Widespread Internet outages, we’re still here
I don’t think we can blame widespread Internet outages across the US and Europe on Dave Hardin, but I’m not willing to rule it out.
We’re still here and up (for now), if you can find us. The outage seems to be affecting Centurylink mostly. Early Sunday morning outage, I’ll guess it’s an issue with a planned upgrade or maintenance. It could also be the result of some coordinated hacking effort.
Hopefully they get it fixed up so anyone with Centurylink (and numerous related sub-companies) can come back into the fold.
I’ll update this as more information comes in.

Antifa Hackers.
Signal guys know.
Always trust your Signal guys.
Never ever piss off the cook, supply daddy, or the guy who controls your phone and NIPR.
The Network Nazis bear close watching.
Because nobody would EVER target this website for a DDoS attack or attempt to hack it. Right? Guys? Right?
In all seriousness, can we get a score card on the attempts to disrupt this site over the years? I remember a certain someone crying to the server host was it? And I think I remember a mention once of someone trying to gain entry in the middle of the night through the admin log in? Fun times trying to keep the light shone on that internet hive of scum and villainy.
I’m still here for the time being
There are a couple of sites I can usually get to that are also offline this morning, so it isn’t just this site.
Email outgoing SMTP was out for me this morning. Back now.
Blame Dave.
Dave’s got the servers too close to the Soviet. They’ve overheated and shut down.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Now, try getting him to back away from the Soviet.
Funny how the Internet starts going funny when everyone’s sharing info about Democrats’ favorite “mostly peaceful” rioters (and hope for persuading folk to vote for Joe Biteme) are really nasty destructive idiots and not winning Democrats any friends.
Some of us are so isolated that we didn’t even know about it. Now that I do, we can formulate a plan for dealing with it. Later. Maybe.
After breakfast. Or lunch. Or Tuesday.
If the world goes dark I’ll be in the bush.
Best make some noise in my AO and keep those hands where my eyes can see.
How ‘bout all that throttling twatter is doing on less-than-desirable videos…?
It’s almost like the brainbug’s a’fraid.
With Comcast, it’s not an outage, it’s a “feature”.
So THAT’S what happened this Sunday pre-dawn AM. Tried to open webz, no-go. Fiddled with wifi box, said was connected, but no ‘net. Did a hard reboot (unplug/replug power), no change. Let it go for couple hours, when I came back to it, everything was good.
Did you try jiggling the handle?
And, TAH went dark here in the Mitten state, at least the west side of the lower half of the state, at about 2045, and came back around 2150.
