Yes, they did say that

It’s just hard to believe what comes out of some peoples’ mouths. I have to say, I am a bit disappointed – AOC can usually be counted on to say something really stupid, but lately she seems to have been more circumspect. I think she is hoping to be Bernie Sanders’ VP running mate (which in itself is -ah, “questionable” on so many fronts – and they are maybe telling her to shut up and let Mamdani do all the podiatric mouth insertion.
But, like Bogie and Ilsa who “always have Paris”, we have Jasmine Crockett. Representing the south side of Dallas in Congress (which tells you something about the electorate there) Ms. Crockett is still good for a quote. Just not good for an intelligent quote.
Crockett spoke with talk show host Sherri Shepherd, who asked Crockett about some of her more viral moments in Congress, noting her spat with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
“There’s no preparation for that. But I’m a Black woman in America. So… some people are just like, ‘Oh, but you’re a congresswoman.’ I’m a Black woman first,” Crockett responded.
She continued, “The level of disrespect that is continuously lobbed against us as Black women, you know, for me, I’m like, ‘Wait a minute now. I am one of the 535 most powerful people in this country, and for some reason you think we on the same level, but you going to disrespect me?’
First off, I am pretty sure that a lame-duck Congresscritter who got stomped running in a Senate primary isn’t perceived as powerful on any level.
Second – the most powerful folks in the country are not necessarily those in higher political office. Think any of us could come up with a whole list of folks who move and shake – names like Musk, Gates, Koch, any number of CEOs, some governors – who actually have some real clout. Heck, even the Soros family makes her look like an also-ran, like them or not. Fox News
And Jasmine thinks she is on a higher level than you or I. She’s speshul… in her own mind. Sure shows the “me versus the little people” mindset of someone who thinks they are ‘the ruling class’.

And then there is Ilhan Omar, our least favorite Somali import. Gotta love someone who is supposedly a leader who can’t count – or apparently reason.
While giving a speech to introduce a piece of legislation, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar said, “The last time the Alien Enemies Act was invoked it was used to detain and deport German, Japanese, Italian immigrants during World War Eleven.” Snopes
I can almost forgive part of this – quick glance, Roman numerals – yeah, it may look like an 11 instead of a 2/II. But wouldn’t you think that anyone with half a brain would think “what world war eleven?” She added more wars into history than Trump took credit for stopping – that’s going some. Obviously a Biden-trained teleprompter speaker. Makes the teleprompter scene in “Bruce Almighty” seem real, doesn’t it.

And we’ll close with Zohran Mamdani, who is certainly willing to spend money he hasn’t got:
Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration has earmarked $500,000 for the Commission on Racial Equity to fund community discussions on reparations and a Truth, Healing, and Reconciliation plan. More than two dozen groups will receive up to tens of thousands of dollars each to host conversations, gather testimony, and offer participant incentives. The decision comes as the city faces a $5.4 billion budget deficit, highlighting the tension between equity programs and fiscal constraints. USSANews
I guess when you’re already down f billion bucks, a half-million looks like chump change.
Reminds me of a meme an old friend posted this weekend: Instead of the government trying to tax or confiscate more funds from certain groups, we should be more interested in what the government is actually spending the money on.

