Daniel G Medina; phony Ranger/SF

| September 8, 2016

Poser 2 - Daniel Medina

Someone noticed this fellow, Daniel G. Medina from Hemet, California, on Facebook. Of course, there’s a motorcycle and a vest involved;

Daniel Medina Vest

Poser 1 - Daniel Medina

Poser 3 - Daniel Medina

He claimed in social media discussions that he was injured on the jump into Grenada as an attachment to the Rangers from the Special Warfare Center. That’s what influenced folks to send him to us – they had a jump roster for Grenada and he wasn’t on it.

Poser 4 - Daniel Medina Facebook

Poser 5 - Daniel Medina Facebook

Poser 6 - Daniel Medina

From his records, it looks like he had 3 months AWOL in 1974 while he was at Fort Lewis, Washington as an infantryman in 2/60th Infantry, not the 2/75th Ranger Battalion like he claims.

Medina reenlisted to be a 91B Medic after four years of service in 1978. He claims that he was a helicopter pilot – his records show that he spent about three years as an Air Ambulance Attendant in Japan, but certainly not a pilot.

In October 1983, during the Grenada operation, he was a patient care specialist in Japan. He didn’t go to jump school until 1987, four years after Grenada – so he couldn’t have jumped into Grenada since he hadn’t trained for the jump yet.

Medina went to Special Forces training in October 1987, but then, he was on his way to Germany in January, 1988 – it looks like he was medical drop from SFQC. It wasn’t his fault until he started claiming things he didn’t earn.

Looking at his assignments, he might have made it to Staff Sergeant (E-6) but towards the end of his time, it appears that he got busted down to Specialist E-4 (his Duty MOS went from being a 91B30 to a 91B10) and with about a year in Germany, he was back in the US and separated from the service. He’s wearing Sergeant First Class (E-7) on his little vest – he didn’t make it that far. The bust, for whatever unknown reason, is probably why he had to get out with almost 15 years instead of sticking it out for 20 and retirement.

There’s no Ranger training, no Special Forces training, no jump into Grenada, no Combat Field Medic Badge, no combat, no helicopter training in his records, just an old guy with a vest and some stories.

Stories he’s been telling for at least two years;

Is any of those oldsters with motorcycle vests a real non-embellisher veteran?

I don’t know, but i can’t see myself wearing my ERB on a vest when i get out.

Bubblehead Ray

Yes, and these jackwagons piss us off to no end.

Sincerely,
An “Oldster” with a motorcycle and a vest.
??

Yef

I stand corrected.

Dave Hardin

Gawd Damn it Yef, never stand corrected around here.

What if posers see what you have done and it catches on?

Next thing we know the phony bastards will admit they are embellishing and the whole stolen valor thing will fall apart.

If we run out of posers to post…its all on you now.

rgr769

I am one, to prove “the exception to the rule.” I rarely wear my vest; but everything on it I earned or experienced except the POW flag patch part of the embroidered eagle emblem on the back. I sometimes wear it when I ride by bike to the Veteran’s Day parade. But then I actually went to ranger, jump, and SF school and graduated; and I served in a ranger company & two SF groups. But my CIB has no stars, and I don’t have or claim any valor awards or the VC marksmanship badge.

2banana

Late 1980s is when SFAS started.

So it is possible he attended SFQC and was in the pipeline until dropped.

And back then you were allowed to wear the Green Beret in you were in a Group. Not the tap.

rgr769

You mean the Flash or the tab. Until I went to SF school after I was assigned to the 10th SFGA, I wore the beret with just my O-3 bars. Most of the EM not SF wore the beret with the “candy bar” underneath the DUI on their berets. this was in 1971-1974.

Currahee John

The “candy bar” flashes existed until at least 1980 or so, and at least with 10th SFG in West Germany.

Hondo

Green Beret w/”Candy Stripe” was used through at least early 1983, both officer and enlisted, at Fort Bragg for non-SFQC personnel assigned to a SF group. However, my understanding is it’s gone back and forth multiple times over the years between that and maroon beret w/full flash for non-SFQC personnel.

