Terry Sallada, phony POW/Vietnam veteran in York, PA

| September 27, 2014

Terry Sallada

We wrote about this fellow Terry Sallada back two years ago and it took us this long to get his records. But back then the York Daily Record did an article on him, you know the neighborhood ice cream truck guy who was tortured by the Viet Cong;

[Terry Sallada is] 60 but trim and his hair hasn’t grayed entirely. He’d been a Green Beret during Vietnam, and had been a prisoner of war. Now, to help pay bills, he takes seasonal work at H&R Block. Hawking ice cream, he pulls in $75 for about three hours on a good night, which is enough to cover his inventory. But whatever. Sallada says he’s more interested in meeting people, anyway.
[…]
“Man,” he said. “The jungles of Vietnam have got nothing on that truck.”

Well, unless he went there as a tourist, Sallada has never been to Vietnam, nor did he ever serve in uniform;

Terry Sallada FOIA

We warned the York Daily Record about his POW claims, so they removed the quote above about Special Forces and being a POW, but they still call him a Vietnam veteran.

Folks tell us that when we first outed him based on the Department of Defense’s Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office records, Sallada disputed the veracity of their records, so we know that he’ll also dispute the NPRC’s lack of records.

I imagine he’ll be a super secret squirrel when he reads this post about himself – you know the type, the guy who did things forty years ago that remain a secret, even though that’s complete BS. The biggest secret of WWII, the Enigma Machine, was disclosed just 25 years after the war. But, as we all know, these phonies have always done something else besides pretend about their military career.

Yes, good point about the Enigma machine. That said, I have Brad Thor lying for me on national TV.

You should believe everything Brad Thor says. Perhaps for the right price, Brad Thor can vouch for Terry Sallada.

I can only imagine Commander Phil Monkress and All-Points Logistics have bankrolled this man’s operations under one of Phildo other “co-mingled” companies.

I hope the taxpayers like this turd’s ice cream.

Wow, the second one of my old phonies’ records to come back in the last two days. If I’m not mistaken this guy’s daughter came back a few months ago to call all of us jerks for questioning her dad’s story. We all responded that we were just calling out the POW claim. Wonder what she will say about the NPRC saying he is 100% fake?

C2Show

Yeah, I remember she she came on here pretty pissed at the world for her fathers mistakes. She defended him too, wonder how she feels now.

I would have serious concerns if a 60 year old guy told me he drove and ice cream truck “to meet people”. Like who Terry? 10 year olds? Sick fuck.

A Proud Infidel®™

Yeah, that raises a red flag for me as well!

Green Thumb

Yeah.

The more I read up on this clown, the more I suspect he could have ticklemonster potential.

“Hey, kids. Want some candy?”

Sicko.

AW1 Tim

I got a really sick feeling reading that comment of his.

John Robert Mallernee

I wish I could drive an ice cream truck.

But, that’s because I love ICE CREAM!!!

Well, I like young’uns, too, but not the same way as the witch liked Hansel and Gretel.

I’m just a lonely old geezer with no family or progeny of my own, and merely enjoy watching families, and kids being kids (since I’m around nothing but OLD folks like myself every day).

Now, dogs are a different category.

I love eating dogs, especially on a bun, with chili and cheese!

I think selling ice cream would be fun.

But, I can’t do figures in my head, so I’m unable to make change.

That’s the same reason I can’t work in a store or drive a taxi cab.

Calculators are $2.00 for a really good one.

Green Thumb

Word.

The prick is on Facebook spreading his lies.

Everythind I did was so seekrit back then, I can’t remember any of it at all.

In fact, I’m not sure what I did back then. Could have been anything.

What a horse’s ass. Don’t these people even consider for one small second that there are actual records that can be tracked?

The article appears to have been stealth-edited since originally posted. The paragraph quoted above that read:

[Terry Sallada is] 60 but trim and his hair hasn’t grayed entirely. He’d been a Green Beret during Vietnam, and had been a prisoner of war. Now, to help pay bills, he takes seasonal work at H&R Block. Hawking ice cream, he pulls in $75 for about three hours on a good night, which is enough to cover his inventory. But whatever. Sallada says he’s more interested in meeting people, anyway.

Now reads:

He’s 60 but trim and his hair hasn’t grayed entirely. To help pay bills, he takes seasonal work at H&R Block. Hawking ice cream, he pulls in $75 for about three hours on a good night, which is enough to cover his inventory. But whatever. Sallada says he’s more interested in meeting people, anyway.

No mention of being a Green Beret or POW. (Although, elsewhere the article still mentions him as being a “Vietnam veteran”). Also, there is no correction or note that the original version has been edited. Stay classy, York Daily Record…

Hopefully, somebody thought to get a screen capture of the article prior to the edit, or is good at pulling up archived versions of webpages.

I wonder what is going on with NPR. I just got a stash of records as well. Maybe they were saving up for postage.

John Robert Mallernee

National Public Radio is giving away their record albums?

Gee whiz, I don’t even own a record player!

Dave Hardin

LMAO, I just checked this post. NPR, is that still on the air? I thought it was odd that about 150 pages of records I have been waiting on finally showed up.

Guard Bum

You guys scoff but I too was tortured by the Vietnamese and for me it was back in the early 1980s when I was in the Marine Corps and stationed at Alameda. I stopped off at a Vietnamese restaurant in East Oakland for some Hue style noodle soup and that shit tortured me for two days. It burned going down and burned like hell coming out…I don’t even really like to talk about that time in my life.

Sound like you should have gotten the ‘Brown’ Star with Valor guard bum.

Guard Bum

Stop it man, seriously. I was traumatized and the VA still wont give me my due. I actually have sympathetic PTSD over that…I break out in a cold sweat even being around Top Rhamen.

John Robert Mallernee

ROFLOL ! ! !

Ooooh, but those were GOOOOOD ones!

Keep ’em coming!
