Shame

| March 11, 2013

This blog is about shaming people – we shame people who dress up in costumes and try to be something they aren’t. We shame people who believe things that aren’t true. We shame people who commit crimes against the rest of us. We shame journalists who don’t do their research. Unfortunately, there’s collateral damage to our business. People who aren’t a part of the process get splattered by the blood and guts of the people who we eviscerate on these pages.

I’ve been in an email exchange over the last few days with someone who is upset that we exposed the leader of his little club as a pretender. Somehow it’s my fault, and I’m supposed to backtrack on the story because of an upcoming event that this club was supposed to be involved with. No, I don’t think so.

Last week, a lawyer representing Phillip Monkress called to ask us to take down the posts and comments about him because it was damaging his business. We didn’t do that either. Since the Supreme Court won’t let the government punish the phonies, this is the only thing we have left to police our ranks. I’m pretty sure that no one here cares that Monkress’ business is failing.

I don’t care that Dick Stoops didn’t get into the Missouri National Guard Hall of Fame, based on his lies, either. I don’t care that Ike Densmore killed himself because of his lies. I don’t care that Todd Hamilton‘s charity fell to pieces.

What I do care about is that people understand that there are now consequences for their bad behavior. Apparently most people weren’t taught that by their parents, I guess that part of their childhood development is left to TAH.

But, what I’m really tired of are the empty threats to my health and well-being. I’m not doing all of this and hiding behind a screen. I use my real name and I put the TAH Corporate Headquarters on Google Earth, so anyone can get driving directions and come up to visit anytime they want – I’m always home.

This Ain't Hell

I guess my whole point is this; if you don’t want to be shamed on TAH, don’t do shameful things. Before you write that email telling me what a scumbag I am, think about the scumbag you’re defending. And, if you really want to kick my ass or anything else, use the map and say it to my face. Or STFU.

Jonn, it’s the nature of the beast. There is always someone that will blame their exposure, not their lies as the source of their problems.

If someone is a phony, you call them out. If they are the real deal, then you give credit where credit is due.

Keep calm and carry on.

Jonn,

Please send an email to the lawyer representing Phillip Monkress.

Ask the lawyer if Phillip Monkress will be in NYC tonite at the event.

If he says no … then tell him to f*ck himself …

Jonn you are spot on about the likes Phillip Monkress and the law slime that represents such scumbags.

They are all worthless in our world and you should not be deterred!

Keep up the good work John. Stupidity, or acts therof should hurt, thats how people learn not to do them.

I’m glad for the address, the next time I have to drive through to Ft. Meade from Ohio, I’m stopping by and dropping off the case of beer.

Jonn, this goes to a larger issue prevalent in our society that can in many cases be boiled down to a single word: INTEGRITY, or rather, the lack thereof.

I’ve heard many definitions of the word, but the best single one I’ve heard is where you do the right thing even if nobody is looking. From the time I was a wee lad, honesty, truth, and INTEGRITY were drilled into me. By the time I was “introduced” to the integrity concept in the nuke pipeline (ask nucsnipe, teddy, or former3364 how it’s drilled into our heads) it was no great deal.

But now? Situational ethics, the “he’s doing it so why can’t I” syndrome, etc., have created a society of people out for themselves and fuck everyone else. These “people” who pose as what they are not are just the most obvious examples of such. They have (had) no integrity, no honor, and no courage.

As has been pointed out many times here, while the veterans as a whole value honor, courage, commitment, and integrity more than their civilian counterparts, by no means does every single member of the organization do so, just as by no means is every single civilian a shitbag out for his/herself.

One need never fear the truth, provided that’s what they’re telling.

ohio

Hang in there John, you are doing what is right.

I’m with you 100%. As a matter of fact I don’t think the phony’s are shamed enough. I would love to see each and every one of them exposed in their local community newspapers and tv outlet. I’d like to see their parents as well as them shamed and banished and embarrassed for knowingly not exposing them themselves. This holds true also for any ‘friends or associates’ they may have that was aware of the deception. They are as guilty as the fraud. To use the military to gain respect, acknowledgement, fame, or whatever their motive is the same as walking up to a dead serviceman’s grave and pissing on it. 90% of them to much a coward to ever even try to serve or couldn’t hack it and were kicked out. And then to later try to jump on the glory wagon is beyond being a scumbag in my book. It makes my day more then anything when I one exposed. Thank you for rooting these maggots out of the sewer

I wonder how many people are suing him. After all, he made claims that, given his business, were arguably aimed at inducing people to contract for his services. Most lies are protected speech but that has nothing to do with making claims to induce people to spend their money where they wouldn’t have but for those claims. The notion that you are interfering with his business–the tort of intereference with contract–is laughable. I camn hear it now: “Yes, your honor. My client lied but Jonn Lilyea prevented my client’s lies from being believed and this hurt my client’s business.”

They deserve to be exposed. Drive On Jonn.

SwoMyGosh

Keep up the good fight

NHSparky

Not to mention the fact that a lot of those set-asides based on his claims could now well go bye-bye, not to mention the feds possibly wanting a little payback for false claims.

We’ve seen cases of guys who used false credentials to get preferential treatment get caught and spend some time in federal PMITA prison for it.

Not saying this is the case, but certainly wouldn’t surprise me if that was within the realm of possibility….

Monkey see, Monkey do. I realize that is not “Politically Correct” considering. But the American public sees and hears our politicians do it enough that they feel its all right for them to do it. Where does it all stop. We have your back, Those that want to be something that they are not need to just stand up and accept their lives, not mimic others who have been there.

