I guess the media will never learn. Just An Old Dog sent us some links about this guy several weeks ago and Mary sent off for his records. His name is James H “Manse” Towery. He claims that he did 15 deployments, that he has two Purple Hearts and 27 medals. Here, this is what he told the Seattle Times in 2011;
And here he’s telling his sad tale to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2010;
But, the Marine Corps says, “Who?”

Wow, he’s so bad ass that he did 15 deployments in 4 years. I must have been a real slacker in the Navy, we only did two deployments and workups in that whole time.
The second photo is from Nov 2005. In it, he appears to be wearing all the same medals/decorations he’s wearing in the first photo.
Busy guy. Two PHs and 15 deployments by Nov 2005 – that’s barely 4 years! Hell, he was moving so much and so fast that it’s no wonder the USMC “lost his records”! (smile)
The guy on the far right in the 2nd photo (right above the date) seems to be quite the stud, though.

The average deployment for Marines is 6 to 8 months. So if he did 15 deployments at 6 months a pop that’s 7 1/2 years, just in the dirt.

The center portrait proves this Marine is totally legit. Everyone knows (including most photographers) – left shoulder forward and flag to its own right. Here in this portrait he has the standard what do I do next look, mug shot stance and the flag on the wrong side. I guess we can attribute THIS to his PDTS.
Ex-PH2: a 2″x5″ is quite the stud too – as well as a truly hard-to-find and custom one. Most are either 2″x4″ or 2″x6″. (smile)
I love how every photo of him in a uniform on his FB page is him in a dress uniform. Not one “everyday” type of pic.
I spent 20 years in the Navy and, if you don’t include cruisebook photos, I have a grand total of like 2 pictures of me in my Dress Blues.
Finally, we have a Marine Corps Communications poser. I feel worthy now. Not sure if he claims to be a 2800 (comm maintenance) or 2500 (radio breaker), but regardless, it is comforting to see someone pathetic enough to want to imitate my career field.

@14. Who can’t do that? There are a number of ways to do it. The obvious is that you hold the wire in your left hand beneath your cell phone and punch the long-distance phone number in with your right. Another way depends on the wire’s gauge. If it’s standard phone wire, then you take a length, fold, twist, and then use it hit the numbers on the cell phone.
This guy was lambasted on one of the face book pages when he started calling everybody whiners. That’s when he claimed 15 deployments and 2 “purples”. He has multiple pictures of himself at events (Memorial Day, Ball games etc) He has jump wings that magically appear and disappear through out. He was sporting “catch me fuck me” shades at one event. He is wearing a set of white trousers in one of the photos of him in the blues, which doesn’t happen unless a CO of a command makes them the required uniform. He mixes his wound stories up from interview to interview , In one he was shot in the face in A Stan then in the leg with RPG schrapnel in Iraq, then the other paper says he survived a gunshot wound to the chest.

I was wondering where his scuba bubble and jump wings were? He is a true POS, taking a slot in a veterans training program that a real veteran could have used. Though I am an army veteran, and not a marine veteran, I would love to break a foot off in this turds ass. He makes my blood boil.
Hondo, I meant 2×6. Not enough caffeine. However, a 2×5 is closer to the 2×4 width than an actual 2×4, which is almost a half-inch shy of the 4″ width. The cut makes for more lumber from one tree, more product to sell.
Old Dog, those are not actual jump wings. Those are the Golden Snitch used in the third ball used in a game of Quidditch, which is played on broomsticks. If you’re really good at Quidditch, you can seize the Golden Snitch and get the win for your team.
The reason those wings come and go on Elmer Fudd’s dress blouse there is that when not being pursued by the students at Hogwarts, the Golden Snitch hides on POS posers’ uniforms as fake jump wngs or fake pilot’s wings.

Marines 2004-2008. Graduated from the Marine Corps Institute in 2004. Survived 2 combat tours of duty in Fallujah,Iraq. NCO, etc, etc.
Really served 2004-2008 with one 2007 deployment in HQ as an Admin Clerk Corporal.
If you look at his Facebook photos, he got married in his dress blues and has an eagle, globe and anchor tattoo. What kind of sick f@ck would do that? Al his dress blues shots look to be either civilian studio shots or small local ceremonies with mostly VFW types involved. That would mean he would be less likely to be called out. There’s another guy in one of the pictures who is stacked up more than he is,,, more than likely a fellow poser.
The real estate side looks to be more of a side line, as he listed jobs as a pastry chef in a few places too.

Calling the Marine Recruiters office in Atlanta tommorow. Figure that can take lunch at this restaurant, maybe strike up a conversation with Mr Lance. Also I check 2nd Marine Div tank Battalion. That’s the unit he claims to have been with and according to their history they’ve never been deployed to Afghanistan. Anyway as I ssaid before, I’ll be down that way at the end of the month. I’ll have to look him up.
I clicked through this dudes Facebook photos and noticed that all the pictures are of outside of the building and security fences, areas accessible to the public. There are no pictures of him or his buddies inside the fence.
Eight years in the Marine Corps and I might have two pics of the exterior of the hangars where I worked. I bet I’ve got a hundred inside of them though.
