Minor updates

Well, let’s talk about someone who wants to be portrayed as the Democratic Party’s presumptive Presidential candidate. No, not Gavin Newsom – Kamala Harris. Cackles is at it again, this time devoting her mighty intellect to changing the voting age.

In an interview posted on “The Diary Of A CEO” YouTube channel, Harris declared that she thought “we should reduce voting age to 16.”

“I’ll tell you why. So, Gen Z, they’re age about 13 through 27, they’ve only known the climate crisis,” she said.

Yeah, that’ll work well. How about reinstating the draft and making the age 16? No? But…

“If they’re in high school or college, especially in college, it is very likely that whatever they’ve chosen as their major for study may not result in an affordable wage. They’ve coined the term climate anxiety…” she said. Fox News

Certainly a good reason to turn the running of the country  over to them. Heck, they don’t even know what a woman is. Me, I think we need to RAISE the voting age, like to 25. Did I mention she wants to RAISE the age someone can buy even a .22 to 21?

Alec Baldwin is getting sued by the prop company he used on the film “Rust”. You may remember after he shot his cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, Baldwin’s production company loudly complained of live ammo being supplied the set? Seth Kenney, who runs the supplier:

According to Kenney, “Rust” finished production on one of his rental properties without paying him and left his inventory in police custody. He’s asking the court to let a jury decide how much money he should get for the harm Kenney claimed he suffered. The prop distributor also requested extra money if the jury were to find Baldwin and others acted recklessly or maliciously.

While the investigation found live rounds at PDQ Arm & Prop, the prosecution previously claimed the rounds did not match the live round fired on set on Oct. 21, 2021. During “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed’s trial, prosecutors claimed the live rounds on the “Rust” set were seen in photographs taken on Oct. 10, 2021 – two days before Kenney’s dummy rounds arrived. Fox News II

So as evidence Alec used photos from an incorrect time frame and blamed the supplier. It’s amazing to me he was acquitted… but historically, justice in northern New Mexico is like the proverbial sh*t sandwich – the more bread ya got, the less sh*t ya gotta eat.

Oh, and a sheriff in California is warning one and all to beware of the “oil scam”.

Deputies in Placer County, California, say two Fremont men were arrested after allegedly pulling off a classic “engine oil” scam targeting private sellers.

The suspects — 19-year-old Lulian Mihai and 36-year-old Decebal Mihai — reportedly posed as interested buyers, then poured oil into the seller’s engine during a test drive to make it look like the car had serious mechanical issues.  MoneyWise

Bet that engine would run a lot worse if someone tried driving it with NO oil in the engine. Maybe the Placer County Sheriff should say something about EXCESS oil – that’ll make the car run poorly. (Still remember an ex-girlfriend who had her new FWD’s oil changed, after which it ran like crap. Her ‘mechanic’ new boyfriend had drained out all the transmission oil, then filled the engine with another 5 quarts. Luckily we caught it very soon. He didn’t last.)

And the bad optic of the day – Secretary Christy Noem’s DHS just closed on two private jets ($172,000,000 worth) purchased with Coast Guard funds. A kosher, pre-approved deal – but to finalize it during the shut-down is just a tad tone-deaf.TCD

Cackles McCameltoe has also been claiming that, as VICE President of the US, she negotiated and signed “hundreds of treaties with foreign heads of state”.
This is false, of course, because the VP has no authority to do any such thing. She’s really trying for another shot at the WH.

SFC D

She still negotiating under the table?

Marine0331

I don’t think she cares if the table is there or not.

Or in the knee-hole of Willy Brown’s desk.

A Proud Infidel®™

Shhhh, why interfere while she is cutting her own throat?

Odie

Give her more rope please.

But wait! Renowned international relations expert and political scientist George Clooney thinks running Kam was a bad idea.

I don’t know why the Democrats are afraid of a smarter, stronger woman like Tammy Duckworth. I don’t agree with her politics at all, which are practically identical to Harris, but at least she has strength of character.

Marine0331

I thank Tammie Duckworth immensely for her huge personal sacrifice and service to this great country, but she appears to me to just be a hateful B-word. Can’t imagine her in the WH either. Way smarter (well, who isn’t) than Cackles McCameltoe but probably just as dangerous.

26Limabeans

Her search engine is way better than google.

Slow Joe

What character?
Exploiting her military service to propel her political ambitions?

