Scotty sends us his work on this fellow who seems to go by a whole bunch of names including Sam Struhl, Samuel Struhl or Samuel Ari Struhl or Sam Matejovic. He thinks very highly of his military career. He gave himself a Meritorious Service Medal because the Army wouldn’t, he threw in a Purple Heart and some jump wings and HALO wings and a Combat Infantry Badge.
Of course, since he’s married to the lie, he has a Special Forces DUI tattoo;

He was an artilleryman at Fort Drum until he got booted as an E-1 after less than three years of service. He did, however, earn the Army Service Ribbon and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge which means he hit his targets 24 out of 40 times. A real overachiever. But he takes a good mugshot;
He was outed years ago, but continues to rock the lie – which is why I never take down the phonies from our Stolen Valor page – it only encourages them to be repeat offenders.

On my phone the pic is hard to read but it looks like he may have made it to Sp4 but at least too PFC before being knocked back to PV1.

It also looks like he’s got a Ranger tab peaking around on the shoulder and looking and the rank on the sleeve it appears he gave himself some SGT stripes too. A nice promotion.

I know a phony SEAL who did this. At an older age (about 45-50) actually got a tattoo of a fierce-looking frog, with scuba gear I think, walking out of the water and carrying a machine gun of some sort.
