Dirk Walters; phony Special Warfare

| December 11, 2015

Dirk Walters

Someone sent us links to this guy, Dirk Walters who lives in West Virginia and for some reason, he likes to dress up like a special forces dude. In his Facebook profile, he says that he was a staff sergeant of Marines, that he was in the Air Force, and that he was Marine Recon and worked with Army Special Forces.

Dirk Walter FB Profile

He was in the Air Force Reserves as an airframe mechanic. It looks like he was called to active duty for Desert Storm, but he never deployed.

Dirk Walters Air Force FOIA

He was also, a Staff Sergeant of Marines, Marine mechanics. He spent 11 years in the Marine Corps, three of which, he was a recruiter but it looks like he never left the Continental United States

Dirk Walters DD214

Dirk Walters USMC Assignments1

19 years of honorable service and he had to crap all over it with that special forces bullshit. As I said in an article I was quoted in yesterday – not everyone can kill bin Laden.

Tom Huxton

Does he have the tats?

LIRight

Hell….he looks real to me!

SFC Von

Real question is- does he drive a Subaru?

HMCS (FMF) ret.

Last assignment in the Corps was as a recruiter… didn’t make it to 20. Anybody want to bet that he was “Dipping a DEPer” or some other misconduct?

Another SV embellisher that took an Chipolte norovirus shit all over his service…

3E9

I’ll take “Obvious shit that stupid people do” for $2000 Alex and make it a true daily double.

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Yeppers:

Alex, I will take “Inappropriate and Over-familiar Relationships with Possible Recruits” for 1000 please.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Too bad he didn’t do that while stationed as a senior officer at the Puzzle Palace…fucking around when above a certain senior officer grade apparently has zero effect on the golden parachute club at the Puzzle Palace.

But what a dumbass, why tell stories…nothing wrong with his career except he now dreams of things he never did which is fine as long as you spin those dreams into lying tales of derring didn’t…

Silentium Est Aureum

I’d have to disagree, Senior Chief. His DOR is back in 2004, meaning never got busted. Dipping a DEPper would pretty much guarantee the offender would end up at least one stripe lighter.

Also note he has a Navy Comm–I’d be willing to bet that would be his EOT award, especially if he did a good job toting the bag. They had those out a lot more in recruiting than they would for his primary MOS.

NECCSEABEECPO

One more thing he could have joined the Air Force or USMC and back then they had you can have time taken off at the end of your service.

Example: I joined DEP 1 yr. Completed 24yrs. active service but am getting paid for 25. This is because of my contact I singed back in 1989. They did away with this in mid 90’s. Not every thing is black and white just like saying he did not leave the US according to his DD 214 he has two Sea service Ribbons.

NECCSEABEECPO

sorry contract

AZTop

I dep’d in 85 went to bootcamp in 86. Was told that they had stopped including dep time for pay time. I only served 23 yrs and 10 months and getting paid for only that (23 actually). Did someone screw up?

Skippy (my dependa does not speak for me)

Did the same with me and I came in around 2005 should ask that question tomorrow on the weekend open thread a ton of folks here with HRC background and rules and regs, plus a ton of knowledge

Sorensen25

Not defending this guy, but if he completed 3 years of recruiting duty without getting busted down, then he didn’t get booted for misconduct. Maybe he just got sick of the Marine Corps after recruiting duty because that’s where you go to see how much the Corps actually cares about Marines and their families. That is to say, they don’t give a shit and they will throw the bag toting recruiters under the bus to save their careers. That was my reason for leaving the Corps after recruiting duty.

That said, yes, he’s still a turd.

Airdale USN

DD-214 says he went to mast, I wonder if that’s the same thing as in the Navy when you get in trouble.

Hondo

Discharged with 19 years total (active plus reserve) service. Hmm.

Even if none of his non-active-duty time in the USAFR was “good” time, he had 12+ years active duty time. If he’s stayed in the reserve components, with good participation after his USMC discharge he’d be eligible to move to the retired list now – with a pension of around 33% of his high-3 average.

Something tells me there may be a bit more to the story here than is apparent at first glance.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Probably betting that “bit more” is the real golden nugget in the story as well…being a non-senior grade officer and doing something stupid near the end isn’t good for one’s career.

Senior Grade officers, especially those at the 5 sided star on the Potomac, seem bullet-proof when it comes to asshattery for the most part.

Hack Stone

Instead of using ” bullet proof”, I prefer “Teflon cammies”.

sj

West Virginia? Seems to be trying to catch up with Florida?

Green Thumb

I hope not.

Jonn might have to move.

USMCMSgtRet

I see it differently, Green Thumb.

If these dumbasses start migrating into Jonn’s AOR, these stories will become easier to expose.

Just a thought…

Hack Stone

Keep your friends close, your posers closer.

Greenn Thumb

Very Jerry Vroomboutish.

