National Guard General Relieved of Command

| January 9, 2023

The LA Times and other media outlets are reporting that Brigadier General Jeffrey Magram of the California National Guard has been relieved of command.

A general is fired from the scandal-plagued California National Guard
BY PAUL PRINGLESTAFF WRITER | JAN. 7, 2023

In yet another ouster of a top commander for the troubled California National Guard, a brigadier general has been fired after internal inquiries found that he inappropriately used military personnel for personal tasks, had a subordinate complete part of his cybersecurity training and otherwise engaged in conduct that seeded distrust in the ranks.

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Magram will be “involuntarily transferred” next week to the U.S. Air Force retired reserve, an action that is “parallel” to a firing, California National Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Brandon Hill said Friday.

Magram, who was once director of the Guard’s air staff, is the fifth general to resign, retire or be fired in the wake of scandals exposed by Times investigations of the organization over the last four years.

Most of the allegations against Magram were first disclosed in a Times report in June. Weeks later, the longtime head of the Guard, Maj. Gen. David Baldwin, retired.

FoxNews has reported that it is due to Magram having troops junior to him take his mother shopping.

What’s this world coming to when you can’t have your troops take your mother shopping?  Next, they’ll question you taking your son on that trip to China or Ukraine or paying your daughter with campaign cash.

Retire any General who cannot bench press 225 lbs.

It might balance the federal budget.

Daisy Cutter

“Involuntarily transferred” is an action “parallel” to a firing.

That’s code similar to “lost confidence in leadership” or “wants to spend more time with his/her family.”

We know what they’re doing.

ChipNASA

You got to fuck up pretty hard to get “retired” from the Guard. I mean, shit. IT’S THE GUARD!! (AND it’s COMMIEFORNIA!!)
OH and NO!! Make his ass retire from the GUARD. The Air Force Reserve doesn’t want your TRASH on OUR books.

That lazy son of a bitch won’t even take his mother antiquing himself. That right there should be enough to get fired.

A face only a mother could love….

KoB

She mighta loved him, but he shore didn’t love her. Maybe if she’d of taken him to the woodshed a little more often, he wouldn’t have turned out to be such a sh^tbag.

Anna Puma

Hope there is a competent NCO in the CA NG that can lead. Because the officers apparently can’t.

Hey we aren’t all bad 😉

“Magram, who was once director of the Guard’s air staff, is the fifth general to resign, retire or be fired in the wake of scandals exposed by Times investigations of the organization over the last four years.”

5 flag-grade douchebags in 4 years. Gotta be a record. or is it just a good start?

RGR 4-78

Does that give the Times “Ace” status?

Carlton

Is there any sort of “stolen valor” award for someone using an event that actually (or possibly) happened and trying to insert himself into the event?

I just read about the general on Fox News. Most of you have heard the story of a USMC LT having a private salute him 100 times for failing to salute. As the story goes, “Chesty” Puller witnessed the goings-on and inquired of the LT what was happening. The LT gleefully explained the situation. Chesty told the LT that he was correct in having the private salute him 100 times, but that an officer must return every salute, so the LT had to return all the salutes. Whether this actually happened, only God, Chesty, the LT, and the private know.

But some commenter on Fox News said that he personally witnessed such an event as a young AIT private at Ft Devens, and it was an unnamed Colonel who took Chesty’s place in the story.

Mandatory sea stories that every newbie must be subjected to during the check in process. Hack Stone would like to reiterate, “this is no shit, it just happened the week before you checked in.”

The Battalion Shitboard is being given his latest Article 15 before the Colonel. All of a sudden, the kid whips out his wallet, jumps on the Colonel’s desk, and speaks into his wallet “Beam me up, Scotty. I am in a world of shit.”

Marine heads out into Oceanside, meets a girl in a bar, and they head to a local motel (usually the story says The Wally Johnson Motor Lodge on what was once Hill Street and the I-5 off ramp). He wakes up alone in the motel room the next morning feeling all groggy. He gets dressed and heads to base. After a few hours, he stills feel like Paul Pelosi after bringing home a home renovation day laborer from the Home Depot, so he goes to see Doc. Apparently, unbeknownst to him, both of his kidneys are now missing. No shit, happened last week.

SFC D

I had a 1SG use that missing kidney story in a Friday safety brief sometime in ’97. I’m sure he believed it to be a true story.

Daisy Cutter

Doesn’t it go like this…

Wake up in a bath tub of ice water. Phone and note next to them. Explains they removed kidneys and they can call 911 if they are having complications.

Hack Stone
SFC D

That’s the one!

Hack Stone

Had a guy swear that it was true. “There was even an ALMAR (All Marines) issued on it. “Okay, may I see the ALMAR?”

Carlton

IT WAS ON THE NEWS!!!!

