Police: Rock Hill Galleria shooting was in self-defense; alleged assailant charged
By Lamaur Stancil
ROCK HILL — Police said the Oct. 10 shooting at the Rock Hill Galleria was in self-defense and will not result in charges against the armed person.Instead, the man police described as the aggressor, Martrell Telly Minter, 26, of Chester, was charged with assault and battery.
It was about 2 p.m. Friday when the two men became involved in an argument on the mall property, on the north side of Dave Lyle Boulevard, just east of Interstate 77. The other man shot Minter in the shoulder, police said.
Witnesses shared photos on social media of an ambulance parked outside the food court entrance to the mall on its south side. Police said Minter was in critical condition and was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.
Galleria management could not be reached for comment. The mall closed its operations after the shooting for the day, but other tenants at the property with their own entrances, such as Walmart, stayed open.

Mr. Minter got shot, then charged in the shooting. Karma smiles.

Be interesting to find out what they were arguing about that led to the shooting.
