Tori Lynn Schneider
The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a homeowner shot and killed an intruder early Wednesday.

TPD received a call just after 1 a.m. and responded to a house in the 2800 block of Old St. Augustine Road, near the intersection of Capital Circle SE, where they found a dead adult male.

“We are investigating it as a home invasion, attempted burglary with a shooting,” department spokesperson Alicia Turner said Thursday. “The homeowner used deadly force on the suspect after they entered the home.”

Domestic abuse victim shoots aggressor after ‘long pattern of abuse,’ Acadia Sheriff says

Ashley White
A domestic abuse victim shot a Crowley man in self-defense after months of abuse said Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.

Deputies were called on Feb. 19 to a shooting involving a domestic matter at a home in the 2400 block of South Avenue F, which is south of Crowley.

Brandon Hebert had been shot and was taken to a local hospital. Investigators identified a “long pattern of domestic abuse” through physical evidence and witness statements where Hebert was the aggressor, Gibson said. The abuse had been going on for about six months.

“The homeowner used deadly force…” Heh heh WRONG HOUSE MOFO!

“…victim shoots aggressor after “long pattern of abuse”…” Keep kicking that dog and it WILL turn and bite you. I put domestic abusers right up there with child abusers. Give them to the Boys at the BTJ&T Deli at the Gray Bar Hotel. See how they like being abused on a regular basis.

Always nice to see the rare picture show, set in the 1860s, with someone using the revolving rifle. That idea went away when Mr. Henry got the bugs out of the lever action and then along came Mrs. Winchester. Got a linky attached below with one of the FIRST versions of revolving rifles that Springfield came out with. I’ve fired several different repros of this design. Watch out for chain fires, it can happen.

Wonder what else that Sister Golden Haired Surprise Ms Thang may have that is “camo-ed”?

Soldiers equipped with the Colt Root revolving carbines and rifles soon learned not to place the offhand in front of the cylinder. As chain fires were common in these rifles, one could lose a hand if it was placed in front of the cylinder and multiple chambers chain fired. Just shooting blanks, I have had multiple chambers go off on two occasions with percussion revolvers, at Civil War reenactments.
