Trump administration fires vice admiral from her position in NATO
Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield was fired from her position with NATO over the recent weekend. Chatfield was one of the senior military officers identified as woke by the American Accountability Foundation. Democrat Senator Mark Warner from Virginia was “deeply disturbed” by Chatfield’s removal. Warner further accused President Trump of “relentless attacks on our alliances” and of “careless dismissal” of decorated military officials.

Chatfield was on a list of senior military officers targeted as “woke” by the conservative American Accountability Foundation, which sent a letter to Hegseth saying that “purging the woke from the military is imperative.”
Chatfield, a Navy helicopter pilot who also commanded a joint reconstruction team in Afghanistan, had been serving as one of the 32 representatives on NATO’s military committee. The panel is the primary source of military advice to the North Atlantic Council and NATO’s Nuclear Planning Group, according to NATO. It serves as the link between the political decision-makers and NATO’s military structure..
Sen. Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, said he was “deeply disturbed” by the firing.
“Trump’s relentless attacks on our alliances and his careless dismissal of decorated military officials make us less safe and weaken our position across the world,” Warner said in a post on X.
The campaign to erase DEI programs and online content has been met with questions from lawmakers, local leaders and citizens angered by the removal of military heroes and historic mentions from Defense Department websites and social media pages.
The accountability foundation complained in the letter to Hegseth that those responsible for DEI policies “must be dismissed,” adding that military leaders should be focused on cultivating lethality, not on fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the ranks.
The letter said Chatfield posted supportive comments on LinkedIn about a diversity summit and gave a speech in 2015 at Women’s Equality Day. The group quoted her as saying that investing in empowering women can unlock human potential.
And they also said she was quoted as saying, “our diversity is our strength” — a phrase that Hegseth has repeatedly condemned.

I saw this story as well. If true (though unconfirmed I see no reason to doubt it), she didn’t get fired…she fired herself.
Truman fired MacArthur even after he saved Korea with the Inchon landings. He thought Mac was provoking China to escalate the war outside of the Korean peninsula, so he sacked him. You can’t have flag officers ‘doing their own thing’ and not following the civilian leadership directives.
The pearl clutching by Dems shows me these are needed changes in leadership. If the officers aren’t political, then why do Dems care? Because they’re carrying water for their party and ideology. Its not like her and the others are irreplaceable.

My math says about 1,330,000 divided by 653 equals about 1 for every 2000.
The military officers number is very close but includes warrant officers, pilots and others that don’t always lead troops. The Air Force alone has about 20k pilots, battle managers, pilot trainees and navigators for example. The Navy has even more pilots.
A large number of officers serve in roles that have no troops like Foreign Area Officers that work at embassies, ROTC trainers, various accounting jobs, lawyers, doctors, nurses, chaplins all kinds of things that enlisted soldiers are not involved in and can’t do. There is huge amounts of infrastructure that lower and even middle enlisted never see.
Truman explained the firing thusly:
“I fired him because he wouldn’t respect the office of the president. I didn’t fire him because he was a dumb son of a bitch, although he was one, but that’s not against the law for generals.”

3 & 4 stars removed from their position by law have 60 days to find another equivalent billet or get an approved retirement date. Otherwise, they will revert to their permanent rank of major general/rear admiral.
The SecDef reviews all retirements of officers above paygrade 0-8. He signs the certificate of satisfactory service which gets submitted to the Senate allowing the officer to retire in grade. The admiral done poked the bear.

That’s the kind of write up I’d expect from someone working on a bachelor’s degree (sophomore/senior) or a masters degree, definitely not something one would expect from a doctorate degree. 
The papers I submitted for the courses section of my doctorate degree looked more academic than that! I’m currently generating section three of my research paper, presentation of the findings. The first two sections of the paper collectively go over 160 pages, once the final write-up is completed, the paper looks to push or surpass 300 pages.
No Combat Action Ribbon either.

I’m trying to stay young, with my fairly active job, but every time I check Facebook I see my former peers in various states of disrepair, and my fellow DV coworkers are all 10-15 years younger than me. What keeps me going are the banks full of young college graduates and seasoned women my age (mid-40s) watching me out hump the younger guys while carrying more ammo (69 rounds). Soon, I’ll get an FN545 Tactical. I like my Glock 17 but mostly people here carry that or a G19. The FN545 offers 18+1 rounds of .45 ACP ready to go, with three spare mags that’s 69 and a foursome.