Jonn, keep fighting the good fight! Don’t let the bastards get you down, you have more friends and supporters than you will ever know.

NR Pax

Jonn, I enjoy watching the fakes get outed and I like how there are lawyers that think you’ll back down.

God Bless ya, Jonn. I know that sometimes it’s frustrating as hell having to wade through ll this crap, but I’m greatful you have taken point.

If you ever need help with all the Navy verbiage, etc, give Sparky or me a holler.

Jonn, there are folks all over the place who read your blog to get away from all the MSM garbage and PC BS. I’m one of them. I found your blog while I was hunting around looking for infomation on what was going on in Iraq/Afghanistan that wasn’t being fictionalized by leftist “journalists.”

You and your blog are important, and I hope you keep right on going.

Exposing his lies has hurt his business?

In our current society the leaders of the nation lie to your face and suffer no consequence, we have liars in the Senate and the House who are continually re-elected and apparently have nothing to fear from the massive untruths they tell every year. The Supreme Court determines that lying about what you did and where is not a crime unless you are gaining something of value, a few drinks and some female company apparently of no value in the eyes of the Court….. Our celebrities are drug addicted liars and fornicators, as are many of our top professional athletes… When a society has as its’ leaders and heroes a group of people whose morality is suspect at best and clearly reprehensible (if not downright criminal) at worst it’s easy to see how many of those in that society assume that success is afforded the liars and cheats as that is what they see on the news and in other media every day. They assume if an attorney general can accept responsibility for the deaths of 80 people while trying to serve a warrant to a single individual without losing her job that telling a couple of lies about what a great soldier they were to get or keep their job isn’t all that far removed. After all they’ve seen the president wave his finger in their face and tell them that he wasn’t having sex while on the job, or the current president and his attorney general claim they no nothing about Benghazi or Fast n Furious…without any repercussions. They see celebrities who commit adultery every day being rewarded with high paying movie contracts or recording monies….they see massive steroid abuse resulting in a few guys not getting in the hall of fame but not losing the fortunes these guys made while abusing the steroids…. Based on all of that you could argue our society favors the liars and cheats, after all the honest folks serving their nation can’t even get their legitimate claims processed in a timely fashion and will see their health care diminished while the costs… Read more »

Come on, John, you know that in this day and age it is never the individual at fault – they were the victims of society and fate, Mommy and Daddy were mean to them growing up. They just keep repeating “It’s not my fault!” in their heads :).

FatCircles0311

John, I wish I could come say it to your face with a 6 pack.

Keep exposing those turds for all of us honorable vets!

If you are ever in Gulf Breeze, FL – I would love to buy you drinks and a great steak dinner to say thanks!!! But look now. If we lived in a state where virtue was profitable… common sense would make us saintly.

But since we see that avarice, anger, pride and stupidity…
commonly profit far beyond charity, modesty, justice and thought… perhaps we must stand fast a little…

People of questionable morals will consider honest folks chumps

My morals are fine, yet I still feel like a chump for busting my ass 60-70 hours a week just to have nearly half of it taken away from me and given to those who would game the system to their own benefit to fund their own sloth and laziness.

And no, it’s not surprising to me that so many nearing 60 are doing their damndest to say, “Fuck it” and get on SS or disability as quickly as they can in order to get SOMETHING back from what they’ve put in all their lives. A lifetime spent contributing to a lie? We know the system is fucked, but those who are taking surely don’t give a fuck, and those who are being taken from know they have little to no recourse.

The fish rots from the head. Then again, we keep sending the same smelling fish back, expecting it to turn into roses and wine.

Call the attorney and ask him and Poser Phil to help you find your MOH.

Have fun with these turkeys.

Of course you’re to blame for the misfortunes of those exposed here. Just like a cop is to blame for taking away the freedom of a criminal, or the Army is to blame for a lackluster Soldier getting an Other-Than-Honorable discharge. Can we expect any different response from the detritus of American society that does not expect to be held accountable for their actions?

Keep exposing them; this blog makes a difference, and it would not surprise me if some would-be phonies have changed their minds after stumbling across these pages.

Old Tanker

You wouldn’t be getting any grief if you weren’t having a real effect…Thank you!! Carry on!!

MAJMike

Heh! Drive on, Jonn!

valerie

Carry on. I have discovered that those who decide to choose the path of dishonor can find all kinds of ways to blame anybody else for the consequences of their own bad acts. So, I’m not impressed by some jerk who complains that he got exposed doing exactly what he did.

And I’ve watched the mental and emotional deterioration brought about by the kind of twisted thinking such people employ. A person who does something he knows is wrong, and then twists himself all out of shape in an effort to justify it, loses the ability and the energy to think. I’ve seen the results up close and personal in two different settings, and it is heart-rending to watch a man destroy himself, and often, his family.

The results are worse if nobody resists the actions of an evildoer. Failure to call an evildoer out on his actions gets interpreted as approval by the children. You don’t want anybody’s children thinking that they are supposed to respect someone whose actions are despicable.

There should be a T.V. show on that exposes these posers, sorta like “America’s Most Wanted”. That’d likely do the trick, and would even have a comedic spin to it for those posers who are truly laughable.

Jonn, you are a lawyer magnet. Plain and simple. Love it and before all us climb on the horse heading to Fiddlers Green, I think we’re long overdue for a reunion, food and drink. How about that mexican restaurant that was just down the street from NIH?
