Anthony Magsam; Phony Gunnery Sergeant
This is Scotty’s work again on this fellow who used to be a cop in Philadelphia, until he stole some parts from some of the Philly PD’s fully automatic weapons, ostensibly to make his own weapons automatic. You know, because no one would ever notice that parts had been swapped out. You can read the story of the cover-up and the SWAT Team showing up at his front door at Scotty’s place.
Anyway, he liked to brag about his career as a Marine Corps gunnery sergeant. You can see at his Facebook page he calls himself Gunny Tony. The NPRC says “Who?”
I guess he was tossed from his Motorcycle Club, too, but I don’t know how he joined with that pocket racer he’s riding in the picture above. I noticed that the jacket in the picture has a CIB on it, nice trick for a Marine. He’s also wearing a “Bronze Star for Valor” patch on it. Probably to honor someone’s service (their main excuse). Anyway, you can read the whole story of his problems with the Philly PD at the links at Scotty’s page.
Category: Phony soldiers
What kind of stupid is this one full of.
Come to think of it, all these idiots from ShOrTBuSRidEr41, Paul K. Wickre, Ron Mailahan, Dan Bernath, and the countless others that have came here to spew their diarrhea exhibit the same exact psychological traits and each and every one of them truly believes that they can trump the 1st Amendment by trying to challenge the TRUTH.
@ 137 – This guy has a pervy look about him. He may have put that poor possum down his own pants!
I gotta love people who use phony e-mail addresses to threaten legal action.
Poseur, thy name is douchebag.
Here’s hoping all the pain and suffering you’ve inflicted on those around you comes back to you tenfold. Don’t thank me, you’ve earned it.
Fools go where angels fear to tread and I am no angel so please allow me to ask a question and make one comment.
The FOIA request came back saying “…the Name and Social Security Number which you provided came back negative.”
Does that mean the search was conducted on the basis of both criteria being met? Or was it conducted on an “and / or” basis where the name may hit but not the social security number or the social security number but not the name?
Secondly, Magsam’s comment at #101 contains the following statement: “………I got back through court when they found me INNOCENT.”
People are not found “innocent” in a court of law. They are found “not guilty” which is not the same thing as “innocent.” The idea that a former cop who seaid he went through the judicial process doesn’t know the difference or is willing to lie about the verdict adds another layer of deception as far as I am concerned.
Anyone that served, when accused of being a poser can rattle off times and dates is questions about parts or all of their service. If you are for real just few quick sentences will prove who you are in the eyes of vets.
Example for me if questioned on Boot Camp:
Went to AFEES in Richmond, took a train to Savannah Ga, taken to A-rport to wait the rest of recruits,, got their about midnight August 11 1980
Was sent to CO I 3rd recruit training battalion. SDI was SSGT Salzman, other DIs were Sgt Taylor, Sgt Smith and Sgt Godsoe. Sgt Smith was relieved and busted in the middle of training. I fired 208 (markman) on the range. My final pft was a 242. I did mess duty at the rifle range mess hall, before we graduated we got to see a movie “Star wars 2” We were supposed to be allowed to get candy and soda but I SDI told us we were not going to be pussies, so we didnt get it. My platoon was 3069 and were were called 30-sixty-slime. My platoon stated with 74 recruits, picked up 9 and graduated with 58 on Nov 4th 1980.
@159–if no SSN was provided, they’ll go by the name, dates of service claimed, etc. I haven’t ever tried to get a full SSN, and typically, one isn’t needed. If a Vietnam-era or earlier vet, the service number is always good and isn’t PII.
But yeah, the more accurate the information, the better the chance of an accurate reply.
I’m telling you guys, this could be Robert Hay’s long, lost brother.
NHSparky,
Thanks for the reply.
I guess what I am asking is if an FOIA request is made for “Gitar Carver” with the SS# of 1234-56-7890 but the actual SS# is 0987-65-4321 will that come come back with a positive “hit” for “Gitar Carver” being in the service or will the result be “we have no record?”
The reason I ask is that I made a “Sunshine Law” request (the state of Florida equivalent of FOIA) for emails on a specific legislative bill written by a certain person.
The person responding to the request put in the correct name of the person I was interested in, but put in the wrong resolution number which brought back a result of “sorry, there are no records to be found.” In fact, after resubmitting the request, there were hundreds of emails that were found.
I can see where false results are returned from information that is just slightly off if you start combining a bunch of criteria.
Service number applied only to those serving before 1974. 1974 and later, it is your SSN. When I file a FOIA I send name, rank if known, DOB and HOR or current address. The only time I’ve ever run into a brickwall is if the individual didn’t serve or anything civil or criminal listed in public records which has been rare. Everybody marries, eveybody gets divorced and everybody dies. For those I get multiple name hits, I double down on age (matching three out of five), addresses, city or cities, known associates, immediate family members, other relatives and/or alias’s that have been used.
