‘Not today’: Memphis woman takes on carjackers

by: Melissa Moon
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis mom is warning other women to be careful after her daughter was forced to fight off carjackers at a southwest Memphis gas station Saturday night.

It happened at around 11 p.m. at the Grizzly Mart at Horn Lake and Shelby Drive.

“Her car is new. She still has the drive-out tags on it,” said Karen Johnson Lee. “My daughter had been without a car since last August, and she finally got another car, and they were about to take it.”

In the video provided by the gas station, you can see two young men get out of a silver car and run toward the young woman’s car after she gets out to remove the gas nozzle from her vehicle. One of them actually gets inside.

“The guy said ‘Ma’am, get out of here.’ She said ‘This is my car,’” said Lee. ” She said ‘No, this is my car, and you are not going to have it — not today,’ and she yanked them out of there. She fought them off.”

In the surveillance video, you can also see her daughter pull one man away from her car and yank the other out of her vehicle. Both suspects took off running.

“She is her mother’s daughter,” said Lee. “As a parent, I was very angry. I feel like they were sitting back watching and waiting for a single parent or a single woman.”

Deputies: Bulloch Co. man shows up to house uninvited, shot in self-defense

by Nicholas Papadimas
BULLOCH CO., Ga. (WTGS) — A Bulloch County man was shot Tuesday after deputies said he showed up to a house uninvited, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said it happened at a house on Mud Road in Brooklet around 5 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the house, they said they found David Martin with a gunshot wound to his lower left leg.

Martin received aid at the scene but was taken by Bulloch County EMS by air evac to a hospital in Savannah for treatment.

Deputies said after Martin walked onto the property, he started screaming at the homeowners. The homeowner told deputies he shot Martin in self-defense because he feared Martin may cause harm to him and his wife.

When Martin is released from the hospital, deputies said he will be charged for acts he committed against the homeowners.

10mm is bigger than 9mm but I prefer 11.43mm.

The 10 hits oh very much harder than the 11, at least in proper “pre FBI” loading.

The cheap 10mm FMJ currently sold is often little different than .40 Short and Weak. But loaded up to the 10’s proper full-house level? Thump!

It also makes an excellent carbine round.

A trifecta for our WW. Here’s to you Bro! Fight back, get mad dog mean. Never surrender, never retreat. BZ to the citizens for their stand. Wonder how much that med-e-vac gonna cost the citizens of Bulloch County? Reckon those lads in Memphis was needing a nicer ride to get to choir practice.

Another plasticized abomination for our derisive remarks. But, hey, that’s OK, it takes all kinds. And again, comparisons made to the designs of His Most Saintly, JMB (Howitzer Be His Name) in the Rock Island version. phtttt!
