Oh, here we go: Mr. Biden doth proclaim his POV regarding how cops should act when confronted by overexcited criminals.
Joe Biden wants cops to be trained to shoot people in the leg instead of center mass. Like, man, he’s such an expert that he fires the shotgun off the balcony at his house, right?

I notice two things: he’s NOT antigun in this proposal; in addition, he thinks he knows more than professional law enforcement people on what cops should do.
I’d love to have the Secret Squirrel viewpoint about this, but that can wait a bit.

I think it is a basic truism that those who advocate loudest for a leg shot are those who have never shot, or if they have, couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn wall – from the inside.

No, Law Enforcement Officers should be issued huge magnets. When the suspect brandishes a firearm or knife, they turn the magnet on, and science takes over. The suspect is immediately and safely disarmed with no harm to either party. Unless the suspect is a Millennial, then there may be unintended consequences with all of the metal decorations piercing their face.
Ooh, Science! It always furnishes the best solution to any problem. Of course, we’ll need a discussion on how big and heavy the battery pack will need to be and the range of the magnet. Which, I am thinking has to be more than 21 feet. Hondo should have the solution worked out by tomorrow.

Again, Dims with no understanding of how to deal with armed violent people. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I seem to remember a passage from the book “Inside Delta” where some members of Mr Peanuts staff met with the Delta boys as they were training up for the hostage rescue in Iran and one of them, I forget who, was horrified when they explained the “two to the chest one to the head” technique they would use to neutralize the hostage takers. Supposedly they asked why they couldn’t just shoot them in the arm to get them to drop their gun.
For de-escalation to work you need a willing participant. Or at least someone willing to listen to reason and react appropriately. It is were so easy and effective, it would have worked on the screeching harpy lefties by now.
It just doesn’t always work.

Remember this self-defense firearms advice comes from the guy that said the only gun a person or family should have is a double-barreled shotgun. And if one is threatened by a potential home invasion or burglar, the proper homeowner move is to shoot two shots blindly off your back porch. It is just as stoopid a move as thinking you can successfully disarm a perp by shooting the gun out of his hand a’la TV Westerns.
Having attended our local police department’s eleven week course for citizen volunteers, I can affirm that LEO’s are taught to shoot center of mass until the threat is eliminated. To do otherwise will result in many more officers ending up in the ER or the morgue.
And for those who think a single round, even center mass, will stop a perp instantly, there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Police are not trained to shoot people in the leg but they could be. Or better yet a Bat-a-rang. One could pull it off their utility belt and hurl it at the masked jewel thief Corn-pop as he tries to make his getaway. If you miss it comes right back to you for another shot. Or a grappling hook. A grappling hook on the Jimmy will stop a bad guy in his tracks every time.
Ex and I exchanged some ideas on the subject yesterday evening. I have the right to defend myself and others from grievous bodily harm or death, and to do what is necessary to stop the threat. Aside from the fact Joe is FOS, I have read where a zealous prosecutor may charge one with intentional maiming if it can be proved specific body parts were targeted.
I have been asked, in all seriousness, why one simply doesn’t shoot the firearm from the bad guy’s hand- my immediate reply was asking if that person had ever actually handled a firearm.
The answer was no, of course.

Bad guy was caught in the act of committing burglary while armed. Took off running toward other officers who probably didn’t know he was there. Officer Durocher ventilated the turd. Weapon was recovered off the turd and the officer’s body cam recorded everything. Turd was found guilty at trial and sentenced to 6 years.
Officer Durocher is still facing charges for malicious wounding (5-20 years) and use of a firearm in commission of a felony (3 years minimum).

Shooting someone in the leg is often fatal. Hit either one of those big descending aortal arteries and they’ll bleed out in literally seconds.
So it’s okay for criminals to rob/steal, break & enter and damage, shoot other people for any reason or none at all, destroy property of others, and generally run roughshod over everyone they see, but cops can’t do their jobs any more because LIABILITY LAWS, and we can’t defend ourselves against attacks because the Bad Guy may get hurt.
It is time all those post-1945 laws about that kind of thing were repealed and we just start over.