Apparently the use of proper English is not a requirement for serving as a member of Congress.
That’s “Ghetto Chic”!
She learned to speak it in the Juris Doctor program at University of Houston. That way she could speak the native tongue of the Nickle while providing them with legal services.
Yeah Hack, she be knows how to speak correctly and intelligently. I heard her speak several years ago on a video that was at the time a few years old. She be just talkin ghetto to rake in the votes….which apparently did not work too well.
Let’s not forget that she did grow up in the lap of luxury, private boarding high school, an exclusive private college, then she pops out “being ghetto”, IMHO she’s as genuine as a polyester Civil War uniform!
You can say the same thing about her Squad Member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who claims to be a homegirl from The Bronx, but spent a majority of her early life in Yorktown New York. The most incredible part of her resume is that she had to attend Boston University and get a degree in International relations in order to secure a job as a bartender in New York City. Instead of going tens of thousands in debt, she could have spent a few hundred bucks to attend a weekend bartenders course.
You can make arguments for the Seven Years War and the Napoleonic Wars being “World Wars” but they certainly aren’t called that.
Yeah, but you can’t make an argument in her defense to try and hide her f-ing stupidity.
all these hate American black demoRats millionairs call themselves african Americans, and the same goes for those muslims in office who pull the same shit,, and Black Conservatives consider themselves Americans leaving their skin color out of it…
Yeah, I never did understand the African American thing. Then again, I guess that makes me a German, English, American Indian American? That’s a mouthful. I’m very proud of all of my ancestry and heritage, particularly my American Indian blood lines, but me thinks I’ll just stick with being a good ole American and damn proud of it. BTW, I knew a black guy years ago who said to me and a few other coworkers that he was American, not African American. He went on to say that he is not from Africa, has never been there, would never want to go there and probably has other ancestry in him anyway so he’s an American. Period. End of story.
There was a Black American author/journalist who made a trip to Africa many years ago to get in touch with what he then considered his “roots.” Anyway, he was horrified and depressed with what he found. He couldn’t wait to get back to the good ol’ USA. He subsequently wrote that African countries were largely a disaster where mostly nothing good happens. He said it gave him a whole new insight into how lucky he is that some of his ancestors ended up here instead of staying in Africa. Wish I could remember his name. His story was about 30 to 40 years ago.
It’s been said that after Muhammad Ali saw parts of Africa, it made him happy that he was born and raised in the USA!

Committee and sub-committee assignments determine how powerful a congress critter really is. They can kill or rewrite bills in committee and build consensus for a floor vote.

Some of the caucuses can be powerful if they can induce their members to vote as a bloc. Not saying the Bagel and Sneaker Caucus aren’t powerful, just kind of doubt it.
World War’s 6-9, a lot of people ate it, just saying, have some respect…
Barney Frank has entered the chat:
Frank, who is also set to release a book later this year, noted that Democrats have lost the plot on how to push progressive issues in this day and age. ‘We didn’t get to marriage until after these other things had been resolved,’ Frank told Tapper. ‘And that’s what I’m suggesting that we do today. The analogy is males and female transsexuals playing sports that are for women.’
‘I understand there’s a lot of anger about that,’ he added. ‘And I think, in the interest of the transgender community, as well as others, it would be better to go at that in a more granular way, and not simply announce that, if you don’t support it, you’re a homophobe.’
‘But I am concerned that, among some in my party, there has been a flavor-of-the-month tendency, so that someone who is new and hasn’t been able to do much is somehow preferred over people who understand the importance of hard work to get controversial things adopted,’ Frank added.

I still remember the scandal when Bawney Fwank’s boyfriend was caught cruising around high schools!
And when said boyfriend was running a gay brothel out of their Georgetown condo/townhouse/whatever. 🤣
As for Ilhan Omar….maybe that bitch could have been an American History teacher in one of the Learing Centers.
American History X teacher. Just saying.
Jazzy, it ain’t about your race or gender. Don’t flatter yourself. You’re an idiot. And idiots come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and genders.
She once thought she was going to be a latter-day female Ben Crump with her law practice suing police over cop abuse and excessive force, but she apparently needed regular paychecks as a politician.
Well, working on contingency can be difficult if you can’t get clients or win cases!🤣
Don’t I know it. Personally experienced that PI racket for over a year with a fellow attorney partner. His parting advice to me: “You better go get a job before we both have our houses in foreclosure.” So, I ended up back at my old firm of 9 lawyers and doing insurance defense and business litigation.
I just wonder many places Mamdani “has his fingers in the pudding” so far, how many kickbacks is he getting?
If you have to insert your race as a prefix to your qualifications….you are not qualified.
