Well, now we know all we need to know about the “Ph D” this guy claims. It was issued by Kennedy Western University, whose degrees were not worth the paper they were printed on. Multiple states have alerts regarding this unaccredited education business entity, including Texas: “CAUTION! A DBA requires 3+ years of effort, and a PhD is 4+ years, depending on which university you attend, and how you apply yourself. I’m getting a packet together to try to get into a PhD program at a local university… this is a 4+ year program.
The only PhD this guy would’ve had would’ve been the PhD in Bullshitting awarded 100% on his experiences. :rolleyes:

That picture of him in the simulator? That was like the “ride horses” outside the shopping centers… the ones that required a quarter to operate.
Dennis Chevalier was no use to the CAP community, so they stuck him with that “simulator.” It had pictures for controls, and all it needed was a quarter to operate. One of the guys was nice enough to put a quarter in there so that the “plane” could “move” with Dennis Chevalier in it.
This was his job during their meetings. For longer meetings, they were nice enough to override the quarter requirement, and he rode that thing for the duration of the meeting.
This is the extent of his “military” flying.

I think i did see somewhere that he made reference to getting medical treatment through the VA but I can’t remember where …I will try to find it and post it. If you go up to the 2006 time frame on one of his pages he has his official capBio.pdf. It probably should be sent to CAP headquarters for review. The list of aircraft there that he indicates he flew is quite interesting (hint: birddog negative, talon and compass call positive). it will be a few hours before I get back to a full-size computer. Anyone planning to FOIA his claims of service in the TX ARNG?

I have found a few internet (bon jour!) comments defending the Kennedy Western diploma mill by asserting that it is licensed to issue diplomas and degrees. The commenters are either ignorant or being disingenuous. No doubt they are holders of these mail-order degrees. There is a huge distinction between certification or licensure to operate a business in a state and accreditation as an educational institution. The former is required of any business, such as a massage parlor or a gas station. The latter requires the educational entity to meet minimum standards for conferring degrees which, in turn, are recognized by academia as bona fide.

What is it with C-130’s and wannabes? I met a phony about 20 years ago who said his rank of Major in the CAP was his cover. He was really a Major in the Air Force Reserve and a member of a ultra-top-secret unit. On Friday afternoons he would fly to Eglin, get on a C-130, fly to some far off land and bring great pain to the enemy, and return Sunday night before anyone would notice they were gone.
This person has passed on to his reward so hunting him would be pointless. I think of the similarities between the phony I met and Chevalier and wonder. Do phonies have a check list?
Dennis–I will say if you’ve ever seen a C-130 doing a JATO (more correctly, rocket-assisted, but whatever) it does look pretty badass.

I was a passenger on a C-130 going from base to base and rumor had it they were going to do a JATO at one of the smaller air fields. They didn’t; the evasive action they took was fun enough. The pilot learned in some countries restricted air space means restricted air space.
