Iran fires retaliatory strikes: One killed

| February 28, 2026 | 54 Comments

Iran targeted several Gulf Arab states in retaliatory strikes: leaving one dead as of the time of reporting. The targeted nations had a U.S. military presence. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard declared that “criminal U.S. bases” had been struck by “powerful blows” and that Iran’s operation will continue until “the enemy is decisively defeated.” As a part of his message on this event, President Donald Trump told Iran’s Revolutionary Guard to lay down their weapons.

From Reuters:

“All occupied territories and the criminal U.S. bases in the region have been struck by the powerful blows of Iranian missiles. This operation will continue relentlessly until the enemy is decisively defeated,” Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said.

LOUD BOOMS, GREY SMOKE

Bahrain confirmed an attack inside its territory and said a service center of the U.S. Fifth Fleet had been struck. Video from a Reuters witness showed a plume of grey smoke rising near the small island nation’s coast as sirens wailed.

Loud booms were heard across Abu Dhabi, according to five witnesses including two Reuters correspondents. Some residents received a phone alert telling them to shelter in the closest secure building and stay away from windows because of missile threats.

One witness told Reuters she heard five booms in rapid succession that caused windows in a house near Abu Dhabi’s Corniche to vibrate. Other witnesses in the Al Dhafra and Bateen areas heard loud booms as well.

Fighter jets could be seen flying around the Yas Island area of Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon.

In Qatar, the military said in a statement that it had intercepted incoming Iranian missiles before they reached Qatari territory after “joint coordination”. Several successive waves of blasts were heard in the Qatari capital Doha.

After the U.S. Embassy issued a warning to take shelter in Doha, many residents carried on their usual activities. Shoppers were in supermarkets, beachgoers headed to the seaside and a yellow double-decker tour bus filled with tourists drove through the city’s West Bay district.

Since all the stories indicate a “retaliatory strike” I can only assume someone put warheads on foreheads in iran. I haven’t seen anything about that other than a claim a girls school was hit. Somehow I doubt much of any school for girls is present in iran.

Disregard the question, I just saw the thread about it a couple articles down the page. I do find it ironic that what I saw on the “news” was pretty much only about the retaliation, not the US strikes.

I’d be celebrating too if I lived there.

Lots of incoming on US facilities in the region but no casualties reported so far.

Sapper3307

No touching.

We got some sh*t staged for this over there;

They even shot at down town Riyadh.

So much for generating sympathy.

Wow, they’re cutting their own wrists and throat at the same time!

I just found out we have military families there for some reason?

A Proud Infidel®™

So now Iran is getting its neighbors even more pissed off at them, brilliant move!

Just waiting for the obligatory pro-Iranian protestors to show up in NY, DC, and LA.

Speaking of which, when will AOC file articles of impeachment for Trump breaking international law?

Never forget what you are fighting for.

Before you all get angsty…I am absolutely in support of the Iranian people overthrowing their regime.

And I am not against the US assisting in that.

But that is not what this is, even if it results in regime change, this is an asinine way to go about it.

Partnering with both Israel and Saudi Arabia, Iran’s greatest adversaries, makes it far more likely that Iranian people will rally around the flag, Iranian nationalism, and the regime while making it easier for the regime to frame anyone opposing the regime as traitors to Iran.

This attack is an agenda. One that is not in the interests of the American people or the United States. We are serving as a puppet for Saudi and Israeli interests. Again.

All while allowing the administration to change the domestic political narrative for a while.

I guess you preferred the Biden way of giving incoherent speeches between naps and “vitamin” shots to accomplish absolutely nothing in four years. Allowing Iran to build up a huge weapons program to support Russia’s attack in the Ukraine and launch the largest terror attack in the history of the Middle East.

Because the Iranians really liked that strategy too.

Good talk.

Commissar

If you think Trump’s speeches are coherent you have not seen many of them.

Not a Lawyer

Not sure how anyone could miss them.

He has given more speeches and answered more questions from reporters than sleepy Joe did in 4 years as President, 8 years as VP and way too many years as a Senator. No teleprompter required either.

SFC D

Frankly, he’s far more coherent than you.

SFC D

With all your wisdom, your advanced knowledge, why oh why are you ranting helplessly in a veteran’s forum and not participating or directing a national security organization? The answer is quite simple. It’s because you are a complete fraud, incapable of anything resembling an original thought, your strength is parroting what you’ve been told to say. Most of us have paid attention to Iran since 1979. You bring nothing to the table.

Dismissed.

nbcguyACTUAL

We’re just finishing what they started back in 1979.

I knew there was love in your heart but didn’t know it was so sweaty, torrid and illegal. You have my sympathy though, pining for him the rest of your days as you surely are.

So let me get this straight: You are attempting to counter TAH, which you describe as an echo chamber, with quotes from a Reddit echo chamber? Did you really think that all the way through?

The nation’s education system has failed you.

Of course, YOU did; you’re a Democrat and he was your peeps’ top “it’s all about who you know” buddy for years. I got a picture of your mom in my K-pot.

Iran just turned folks who might have been allies or neutral into enemies.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

Firing rockets at the rest of the Arab States shows the level of panic, loss of discipline, and command & control. You knew they’d attack Israel, so that’s why the Ford is in position. The IDF cut the heads of Hezbollah to secure they’re Northern Flank. I hope the Iranian/Persian people can free themselves from yoke of the Islamic Theocracy and win their freedom with minimal bllodshed.

It is official, SA has joined the fight.

So sharing Fox News, I am not unaware of political bias! This article does a good timeljne tracking of how the “spontaneous” protests over US attacking Iran happened over night, and in some cases 10 minutes before the President actually informed the public. It is a very good read about how these protesters and events happen so quickly. I did not realize the level of coordination, but hey I work for a living so that’s probably why.

Iran knew before the president’s announcement obviously, because things were getting burny.

What was the last known location of that Iranian Navy vessel again? Somebody might want to check on life rafts reported in the area.

Iran is getting 1/100th of the hammering it has earned for itself since 1979 and the only people angry about in the entire world are the Dems and some goat-loving niche populations in Lebanon and Yemen. And the commissar.

Forest Bondurant

The bombing campaign should last 445 days, to allow sufficient time to destroy every facet of the Iranian regime, air defense network, tactical missiles, all military hardware and leadership, nuclear research sites, and any radical faction that might try to replace the current leadership.

I won’t believe the Ayatollah and all other senior leaders are on display for the world to see. Pictures, or it didn’t happen.

Leave the important infrastructure that the Iranian people need to move on with their daily lives.

YMMV…