Holden Magroin

SFAS hadn’t started quite yet in Oct 1987. SFAS also briefly had a different name until it became SFAS.

Holden

Silentium Est Aureum

10,000 attaboys negated by one aw, shit.

And then he has to pile on with the bullshit.

Sucks for you, dude.

Island of Misfit Toys

Again another one who served and did time and could not be proud of it as is, medic is a good MOS and not everyone can be at the pointing end of the poodle, and better to have tried for SF and gotten dropped than not to have tried. I had a lot of NCO’s when I came in that saw getting busted as a right of passage verse where it is now as career ending, well depending on what it was for most were booze related stupidity. Either way he has decided to crap all over his time in service and the rest by claiming what is not his and dishonoring his own service. What a pos.

Ex-PH2

If motorcycles didn’t scare me, I’d ride one and claim to NOT have done all those things.

Of course, I could just stand next to one and smirk, couldn’t I? Pat it on the hind fender and call it ‘Colonel’ after my Aunt Vash’s horse.

Why do these people have to be horse’s asses like this?

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Don’t insult equines like that…

Graybeard

Agree – horses are honest creatures, mostly.
Now biodegradable byproducts of a horse’s digestive system… that is applicable to these types.

The Stranger

Ok, there’s the beret, the vest, the patches, the bike…where’s the dog?

David

his name is Medina, not Paden.

I know there are fans out there…

SFC D

Hide and watch…

The Stranger

WTF, Over?

SFC D

Paden didn’t even like that dog

Green Thumb

Good movie.

Silverado was a classic.

sj

He doesn’t have a dog?

sj

Damn slow interwebz…Stranger beat me to the dog question

Skippy

Not yet that is

Hack Stone

The Funky Cold Medina.

Skippy

??????????
And he is a secret ???? too

BHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ! ! !

You win the internet today with that one. Now I’ll have that damn song stuck in my head.

Skippy

Just to refresh our memory

ex-OS2

The special security officer badge is a nice touch.

Cocksucker.

Hondo

Some interesting bits of info are in his record of assignment.

From 1984-1987, he was in a number of 30-level duty positions (E6 level), including Clinic NCOIC.

By 1984, he’d been in 10 years – well past the time he could have stayed in as an E4. So by 1984, he was an E5 – and possibly an E6 by 1987.

A few months after arriving in Germany, in mid-1988 he was moved to a -20 duty position (E5 level). And a couple of months after that, he was moved to a -10 duty position (E4 level).

Per his FOIA, he left active duty as an E4. While I could well be wrong, from the above I’m thinking the AWOL back in 1975 wasn’t the only time this guy lost stripes.

Animal

How does someone go AWOL for 3 months and stick around to make S/Sgt and then E4 again?

JimV

My thoughts exactly. I’m surprised he was allowed to re-up.

OldManchu

In other news, there is a shortage of military patches and paraphernalia in Hemet California and surrounding counties. Resupply inbound.

OldManchu

Oh Shit! He is a licensed massage therapist and he also performs “birthing” ceremonies?

WTF over!???

Keep the kids away from this fucktard.

ChipNASA

Cockgobbling fartbox toungepuncher.

GT_ATC

We can always count on you, Senior, for coffee spewage.

Combat Historian

POS wears “Vietnam Vet” patch on his vest, but the closest he got to RVN was watching “Rambo”. A real turd, this one…

Sparks

My thoughts exactly.

rgr769

I am surprised he hasn’t claimed POW. Remember the VA stat that says they have had over 12,000 vets claiming they were POW’s during the Vietnam war.

20thEB67

Right..! I had just turned 20 in RVN, so he was what-10 years old?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

This is why we can’t have nice things….

Why do so many of the lying assholes take off one uniform and then feel a need to replace it with a mandatory vest, shitty beard, double chin, man boobs, and an overwhelming need to feel important so they lie to everyone about what a bad ass they were. Nobody cares if you were a bad ass, unless they’re all lying assholes who want to pretend being a bad ass matters in modern society.