Most of the guys I served with that happened to woke with both kidneys and some extra. Like some crabs, Gonorrhea and some child support payments in their future.

Well, you know…

In the PI, a Sailor hooked up with a Bar Girl and went to an apartment. She asked if he didn’t mind being tied up and expecting something good and kinky, he agreed. After tying him up, she exited the room and some guy in a Batman suit hopped out of a closet and went “Na-na-na-na-na-nana-nana, BATMAN!” on his ass and that’s why he had to go to Sick Bay…

Thanks to over-use of antibitiocs, the incurable drug-resistant “black” gonorrhea they used to scare us with overseas (you know, we couldn’t go back to CONUS and our wing-wang would rot off) is now real.

Flag level reliefs usually fit in one of three categories:

  • Grabbing ass (unwillingly or willingly with not-wife)
  • Not being politically acceptable (read “not big proggy douche-bag”)
  • Abuse of power

Not sure how many reliefs don’t fit in one of these.

Hack Stone

Would misappropriation of government funds be covered under abuse of power? Asking for a friend in Merritt Island Florida.

Green Thumb

Hey!

Let go my Phildo!

Meanwhile, in Merritt Island Florida, All Points Logistics is proud to welcome Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Magram on board as a senior executive in their headquarters facility. Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Magram has recently retired from the California National Guard.

His first assignment was a Trumpet Player with the 561st AF Band, 129Rescue Wing, Moffett Federal Air Field, Calif…

Claw

Another slap in the face to the NDSM Brotherhood. He didn’t join the Guard until 1985 yet he is wearing two stars on the NDSM (denoting three awards) which means he would have to had service almost 50 years ago in the Viet of the Nam era to qualify.

Just another 1st SEAC wanna-be. / s

Moffett Field? Hell, that’s where I am. Now there is only the 129th Rescue Wing, NASA, Carnegie Mellon University (Silicon Valley Campus), and Google.

Google has a sweetheart deal with the Federal Government — they have a $1.6B 60-year lease of Moffett Field and have just built a new campus near my building; they also get good aircraft fuel prices, control of the runway … and now they are restoring Hangar One.

In 2010, when he was selected to be the Maintenance Group commander at the 129th Rescue Wing and then the in 2011 Vice Wing Commander, 129th Rescue Wing, he deployed overseas as the Senior Air Reserve Component Advisor to the Commander of Air Force Central Command at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

You all DO remember Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, correct?

As in JR “Air Force Combat Veteran No Running Water In Afghanistan” Majewski?

Anyone check in to see what JR is up to these days? It must really burn his buns seeing as he was sent packing for his lies while George Santos gets sworn in. Sucks being him.

Green Thumb

He is probably consulting with The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) as we speak.

Dude went to the University of California, Berkeley..

Check out his skills…

“Highly Experienced Brigadier General – Transitioning to Private Sector”
“I have been in the Air National Guard for 37 1/2 years and I’m proud to tell the world that I am now transitioning to the private sector”

Hack Stone

Does his resume have include that he has “Mommy Issues”?

Green Thumb

More like “Monkress” issues.

rgr769

Wow! I didn’t know this could be a flag officer firing offense. When I interviewed for a general’s aide gig, I was told one of my duties would be to escort the BG’s wife on shopping trips. I withdrew from consideration when I saw the general’s sparse ribbon rack and the lack of jump wings and CIB. Plus, he left me standing at attention throughout the interview. I told Col. Sadler (soon to be CO of MACVSOG) I didn’t want the job.

Hack Stone

Back around 1987, Hack Stone was stationed down at Camp Lejeune to earn his highly coveted and frequently awarded Toxic Water Contamination Ribbon. He had to go TAD from Camp Lejeune, which is located adjacent to Jacksonville NC to the port where the Maritime Preposition Forces cargo ships were docked, which was Jacksonville Florida. So Hack Stone went TAD from Jacksonville to Jacksonville. But yet again, Hack Stone digresses. Getting back to the point, he reported in the morning to 2nd Marine Division Headquarters. Climb in the van, and we roll on to General Looney’s residence to pick him up. He climbs aboard, and his Aide is beside the vehicle. The General tells him “I’ll be back this evening. Be sure to walk my dog.” Four years of college and a Marine Corps Officers commission, and he ends up as a dog walker.

rgr1480

…and he ends up as a dog walker.

That’s the additional duty of a “Dog robber” (^__^)

Dude, that’s just embarrasing.

Prior Service

Sayonara, BG. Departing the organization with his crank just a bit flatter from having stepped on it. The ethics on this are blindingly obvious. Someone let him down…

Mason

He was just listening to his leaders. Both swalwell and Biden have said you need f-15s if you want to stand up to the gov.

Deckie

Fools.

The boys and girls who fly them and 99% of the military would NOT be on their side.
