Since the elections are drawing near, I thought I would add something that occurred to me when I went outside to get the newspaper this morning. (Yes, I do still read the paper version. I use it for lots of other things, too.)
Politicians are kind of like these obnoxious black-and-red bugs that appear out of nowhere right around this time of year.
They are called box elder bugs. They serve no purpose other than to annoy the local citizenry. They infest every corner of society. They do not feed any plant or insect or bird as a payoff.
In fact, like any politician, they only seem to feed themselves. You can’t get rid of them.
If you open the door and they’re sitting on the storm door, and you’re dumb enough to open it and go outside (as I did), they land on you and won’t go away unless you smash them flat.
For some odd reason, they always appear at this time of year, right around the election season, and as soon as the sunshine, warm weather, and voters go away, they disappear, only to reappear the next time an election rolls around.
This being a presidential election year, they have appeared in all sizes and shapes, crawling on the side of the house, landing in my hair and my mailbox, and blocking my windshield when I try to drive my car. One was so bold and intent on getting my attention that it landed on a windshield wiper and stayed there until I finally turned on the sprayer and washed him away.
If only it were so easy to deal with politicians. But they’ll be back next year, right around fall elections, and we’ll all just have to deal with them again. I’ve found that Fantastik is quite effective in getting rid of them. I wonder if it would work on Joe Biden.
On a side note, unfortunately looks like Lindsay Lohan will not be able to vote:

Sheesh. There goes the coke-blowing bisexual vote… :-/
Here’s something you’ll all enjoy reading:
http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/12/14402669-shot-fired-at-obama-campaign-office-in-denver?lite
The article indicates thate the police have a ‘vehicle of interest’. So, if I understand it correctly, the vehicle took the potshot?
I would feel more comfortable with Sippy or Tim Ramey in there as Obama’s VP.