Here’s a thought, how about spending half the time you spend lying your ass off volunteering to help in your community instead? The people in your community will quickly think you’re a great guy, they won’t need you tell them any bullshit lies and you can stick to the truth and be considered a hometown hero without the burden of a lifetime of lying.

I’m just another fucking idiot living in suburbia, but the people here in my hometown know I’m the guy who got the athletic complex built because I wrote the grant. They know my work as a volunteer creates a competitive youth sports league where thousands of kids play from all across the Connecticut River Valley area of Massachusetts.

And I didn’t even have to tell them one fucking lie….if a fucking moron like me can figure it out why can’t more of the lying assholes figure it out?

2banana

Don’t forget the ponytail.

Nothing says SF Airborne Ranger like a pony tail…

Daisy Cutter

And a doo rag.

Claw

You people who don’t do Facebook are missing out.

He has 2, 617 Facebook Friends posted. It is a veritable Who’s-Who of penis envy.

By my calculations, 2,616 of them are posers/embellishers.

Look at them quick before his page goes “Poof.”

Sparks

Unbelievable. Looked at his friends list and I now understand how all the outfits that sell awards, badges and tactical gear stay in business. And man, business must be booming!

Claw

Especially that one old fart (who must be at 150 years old) sporting SF brass, wearing Captain’s bars, and having a ribbon rack that says “continued on other side.”

20thEB67

What really growls me is that they all use the “Patriot Guard” as a way to acquire stolen valor and phony honor. I will never be able to look at that group in the same way again. Damn near brings me to tears of rage.

Frankie Cee "In the clear"

I know several Grenada Rangers and this guy, Daniel Medina, doesn’t even come close to standing as tall as my friends. Just another poser who has been bullshitting the people. Not a Ranger, Not SF, No Combat, Just a pack of lies.

Skippy

Don’t forget ???? also

OldManchu

I had a drill sergeant (in my company, not my platoon) in 1989 who had jumped into Grenada as a Ranger. I couldn’t quit staring at the wings and the scroll.

Skippy

In almost ten years of service I only I met and worked with maybe a dozen soldiers that that had earned two tabs SF/Ranger one was a Posser and was caught, why in da Fuk would someone claim it if they did not earn it ?????
And why trash a decent service record with lies and bullshit ????
Was being a med fail that hard that you could not recover
Damn POS

jarhead

As Animal mentioned, the AWOL status puzzles us. At least to the best of my knowledge, an AWOL on your SRB in the USMC would eliminate you from the normal re-up conversation. Dave Hardin would probably be better at explaining that issue.

One thing for CERTAIN….those who have actually “been there” do not run their mouth trying their best to get you to open the subject so they can repeat their well-rehearsed war stories. That’s exactly the same as what they do by wearing all those patches….begging for anyone to ask them questions about their military bravery and war stories. SAM” CLUB patches make for better stories.
Even Scouting badges and ribbons inspire some of uf more.

Dave Hardin

Jonn seems to be sober today, I will defer to his expertise on the matter. Besides its Army stuff. Do they have formations? AWOL could mean anything with those guys.

Evidently the Army had entire Divisions of people jumping into Grenada. Who needs jump school? Really bro, gravity does all the work.

Sparks

You owe me a keyboard Dave!

Mick

Dave,

Could you please work up another equation for us today? The one that you did yesterday was pretty good.

Here goes:

1) If there were 1000 posers on the O’Grady Rescue, then by extrapolation how many posers jumped into Grenada?

1) Could this be explained as a simple ratio, such as 1000:100,000?

I would have a lash at this myself, but I really suck at math.

Thanks, and Semper Fi!

Mick

Ahem. That second question should be marked with a 2).

Told ya that I suck at math.

2/17 Air Cav

I liked it the way it was. I think I’ll borrow it, for a couple of reasons. First, no one expects it, and; first, because it’s funny.

Mick

I see what you did there.

Well played!

Dave Hardin

Well…lookie here you made a funny.

Next thing I know you will be surfing Russian dating sites.

Dave Hardin

Having issues with your developing your equation.