Take Wickre for example; Once I verified it was him, I went to work locating family members living or dead and when I forget who said they thought he he had a sister, I tied them together then the rest fell in place. IIRC, he was very livid because I found his daughter and he came here, making it known how pissed off he was. He got even worse when we listed his deceased mother and a link to her obit.
@ 160 … Old Dog
Ain’t that the truth.
Oct 2, 79 arrived GLAKES to meet my new daddy, EMC Robert’s and his severely burned left side of his face and his lil’ nub for an ear. He said, “read my lips you little northern faggots picks from NY and NJ … I don’t like Yankees … now drop you bug futcks!”
We were in Company 138, 11 Division … most south eastern building on the base. We marched our asses off twice the distance of everyone else.
We sang, “we are company 138 … they say we will not graduate.”
Most of us spent our evenings in MTU becoming aquainted with M-1 rifles in a room with the termostat yanked up to 90 friggin’ degrees.
Thanks God I was not the only freckled faced dumbass … there were plenty of us.
Our company was eventually broken up because we weere jacked up like no other company!
But these are just details!
gitarcarver: it is my understanding that NPRC does an AND match – e.g., both must match – if name and SSN are provided. If the individual served under a different name, or used a different SSN, you’ll get a “we couldn’t find anything” reply.
I might be wrong about that, but I don’t think I am.
I know Man-Scum has read mine and the MCPO’s post and has plenty of time to respond with his info on the unit he served with and who his leaders and buddies were in Afghanistan.
Magsamium Assholious of Philadump … tell us some stories.
Use a little US Army jargon, drop a few places, names and pepper with well known acronyms!
We KNOW you can’t … because you were never there!
I will say this–with a name as uncommon as Magsam, it certainly narrows it down.
Hell, he claims Army, wears Marine rank. Just do two FOIA’s, one for each service, just to see what shakes out. I’ve got a pretty good idea already, however.
I don’t think he’s wearing any Marine patches or rank in photos. He calls himself “Gunny” on facebook so no telling what tales he spread. He claims its because he is known to like and collect firearms. I call bullshit. No self respecting doggie is going to let someone call him “Gunny”, since they know its a Marine rank.
Or you could just give yourself nick names,
I think I’ll be “Big Snake That Makes Women Faint”
Points to whoever remembers that movie line,
@170–Wagons East.
I give my points to the Broncos. God knows they need ’em.
This turd is obviously into “Phildos”.
Sparky,
You could win all star jeopardy, give all the points to the Bronies and it wouldnt be enough.
#166 Hondo,
Thank you for the response.
In my personal opinion, slagman here seems to be the kind that picks his nose, and keeps it in a matchbox.
I hope that possum bites him a ‘special’ place and runs away.
@175.
Might be tough if he is taking a page out of Richard Gere’s experience.
Rough stuff, indeed.
Maggot.
Mega-smegma looks like the type whose weekend is ruined whenever his pet store is out of gerbils!
@ 177. Can I use that? That is awesome!
Be my guest, in Maggot-smegma-boy’s last rant, he looked madder than Richard Simmons, Gregory Banks, Psul the scrotum sniffer, and Gay-Jay “Major” all put together whenever their local pet stores run out of gerbils!
I saved images of Anthony Magsam’s supposed Honorable Discharge from Facebook last night and took delight when I discovered it does have blatant alterations, EUREKA!!!
On authentic discharge certificates, the former soldier’s name, rank, and service component are typed on a pre-printed black line between the following sets of words; “This is to certify that” & “was Honorably Discharged from the” which leads me to believe that the certificate Magsam used is photoshopped or purchased from those mills because he or who ever made could not competently align his name and the pre-printed line correctly!
Moreover, the signature line and location of the discharging officer information is also lacking the two pre-printed black lines. Again, who ever made this certificate could not for the sake of whatever line-up the signature, typed name, rank, and duty position without making a mess and decided to delete those lines in order to not f-up too much.
Let me know if you need the saved images of his discharge certificate.
Brownwwolf … Send may direct to Jonn for posting.
I am going to bed!
Exaugusteded!
MCPO,
On it, double-time!
Honorable Discharge Ceritificates were being sold a dime a dozen on E-bay. They are not used as “Proof of Service”, only a DD-214 is. I don’t even have either of my Certificates.
Even assuming for the sake of argument that Magsam’s discharge certificate is legit, it proves nothing other than he served in the US Army Reserve and was honorably discharged from same as a SGT. It does NOT prove that he ever deployed, was wounded in combat, or received any type of personal awards whatsoever.
It is entirely possible that someone discharged from the USAR enlisted on a “reserve only” contract in the late 1990s (2007-8 = 1999). If his unit didn’t deploy early during the GWOT, an individual on such an enlistment may well have transferred to the IRR as soon as their required time in a TPU was completed.
I seem to remember that such an option existed in the late 1990s, and that it required a commitment to serve a minimum of 4 years in a TPU – but I’m not positive about either of those. However, if my memory is correct that in turn could mean that that the individual’s only active duty service was IET.
