The folks at Military Phonies share their work with us on this William Earl Satterfield fellow who claims that he is a Sergeant First Class and a veteran of the Somalia operation and that he was wounded there in an article at My Eastern Shore Maryland;
“We will clothe and feed 36 homeless in Chestertown, half of them are veterans,” said Purple Heart recipient SFC Bill Satterfield, who served with the U.S. Army in Somalia. Now Satterfield serves veterans on the Mid-Shore, as part of the non-profit organization Mid-Shore Recovering Veterans Group.
“When you come back, life is upside down … backwards. I relate to these guys. And not all of the homeless vets are guys,” said Satterfield, who has aided a homeless female veteran in Chestertown.
“Talk about vets giving back, Bill’s a vet serving veterans in Queen Anne’s County and now Kent County,” said Royce Ball, co-founder (along with Marion Gannon) of Mid-Shore Recovering Veterans Group. “He understands what vets go through today.”
Yeah, no, not according to the National Personnel Records Center;
Sattersfield was in the Maryland National Guard for 2 years with four months active duty for training and no deployments, certainly not to Somalia. His service ended two years before the Somalia deployment even began. He was discharged as a Private (E-2).
He does have records that aren’t at NPRC, though;

Satterfield VS Maryland and brings up a PDF document by the courts showing his conviction was overturned and why. Certainly not defending him in anyway. I read it and have my opinion. But I want my opinion to be based on facts and they are there.

OK, reading the paperwork, William E. Satterfield was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse of his daughter “K”.
The conviction was voided and the case remanded to the lower court because of some technical problems with the voir dire process.
In the “unreported” court finding, William Earl Satterfield admits to being a drunk who is told, repeatedly, that while drunk he fondles women’s breasts – which is what he apparently did with his daughter when she was 11 and 13. He reportedly does not remember what he does when drunk.
I do not know what the outcome of the remanded case was. But it is fair to say that William Earl Satterfield has been convicted of two counts of sexual assault of his daughter, although the convictions have been vacated pending the outcome of a remanded consideration with the voir dire problems remedied.

Actually he is currently incarcerated and is going through trail for the stolen valor and for the charges against his daughter along with violation of probation for being seen with a young boy and for running when issued a warrant they found him in Delaware. He got 5-7 yrs

I can verify this info he was sentenced for molesting me(hello daughter her) don’t claim him, he is a registered sex offender, currently incarcerated got out and re arrested for violation of probation because he was caught with a young boy but was on the run and caught in Sandtown de and now has been sentenced to 5+ He is a worthless piece of shit he made a lot of lives a living hell, I will never claim him nor have anything good to say because he is a fucking scum bag, we went to trial and was convicted by the jury within a half hour.. all the evidence was there and I had a great team of people on my side to serve him right unfortunately he’ll never go through what I did and he is still better off then he has ever been, three free meals, no bills to pay and my taxes are paying it all… bastard
What you describe is not something anyone should have to endure. For that the punishment really doesn’t seem sufficient, but is much better than nothing.

I understand the technical aspects of this case regarding why the convictions were vacated. The prosecuting court was clearly operating in full on head up their ass mode regarding evidentiary rules and admissible statements.
So he’s not a convicted molester, merely an un-convicted potential molester with convenient alcohol induced amnesia….my guess is this case won’t be retried.
His conviction was Vacated on September 4, 2015 and sent back to the county for another trial.
Jonn’s last attachment shows a conviction in the same county on January 14, 2016.
Not 100% that it is the same case, but 3rd Degree Sexual Offense which is:
§3–307. Sexual Offense in the Third Degree
(a) A person may not:
(1) (i) engage in sexual contact with another without the consent of the other; and
(ii) 1. employ or display a dangerous weapon, or a physical object that the victim reasonably believes is a dangerous weapon;
2. suffocate, strangle, disfigure, or inflict serious physical injury on the victim or another in the course of committing the crime;
3. threaten, or place the victim in fear, that the victim, or an individual known to the victim, imminently will be subject to death, suffocation, strangulation, disfigurement, serious physical injury, or kidnapping; or
4. commit the crime while aided and abetted by another;
(2) engage in sexual contact with another if the victim is a mentally defective individual, a mentally incapacitated individual, or a physically helpless individual, and the person performing the act knows or reasonably should know the victim is a mentally defective individual, a mentally incapacitated individual, or a physically helpless individual;
(3) engage in sexual contact with another if the victim is under the age of 14 years, and the person performing the sexual contact is at least 4 years older than the victim;
(4) engage in a sexual act with another if the victim is 14 or 15 years old, and the person performing the sexual act is at least 21 years old; or
(5) engage in vaginal intercourse with another if the victim is 14 or 15 years old, and the person performing the act is at least 21 years old.
(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of the felony of sexual offense in the third degree and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years.
He is not in the current SOR database for Maryland, so YMMV.

“K” was reportedly 11 years old and 13 years old when the abuse occurred, but he was also, evidently, drinking heavily when it occurred.

Can someone answer a question? How in the hell can someone be awarded a Hand Grenade bar? I served for 21 years in the Army and never ever saw orders awarding a soldier a Hand Grenade bar.
