Some departments got Purple Heart in Police Department. I know in Humble, TX to get one is pretty fucking hard to do. Most of those departments in Texas, you gotta have a SERIOUS injury that pretty much near incapacitate you.

Then again, I don’t know any police officer that brags about getting a Purple Heart commendation.

That is what a lot of places call pretend police officers – to make it VERY clear that the subject of the discussion is NOT a real police officer. It can even mean that the subject of the discussion may be allowed to be armed but only under some very specific circumstances (like while on the premises he is being paid to guard at night), as opposed to commissioned officers who are required to be armed at all times under many more circumstances.
Texas police used to be required to be commissioned, which meant that they had passed a psych eval, had knowledge and proficiency with weaponry, formal schooling at an approved police academy and a bunch of other stuff. After all that they were certified as peace officers. Rent-a-cops are not peace officers.
Apparently Denny Penny is not a certified/commissioned peace officer, among the many other things he is not.
Yeah sad, even Comm operators for PD in some divisions get sworn in and take psych test along with polygraph.
I was wondering if Dennis was a rent a cop at some point. I am guessing he has criminal transgressions on his record.