Also, if Magsam ever served in the USAR his records would be available at NPRC. USAR service is Federal, not state, service.
Looks like we need to do a 2nd FOIA on this guy, this time maybe using complete name/DOB/place of birth/service/and approx dates.
As an aside: does anyone know the date on which COL Wood changed command with her predecessor at HRC-STL? I’ve been able to verify that she WAS NOT in command of HRC-STL in Apr 2007, but she did in fact take command sometime before mid-2008. If that didn’t happen before late Nov 2007, well, . . . .
This is something I ran down the other day….
“COL Good came to Human Resources Command-St. Louis in March 2006, serving as Chief of
Staff until assuming command in May 2007.”
http://www.defense.gov/dodcmsshare/BloggerAssets/2008-09/09290817022220080929_ColGood_bio.pdf
GDContractor: thanks. Could document that a different individual was in command in Apr 2007 and that COL Wood was in command in mid-2008, but couldn’t pinpoint when she took command.
May 2007 is close enough. The Honorable Discharge certificate in question with her signature (likely from an autopen) was from Nov 2007, so the signature doesn’t rule it out as fake.
Anthony Magsam is going to get Paul Wickre as his “lawer”! We’re in trouble now! 😀
See, I can still find you over here, SLAGMAN, you perfidious little creep.
I have seen several people incorrectly comment about MCs and their terminology. The use of the word “cut” is not uncommon and can be used interchangeably with “colors.” It is not limited to the 1%er Clubs nor is it only found on “Sons of Anarchy.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cut-off
Also, the term “Chaplain” isn’t used in the same way in an MC as it is in the military. A Chaplain in an MC is typically a patched member who is at least a little religious and says the prayers before church, a ride, or some other Club function
Wow. What a #hit storm ex-Officer Douchgasm stirred up. Never enter a gun fight with a Nerf gun.
I don’t know any Army NCO that would let people call them “Gunny”. Fake, Fraud. SOB
He’s a chihuahua messing with Sheepdogs, German Shepherds and Rottweilers!
I speak Marine/Navy and a little Army since joining TAH. What is the E-7 Offical title? Joe
@194 JW,
An Army E-7 = Sergeant First Class a.k.a. Platoon Sergeant in Infantry Regiments.
I just read all 195 comments, since I’ve been away from my laptop for a couple of days and missed the beginning of the “Gunny Tony” saga. My God this was fun to read….talk about complete destruction!!
Question is….I’m a retired PO and have a fair amount of experience with weapons; what the hell has Philly PD been doing to properly secure the contents of their Firearms Section?
Great job on this story, Jonn.
Buttplug.
Damn, I had almost forgotten about this twatwaffle before he went and tried to get TSO fired…
You and me both rb325th… funny how fast they fall off the front page and off our radar screen if they will just shut their mouths? Will they never learn?
Those without honor have no issues with being loud about themselves; it’s like their braying fills the empty space that is their life. He steals the honor of others. I just regret that no action can be taken against such thieves.
Holy shit! ManGasm is getting TSO fired?! This is unprecedented!
/sarc
Well, I’m snowed in. Guess all I can do is shovel snow today.
Or mess around with turds on TAH.
All. Day. Long.
@195, 194- Cliff Clavin here, (It’s a little known fact Sammy)according to FM 6-50, there is a position in the 3×6 platoon battery above the Howitzer section chief, and below platoon sergeant called “Gunnery Sergeant”. That being said, we call them “Smoke” (Chief of Smoke). No self respecting Smoke would call himself “Gunny”, unless he were actualy a USMC GSGT. I am reasonably sure Mr Masgam does not know the first thing about TLABSPAP, laying the battery or computing the min QE.
@Observer31 There may not be a whole of action, but there is pointing at the thief and calling him what he is.
You’d think that with drawing the attention of the Feds to how the Philly PD stored weapons, and oh, you know, having the SWAT team show up your (mom’s house’s) door to serve a warrant, would’ve meant Anthony “Mommy’s Boy” Magsam would’ve had a lot bigger legal problems on his mind than threatening to sue some bloggers.
@202.
“There may not be a whole of action”.
But there is, sir, there is.
In his mouth and in his ass.
Disgraced Cop and all-around Maggot.
Tm, life ain’t fair but this is just ridiculous. It’s not legal to impersonate a cop yet it’s perfectly fine to impersonate a soldier -active or retired- is SHIT. He can’t play cop anymore (the fact that he was actually allowed to resign is a total embarrassment) so he plays soldier.
You’re right in that this blog communicates truth but lookit his knee jerk reaction: hiding behind a false persona before being called out here, threatening to sue… For what? Slander? It kinda has to be FALSE in order for it to be slander. The only people who know are those googling his name. He doesn’t have to really worry about prospective employers googling him; he’s latched on pretty firmly to mom’s tit… He’s not about to let go.
So it boils down to Raging and Regret. The first in disgust and the second in resignation.
Maybe he will be able to team up with AJ Dickens when he is released.
