Law enforcement sources have also revealed that Livelsberger previously served at the same military base as New Orleans terrorist Shamsud Din Jabbar, who drove a truck into a crowd killing many people.
Livelsberger has served in the Army for 19 years, the majority of which was spent in the Special Forces unit.

If he was in the Army for 19 years, it means he was one year away from retirement. The Daily Mail out of the UK suggests that he harbored some anti-Trump sentiment, along with his wife.
As more facts come forward, perhaps we will get a better idea.