Because of the random generation of Sock Puppets it is difficult to derive a value.

Ε (1/s) = Π 1/p-s is a derivative of The Euler Product Formula. Might be able to use it for random Sock Puppet generation.

Somehow we need to incorporate the probability of infinite occurrences. Maybe a function of The Gaussian Integral.

ƒ – ∞ + √ – ∞ *dx = ∞ Π

The exponential potential of Sock Puppet generation in a ratio to posers is problematic.

Dave Hardin

= ∞ ?

HMCS(FMF) ret

Damn… Dave went all “new math” on our asses!

Got to break that stuff down Barney-style for some of us, Dave.

SFC D

The angle of the dangle multiplied by the heat of the meat equals the mass of the ass.

Here ended the lesson.

HMCS(FMF) ret

BRAVO!!!!

Dave Hardin

I think if we work the problem backwards it will be helpful. No matter what is on the left side of the equation we know the right side ends as follows:

something = ∞ :poop:

Dave Hardin

∞ :hankey:

as Skippy likes to say

David

Euler? Euler?

Mick

‘He claimed in social media discussions that he was injured on the jump into Grenada as an attachment to the Rangers from the Special Warfare Center. That’s what influenced folks to send him to us – they had a jump roster for Grenada and he wasn’t on it.’

Yup, it must really suck for these assclown posers when someone who was actually on a specific mission/operation shows up with a roster of those who were actually there.

I really despise Stolen Valor and these pathetic poser assclowns who engage in it.

I hope that Team TAH keeps on mercilessly crushing all of their bullshit stories and phony bar acts at every opportunity.

Cleared hot.

IDC SARC

yeah well, I remember the most critically injured folks pretty darn well…I don’t recall anyone with 2 broken legs (he said he broke both) from just a jump landing.

Harry Shaw’s mangled legs, a blinded Recon Marine with a shattered femur from a bullet wound, captain Howard and what was left of his his pulseless arm and also broken femur…the Lucky Marine that was shot off his scout motorcycle and the bullet that hit him center abdomen tracked around his torso and came out his back without entering the abdominal cavity….etc etc

Mick

Doc,

I’m very familiar with what happened to Captains Howard and Seagle, and also what happened to Captain Giguere and 1stLt Scharver. Bad times.

I’m also acquainted with the two Marine CH-46 pilots who picked up Captain Howard and flew him back out to the ship.

This is why I get so pissed off when posers falsely claim to have been in Grenada.

IDC SARC

“Bad times”, yes…..my hands were on them after the recovery. RIP

fukking posers just don’t get it

IDC SARC

Did you know the 261 flight surgeon..Dr. D?

Mick

Doc,

No; I was stationed in Quantico when Grenada went down.

However, I know quite a few guys who were down there in Grenada.

The Marine Corps let Tim Howard stay on active duty as an Intelligence Officer even though he had lost an arm, and I believe that he retired as a Colonel. He received a Silver Star, a Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat ‘V’, and a Purple Heart.

There’s an Outlying Landing Field (OLF) named after Jeb Seagle out at MCAGCC 29 Palms. He also got a Navy Cross.

The Marine Corps Aviation Association named its annual ‘John P. Guiguere Award (Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron of the Year)’ after Pat Giguere. He also received a posthumous Silver Star.

Jeff Scharver got a posthumous Silver Star.

No, the posers never will get it, will they?

Semper Fi.

Mick

Saved round for the TAH readership: Jeb Seagle’s Navy Cross was awarded posthumously.

2/17 Air Cav

Holy Cheeseballs! He has a BA, MA, and a PhD. Or so he says on his FB page. With all of that education (and I am chevy certain that it is all legit) it’s no wonder he also claims to be working as a massage therapist.

IDC SARC

Jeebuz…24 years active…then federal service….working on my second doctorate….now I find out all ya gotta do is type it on FB and it becomes truth. Damn….all that whiskey I could have been drinking.

and I actually went to Urgent Fury, cuz I thought you had to, to say you did (not like I had a choice)

I shoulda kept one of the amputated legs, so I could beat these MFs down with it.

