd Infantry Division Airborne! All the way…to the PX!

Best!

BohicaTwentyTwo

It looks like he has a SF tab on both shoulders. I’m not sure what he has on his lapel, but it is not a branch insignia. It almost looks like buttons. He also has something on the epaulets, but its not a unit insignia or rank.

Eleven_Bravo

Just a clarification for Cak…….. If u are awarded the Infantry cord and disks u only have to remove the blue backing disks from your brass if u change MOS. U are authorized to wear the cord on your dress uniform for life no matter your new MOS. Just an FYI.

cakmakli

Not according to AR 670-1 Para 28-30a(4).

http://www.apd.army.mil/pdffiles/r670_1.pdf

Old Trooper

There’s so much wrong with the uniform that Stevie Wonder could spot the fake bullshit. A fucking private straight out of boot could do a better job with the uniform.

cakmakli

Correction to my above post. That should be Para 28-30a(5) and not(4)

Claymore

Thanks for the link to that site, Jonn…it lead me right back to this dumbass who’s spent the last 12 years claiming he was the chief of “Clan Akins”, a sept to the Gordon Clan which already has a clan chief…yeah, I just interrupted your veteran thread with some stupid Scots shit. LOL!

Gary

One other thing, a CSM with a 3 row Christmas tree?

1AirCav69

#17 Nevyan…The Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm is a Unit award…not personal. No Palm…Personal and you then would be correct…left side. He got that one right…believe it or not.

Sorry guys….I get the Vietnam Campaign and VSM confused and I was there…but getting old. VSM has “campaign stars”, or not…VNCM has the “60-” scroll. It’s a Vietnamese award we’ve all had to buy.

There is no doubt this guy is full of shit….oh, wait, I remember a 12 year old in our platoon. He had also fought with the 3rd ID in Marne. Maybe…just maybe…

Honor and Courage

SSG Medzyk

Hell, take out the two rows of state ribbons, and even I still have four stacked up.

This guy is a soup sandwich.

Fred

This guy is a total fake. First, his bearing is off. The class A is poorly fitted. The medals shouldn’t be going together. He has an infantry cord w/o the blue disks. Most obviously the rank doesn’t belong on the garrison hat. Even though I stayed drunk when was in the Army 22 years ago, I can see how wrong this is. I’ve never seen a CSM looking like this clusterf*ck.

A Wanabe Waster

This seems to be yet another wanabe waster, just like Mr Day who was caught out in the Remembrance Day in London.

Sorry to say but these types are just sick little men who do not see the pain and upset that they stupidly is causing to those who served and also those who lost family members and good friends.

Sporkmaster: It is a old story from 2009.

28 should say Jon Weston says

Theooneandonly

I have met this guy and thought him a bit odd, he says he was involved in the black hawk down Incedent?

Theooneandonly

he claims to have been married and have daughters in the US and also an aviation business?

Anonymous

I’m only 15 and I know for a FACT that 3rd ID does not have a SF branch on them. and ranger? And putting the damn ribbon bar on his tie???!!! WTF is wrong with this Douchebag???

Thunderfoot

First off as a former Soldier, I would love to kick this guys teeth in. Things I can tell that are wrong immediately. If this guy is “airborne”, where is his glider patch for his cover? No airborne qualified Soldier since the first units in WWII have ever gone without them. Even if not assigned to an airborne unit the glider patch (if the wings weren’t enough) signify one of the the corps. His uniform doesn’t fit – the sleeves are too longs and the pants are baggy – no CSM would EVER be seen like this. And speaking of CSM – his sleeve rank denote CSM but his “hat rank (giggle enlisted hat rank) is Sergeant Major vice Command Sergeant Major, even if enlisted did wear rank on their cover it would be the wrong rank. His DUI (Distinctive Unit Insignia) Have been replaced with two small “Ranger Diamonds” Hat Pins that represent the old Ranger insignia of WWII. Also as a CSM where are his Combat Leader Identification tabs (Green Shoulder Loops). His name plate has rounded edges and non-standard printing (as well as being two line) Army Service, Good Conduct Medal and at least a few Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Service Medals and the like are nowhere to be found. None of the displayed medals have any “ordinals” (clusters, stars, etc) attached and for someone to have earned the Silver Star, where is his “V” device for Valor? Can’t tell for sure but it appears the branch insignia is either JAG (people her REALLY doesn’t want to meet at this point) or Logistics. Again, I’d love to kick this guys teeth in. It would be worth the jail time, speaking of which impersonating an official of the US is a Federal offense, at least he would get sent to Fort Leavenworth – maybe they would even send him to the Military side where hard labor is still authorized. 🙂 (As a side note to the young man of 15.. Once you earn the SF and Ranger tabs, you can wear them throughout your career, however the are… Read more »

Hondo

Thunderfoot: the V device is not used on the Silver Star. The Silver Star is awarded only for valor in combat. The Army only uses the V device on the ARCOM and Bronze Star (and some joint awards), as these other awards can be awarded for valor, service, or non-valorous meritorious act or achievement. USAF policy is the same, if I recall correctly.

The Navy and USMC use the V device somewhat differently (earned in combat vice explicitly denoting an award for valor), and also uses the V device on the LOM. But they don’t put the V on the Silver Star, either.

Yat Yas 1833

Damn Hondo, you’re good! You hit the head right on the nail! To keep things simple for Jarheads there are very specific uses of the “V”.

A while back you introduced me to 620-1 and now I’m able to keep up with Army uniforms. Hell, I knew this asshat was FUBAR X2 after just a couple of seconds!

Marine_7002

And he badly needs a haircut. I have this urge to grab a pair of scissors…or a razor (preferably a dull one).

Charles

MEDALS: CIB, Silver star, Soldiers, Medal, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Vietnam Service, Vietnam campaign, National Defense, Liberation of Kuwait, Senior Jump Master, Expert Qualifications. Right Chest. ARVN Jump wings, Vietnam Citation, Presidential Unit Citation, 3rd ribbon? Name tag is not Regulation/Issue. Distinguished Service Cross pin on his tie? 3 ID doesn’t have an Airborne Unit?