QM1

I like how his profile says he’s from Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Frank Kapaun

Is that a 20th Group flash he is wearing? This has to be a first, a Stolen Valor from a National Guard SF Group.

Holden Magroin

well, he certainly has a SOF name with Dirk but his moustache seems to be more of the sperm flavor savoring type.

I’ll guess he is two hole qualified.

Holden

NECCSEABEECPO

I would say that he did leave the US at least on deployment. According to his USMC DD 214 he has two Sea service deployment ribbons. This could be because of his NBC school it states he had that skill or worked in that skill for two years. I would say he supported a MUE somewhere.

One more thing they usually do not award the NUC or MUC to no deployable units unless in support of some sort of humanitarian or above and beyond operation in the US.

Silentium Est Aureum

And they certainly don’t hand out NAMs like penny candy in the Corps, let alone NCMs. For an E-6 in either the Marines or Navy to have one of those means at some point they were either very shit hot, very well connected at/to/with someone with stars on their collars, or both.

And then he had to go and fuck it all up.

L. Taylor

It is not his fault. It’s his parent’s fault. His name is “Dirk”.

He was just trying to live up to his name.

Hondo

Well, then he should have gone into pr0n instead. He could have called himself “Dirk Diggler”. (smile)

3E9

Was the movie “5th Man In?” 🙂

Hack Stone

Any idea what color socks he wears?

Tony180a

Well since he’s in West Virginia they should drag his sorry lying ass to Camp Dawson for some fun and games!! Bet my last dime he’ll be on the jungle penetrator ride of shame within 6 hours of arrival!

NECCSEABEECPO

I have questions of were did he lie?
Is he starching the truth? I believe so

1. He served in the Air Force. True
2. He served in Marines. True
3. Looks like he went to some school that covered some sort special operations stuff. Yes They have schools for that.
4. Afghanistan He could be DOD contractor working for SOTF-A because of his school stuff and his NBC stuff. When working with SOTF-A they had a lot of these civilians
5. The RECON thing he is not claiming FORCE. Back then they had FORCE and Battalion Recon. Force you go to indoc. Battalion you get assigned. He could have been assigned to a MUE Recon Battalion because of his NBC skill set. Assignments show I MARDIV HQ could be because NBC and they lend those guy’s out. Is he stretching the truth yes but lying I don’t know.
Now the photo he is a complete ASS!!

Just saying do we have all the info on him?

Tony180a

I’d say the pic is worth a thousand words. What school did he go to that covers Special Operations? I may be overlooking something but it looks like he was a mechanic, NBC and a recruiter.

Hondo

Um, maybe when he claimed (in his profile) that his past included “studied Special Warfare/Physiological (sic) Operations” as well as “US Army” and “special forces”? And when he wore Army ACUs and a Green Beret with flash?

Don’t see any of that documented on his DD214; in his Page 3; or in his FOIA reply from NPRC concerning his USAFR service.

NECCSEABEECPO

He went to some civilian school according to his face book. I just saying not every thing is black and white. The Marines use their NBC teams or personnel a different way than the Army does.

NECCSEABEECPO

Also as stated the SOTF has DOD contractors that work with them and he could have been one because of his NCB ‘s skill. I know because I have the Navy Ground NEC and was offered such a job. SITF-A is generally under command of Army Special Forces Groups.

It is stated that he did not deploy then why does he have Sea service? Also MUC and NUC

D

He studied “Physiological Operations.” In other words, how many fingers could he jam up his butthole until he felt something? Or how much piss could he drink until he pissed out the piss he drank?

Dave Hardin

You bring up some valid points. Let me try to help. He had prior service when he joined the Marines. 1988-1996 Air Force Reserves. He joined the Marine Corps in 96 went to Basic then to SOI to learn basic infantry like all Marines do.

He goes to Marine Corps Service Support Schools at Swamp Lagoon to learn how to fix things with wheels. He gets sent out to Stumps (29 Palms)to fix shit with wheels and get some more schoolin.

He spends 17 more months in Stumps with Headquarters and Service Company 1st Battalion 7th Marines. He would have participated in the unit rotation to Okinawa and back. Usually 6 month rotations back then. They often deployed to PI or Korea while there for a love ya long time party.

Our boy then gets sentenced to 35 months at Cheerless Pit, Havenot NC. He enjoys his stay there as an NBC Clerk. Probably does a good job and rubs elbows with the brass.

He gets to go to Hollywood for a grueling stint learning to act civilian and snag suckers into the Suck.

Then off to Albuquerque fighting off pissed moms because little Bobby signed up. Who knows what happened while there but it looks like he did more than the 3 years expected.

My guess is he started playing stink finger with someone and it lead to more serious and he was probably issued a Spousal Unit.

He probably wasn’t allowed to play Marine anymore because mommy was not about to leave home and follow his ass around.

Anyway, probably several deployments with 1/7, elbow grease with brass and a decent tour on Recruiting duty will explain all of his awards.