Blaster

I have a PhD. It’s in the barn next to the tractor (post hole digger).

And speaking of whiskey, This past Monday I went to the George Dickle distillery in Tullahoma TN. It’s one of my favorite brands of whiskey. If any of you get the chance, go check it out. “Blaster 6” and I really enjoyed it.

IDC SARC

Ya probably have a lot more fun with you your PhD than I did doing homework until 0400 this morning for my current stretch into scholastic masochism.

I’m Partial to Glenlivet and Jack Single Barrel…but I enjoy sampling any of them.

HMCS(FMF) ret

I wonder how many of those “degrees” are from real schools, and not diploma mills?

IDC SARC

Well I went to the CSUN website and didn’t see a degree program in Native American/Ethnic Studies offered there.

That might be a red flag.

IDC SARC

UC Riverside offers a BA in Native American Studies, but no Graduate program is listed.

HMC Ret

Now THAT is a major I could get into as it dovetails well into American History.

Tony180a

The Special Forces crest pinned on a SWCS flash gives your Beret a flashing neon sign that screams “I’M A LYING PIECE OF SHIT POSER”. I’ve known 18D’s that PCS to Ranger Regiment then returned back to Group but this fucker wasn’t one of them! Eat shit maggot!

Holden Magroin

C Co., 1st Special Warfare Training Battalion in Oct 1987? He was in my Phase 1 of the Q!

That company was known as “The Body Nazis” during that time – CPT “4 minute mile” Charters, “His Airness” Air Jorden (RIP), and the other TACs likely ran & rucked his fat ass into the ground.

He would have been fairly ancient for that class so I’m surprised that I don’t remember him. I’ll ask around.

Holden

Tony180a

Holden you knew TJ? He was a good man RIP.

HMCS(FMF) ret

Not a Ranger, not SF, no combat… what else is new?

Dude probably shaves his scrotum and transplants his hair onto his face, so he can show people that he can grow “facial hair”

DANIEL G. MEDIA is a rump riding ranger and special feces warrior!

3E9

Dipshit.

Claw

He spent seven years active duty within the timeframe when Big Army was handing out AAMs by the truckload just for utilizing the minimum amount of toilet paper while downrange and guess what?

No AAM. Pffft…

But he does have four GCMs, so he’s good to go in that area.

ex-OS2

Daniel Medina needs to join the UH-1 Huey Helicopter Facebook Page so he can get nightly ball washings from James Walls, you know, since they are both combat helicopter pilots and all.

Claw

Funny you should ask about that. Just checked it out.

He already is a member of the Ball Washing Club over at Low Left Ball’s Huey page.

He was added as a member by the head female Euro-Weenie about 11 months ago.

Claw

And Yeah, he’s been commenting up a storm over there on the Huey page. Spewing the same lies there about being a Ranger and Combat Medic.

He’s probably first in line for the nightly ball washings.

Posers gotta pose.

ex-OS2

They deserve each other. It would not surprise me if they jerk each other off every night after the ball washings and night-night kisses.

Cocksuckers. Pffft.

HMCS(FMF) ret

Bet you that he loved to get “tucked in” at night when Jimmy “the man who suck donkey balls” Walls signs off with the “Left Nut Low” mantra….

Dave Hardin

Magina Man and the Vest of Valor…coming soon to veteran events near you.

Listen to menstrual musing of Magina Man as he opines over his patches and pins. Riveting recollections of baffling bullshit. His heart warming tales of heroic Daring Do will entertain you for hours.

Fascinating fantasies of flailing flatulence will keep you riveted to his Vest of Valor.

Skippy

Damn… First place today Lol….

The Stranger

Nice use of alliteration, specifically consonants. My high school English teacher would be proud, may she rest in peace.

The Stranger

Dammit, it was supposed to say “consonance”….smart phone my ass!

The Stranger

Dammit…I accidentally reported myself…I was going to say “Smart phone my Reister, I mean Keister!”.