SFC D

Her character is as lacking as her legs. All she has is the “I’m a wounded veteran card”. Nothing more. I respect her service and sacrifice, but it ends there.

rgr769

The only person Tammy cares about is Tammy. Strength of character my ass. (That is a legal term)

USNI magazine had an article about the USMC’s dealing with Gen Z recruits and also their cell phones.

“If they’re in high school or college, especially in college, it is very likely that whatever they’ve chosen as their major for study may not result in an affordable wage.”

Sounds like they have not chosen wisely.

It’s probably not too late to change to a major that actually leads to “an affordable wage.”

Perhaps a trade school?

Reminds me of part of the song “Shit Hits the Fan” from the “Repo man” soundtrack:
🎶Five-pound blocks of cheese,
Bags of gro-cer-ies!
So-cial Security,
has run out,
On you and me,
We do whatever we can,
Gotta duck when the shit hits the fan,
Doopity doo-wop-wop, say what, yeah, …🎶”

Most college majors do not prepare one for a job. Just ask a philosophy major or someone who majored in gender studies. The only job college prepared me for was Army infantry officer via ROTC. I majored in Political Science. Anyone think that prepared me to run for a political office?

I hold a B.E.S. in Anthropology.
Never got a job with those qualification requirements, but it did teach me how to think critically, and how to examine evidence.

During one Homecoming pep rally when I went to college, they hired a Comedian to do a stint, he was an Alumnus with a Sociology Degree, and he started his act with “Yeah, I graduated with a Sociology Degree, that’s why I have to do comedy to help pay the bills!”

A college friend of mine got a BS in psychology. So, he bought a run-down pool hall and the vacant storefront next door, put a bar in, knocked a hole between the two and now had an awesome bar / billiard hall. That was around 1983. He just sold it two years ago and retired. Made a metric shit-ton of money.

I get giggle out of two of my nieces; both got liberal arts degrees. One of them makes a good living doing what her sister majored in; and the other, she makes a good living doing a job that was never covered in her studies. I would never tell them they majored in the wrong fields and I am proud of them for making their own way. I have a 40 something year old nephew who has never worked a day in his life; mostly because, no one in his hippie run little town is hiring anyone with his degree. Him, I’m not proud of.

Not that I’m shallow enough to vote based on appearances, but if I had to pick between Harris, Baldwin dressed up as a cowboy, an oil can, or Noem, then Noem gets my vote.

Friends don’t let friends vote D-rat, unless you are one and let your illegal alien friends vote.

Prior Service (Ret)

I voted for a D once, so I could honestly say I don’t just vote the straight R ticket.

Dennis - not chevy

I had a marxist classmate in Jr High School. She told me she was going to vote and named the demonrat for whom she was going to vote. I asked her if that was legal. She said, “Who cares, my parents will sneak me in.” Let’s do the math, I graduated from high school 50 years ago so Jr high was some 4 years before that. Get’m young was strong with those commies.

“Christy Noem…but to finalize it during the shut-down is just a tad tone-deaf.”

She’s still HOT!

Odie

Indeed she is.

And that .22 would be a rifle, as federal law already prohibits handgun sales to persons under 21. Back in the 60’s that was not the law. For Xmas, I was given a .22 Colt Frontier Scout revolver; I was 15. I still have it.

SFC D

My dad got a Remington bolt action for his 12th birthday in 1935. It was passed to me on my 12th birthday in 1974. I still have it.

UpNorth

I got a Remington .22 bolt action rifle on my 15th birthday. Still in my gun safe.

SFC D

It still shoots as true as the day as it was made. And after a million or so cycles, the action is like buttah!

Marine0331

The biggest question in my mind when it comes to the old-guard demoncrats is; why do they seem to want to allow the far-left radicals destroy their party if they want so badly to stay in power? Why are they so afraid of pushing back instead of letting idiot nut-jobs like AOC, Jazzie Crockett, Elizabeth Warren and other anti-American Squad members become the face of the party? Are they that stupid or just cowards or both?

Prior Service (Ret)

Yea they are scared to say “no” to the whacko left which is filled with the youngest and most extreme. Every moderate Dem has a choice, tack hard left to stay relevant, or veer right and become a moderate Republican. But what republican trusts an ex-Dem? Very few advance beyond RINO. Plus, add they can’t be in agreement with Trump on anything or they’ll pay. Schumer is a case study in this.

No prominent Dem of today who was around 15 years or more ago would been caught dead saying the $&#% they say today with abandon. The whackos have pulled them there. But they can’t admit it.

MustangCryppie

It’s amazing to me he was acquitted…”

Baldwin wasn’t. The case was dismissed for bullshit reasons. What happened was hinky in the extreme.