No RECON, none, no chance of it. PERIOD. NADA. ZIP. ZERO. He fixed shit with wheels, gassed Marines and kidnapped civilians…thats it.

I have no idea what kind of special killer secret squirrel bullshit people do in the Air Force Reserves, who knows, maybe they are all ‘Special’.

NECCSEABEECPO

Good to Go shit bag poser. I should no better. I would like to give some of these guy’s the benefit of doubt.

Claw

Like Dave says, he was issued a spousal unit or his next assignment after recruiting duty was an offer to go play in a sand box for real and he developed a serious case of fractured taint syndrome and he said “To Hell with that noise” and went the discharge route to stay home with momma and the chillins.

It’s happened before. Just when you’re asked to step up to the plate for real, you tell the manager to drop you from the line-up for a groin pull.

NECCSEABEECPO

So I worked with civil affairs in south America and worked for and supported ODA teams in Afghanistan. Would I be wrong in saying I worked with Special Forces. Also if I took an NBC civilian billet with DOD working with SOTF-A (I did not) just saying is it wrong to say you worked with Army Special Forces. I said he is out of line with the photo..
He however did not say he was serving in the Army serving and working with two different thing’s.

Hondo

None of the guy’s claims – even if, as you suggest, were merely claims to have “worked with” or “supported” (which I doubt) – explains his being photographed wearing Army ACUs including a Green Beret with SF flash and SF unit crest.

“Worked with” is one thing. Being photographed wearing the headgear and uniform – complete with Green Beret, SF flash, and SF unit crest – along with the claims of past “US Army” and studying “Special Warfare” at “special forces” seems a clear attempt to deceive.

NECCSEABEECPO

Hondo, sorry I was trying to find something positive he is a shit bag and David cleared a lot of the Marine shit up. The only thing I’ll give him is he deployed that is what Marines do.

Yes he is trying to deceive people. I just can’t believe there are so many of these ass holes out there. I will shut the fuck up sorry.

Dave Hardin

Yes, it would be wrong. I had my whole platoon PT with Delta Force on the USS Austin. Does that mean they can claim we “Trained with Delta Force”. I think not.

It depends on the audience and the manner in which it is said. Putting it on facebook with a goofy picture is not criminal, its just stupid.

If you say something like that to a civilian be ready to demand a correction when an idiot reported prints it in the paper. In the VFW drinking cheap beer, nobody believes anything said in there anyway.

NEECSEABEECPO

No they can’t claim that David if you PT with them that is stupid. I didn’t say that. so if you go out to the villages and work with them not fucking door thumping but do civil humanitarian under the SOTF umbrella is that not working with SOF. the answer is yes it is because of the task force it does not mean you are SF. I have worked all over “working with” and “supporting” two different thing’s.

NEECSEABEECPO

There are SOF missions that do not involve full on SF capable personnel some this is set up by required skill set.

Dave Hardin

I think we agree on this, my inability to communicate properly is the problem most likely.

I understood what you meant. I was trying to say a civilian hearing that will easily take it out of context and use it in a manner you would not want them to.

It would be wrong to say something to a civilian audience that you know could be misleading. I think we both agree on that.

I learned a long time ago to never ague with a SEABEE. Semper Fi Brother.

NEECSEABEECPO

That cool I under stood what you were saying. I would not say

I worked with SF guy’s to any one.

A lot of times people ask what I did and I say I was Seabee and nobody knows. I do not however say what a lot of my brothers do and that is were like “Combat Engineer” not that would be wrong like your DELTA thing.

I just say we support the Marines and that it all just support.

Love supporting and working with you guy’s. Marines pulled us out of shit we shouldn’t have been in.

CAN DO Marine Semper FI.

Tony180a

Personally, I wouldn’t believe anything he posted on his face book page regarding civilian schools that would give him some sort of Special Forces Qualification. I served over 20 consecutive years active duty in Special Forces. I’ve been to a lot of schools and yes some were civilian but you had to have a baseline skillset and qualification prior to attending. The picture of him wearing a Green Beret with 20th SFG(A) flash screams LYING SHITBAG!

NEECSEABEECPO

He is a shit bag. I was trying to see things a different way.

Just An Old Dog

Lying his ass off. But, couple of things. He DID deploy at least twice as evidenced by 2 awards of the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. More than likely 2 UDPs to Okinawa with 1/7.
Second it looks like there is a page missing from his chronological history. He reported to recruiting duty March 8, 2004. Its a three year tour of Duty, meaning he would have been done March of 2007. He got out in November 2007. Unless he stepped on it late on the tour it looks like he finished the duty without any huge fuck-ups He recieved 3 Good Conduct medals, which is the Maximum posible for his time in. He was awarded a Navy/MC Comm and 2 Navy/MC achievement medals.
It could be possible he had a MINOR glitch on recruiting duty, but if it was a huge foul up he would have been less a stripe. He could have seen the writing on the wall or took an early sep.
Hes a poser regardless.