BWAHAHA

Black Man

I really think he was there! There is a picture of him laying down cover fire for Brian Williams & Hillary Clinton as the were ducking bullets trying to deliver classified documents to a special ops 3 star senior chief. Keep in mind this was before e-mail, they really had to get those documents. I think they were landing zone locations?? Really top secret classified shit! Who am I to question ones integrity?

Graybeard

I was wondering – can we get these guys who claim all this Secret Squirrel stuff all on one plane and airdrop them on some ISIS HQ to take out Ibin Az Kru’in A’gote or whoever their Imam is this week?

Set the pickup zone at 150 klicks into the Syrian desert. If they make it out, we’ll accept their creds as Secret Squirrels.

Yet another turd in Phildo’s legions.

Check out the May 25 2014 Newspaper article on Daniel GRAYWOLF Medina from the Press-Enterprise, stating he was 58, an Apache Indian, a member of the Patriot Guard Riders as well as serving in the US Army for 16 years with tours in VIETNAM, Grenada and Central America:

http://www.pe.com/articles/names-695226-read-veterans.html

When you click on the picture, scroll to page 2 of pics (there are 5 pics with captions). It shows a picture of him wearing what looks like a green beret.

Vietnam. Yeah…right…

rgr769

He did his “Nam” tour when he was 16-17 years old, right after the ritual to make him a full warrior of the tribe; you betchum, Keemosabe.

Green Thumb

Yep.

Dude is rocking the Phildo Trifects.

Fake SF, Fake Native American and Biker. All we need is Fake LEO.

Skippy

So what are the odds that this turd and Bulot from a few weeks ago know one another same BS claims same age they probably went to basic togather

Chip

I just looked at his facebook. I have never seen so many people flaunt the fact that they are combat veterans. None of my brothers do that. The only time we have discussed Desert Storm excessively was this past winter. Other than that we mostly share pictures and talk about funny things. He has 2000 friends just putting it all out there.

SFC D

Completely off thread but still important to the TAH cadre:

HMC Ret

I thought he was bogus from the getgo. First, there is no mutt. Secondly, there is no POW-MIA patch that I see. The real deals always have a mutt and POW patch. How many vests can one guy have. This guy has regalia for every day of the week including more vests than The Men’s Warehouse. He’s also lower than whale shit. Good career but felt the need to flaunt his bullshittery.

HMC Ret

In the WTF arena, a young female sailor today (?) made a video of herself not standing for the National Anthem. Also, while not standing, she raised her left fist in protest. The Navy says she will be transferred, probably to the fleet for menial labor. She says she is proud of herself and will not stand in the future for the National Anthem. She said she sides with Kaepernack and others in protest. She says as a black woman, she identifies with the plight of blacks in the country. Well, maybe she should identify with the plight of a general discharge, working behind the counter at Burger King.

She needs to be discharged. Fuck her idealism. The Navy plans to keep her. Why, I don’t know. Damn, I hope the Navy doesn’t turn this into one of those PC movements in which people are given an exception for not following protocol. She’s right about one thing: The Navy can’t force her to stand. What the Navy CAN do is boot her ass with prejudice, giving her the worst discharge they can to set an example. I don’t know what type that would be, but I can almost guarantee her next command will inherit a turd and they will almost certainly make an example of her. In one year, I predict she will be OTD with at best a general and hopefully something less. I see her command piling shit on her for very nearly every transgression. Good for them.

Anyone want to chime in here re what is the worst discharge she can get over a period of a year or so in which she continues to do this and also commits other ‘minor’ transgressions?
I think the Navy is going to pile on as many charges as possible.

You can go to WEARTV.com to see the news broadcast. A friend told me about it and I found it quickly.

IDC SARC

“..the plight of blacks in the country.”

Like being the president of the United and having the potential to do just about anything any other American can do if they’re willing to work for it? Yeah, that sukks.

IDC SARC

rgr769

No discharge. Maybus is going to give her the Navy equivalent of an ARCOM. She’s advancing the cause of a new kind of naval warrior, the “social justice warrior.”

Tim

“Of course, it involves a vest!”

Great line from one of your previous “Phony” posts! So true…….LOL!
