Families outraged after no charges filed in Detroit gas station shooting that left three people dead
Wayne County prosecutors say there is not enough evidence to prove the shooter did not act in self-defense during the fatal confrontation.

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The man who shot and killed three people at a Detroit gas station on Sunday will not face charges after prosecutors determined he acted in self-defense.Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office announced Wednesday afternoon that a warrant will be denied due to insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect did not act in lawful self-defense and defense of others. The shooter was released from police custody early Wednesday.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the confrontation at the west side gas station followed a crash on the road, a pursuit, and someone pointing a gun at another car. The three people killed — Lester Owens III, Trevor Sheeler, and Jasmine Sheeler— were seen getting out of their car, opening the driver’s door of another vehicle, and getting into a physical altercation with the driver. A man in the rear of that car then fired the fatal shots.

I understand families are grieving but the video clearly shows the three blocking the other car in and then attacking the driver. Great shooting under pressure.
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks.

“Mah babies iz ded. How will we evah pay for our hair weaves and malt likkeh, wif’out dah monies dey wuz bringin’ in. We didn’ ax wheh dey wuz gettin’ it, we wuz jus’ glad to gets it. Oh mah poor babies.”
They can sue the shooter’s car insurance, they got deep pockets. /s/
I’m sure the deceased will be portrayed as altar boys who “dint do nuffin” bad ever. They were just horsing around with their friend in the other car, that’s all…
I’m curious, Jefferson mentioned games played with the ball and other ones that were “too violent for the body”. I seriously doubt tackle football was invented during his time, so what games were they playing then? I understand polo was around then but hardly a contact sport.
