John Fuentes; stealing valor for fun and profit
Toasty Coastie sends us this story from some law enforcement officers she knows in Largo, Florida. Some names have been redacted;
Officers XXXX, XXXX and XXXX respond to Wild Willies where a “gentleman” was in Full US ARMY active duty ACU’s soliciting funds for the local Military Museum and Wounded Warrior Program. He even gets a small amount of funds from some of the bar patrons. Unfortunately for him, one customer (a vet) is suspicious and questions him on his service and he runs. Officers find him on XXXX where an investigation about soliciting reveals he does not have permits to solicit or even a military ID. The uniform of the “2nd Lieutenant Dimarco” does not match the NY state Dept of Corrections inmate card on him showing him as Johnathan Fuentes. Fuentes is the subject of a previous report by Officer XXXX, he has multiple social numbers, altered enlistment papers and a VA card in the name of Fuentes. He states he is an Infantryman but doesn’t have a Combat Infantry Man’s Badge on, but a Combat Action Badge (not given to Infantry), along with his parachutist’s badge. The stories finally crumble and he admits to getting funds by using the uniform, ( he spent the money on packs of cigarettes already). While speaking to 3 veterans he states he does not want to get in any more trouble, (a little late). I have the pleasure of informing him that “his” uniform is evidence and we will be removing it now and put him in a bio hazard gown for his transport to jail. The subject is charged with 817.312 Unlawful use of uniforms, medals or insignia a third degree felony.
So, there’s your feel good story today.

I would have given much to be there and applaud the arresting officer in person. But I suppose it’s too much to ask that the biohazard gown be open at the rear for Bubba and Thor’s convenience when he got to jail.
Would that Federal law treated such acts similarly.

There IS a really really good military museum just up the street, and I assume that’s the one he was soliciting funds to steal from. Wish I was still in the area… Given that CENTCOM and SOCOM and SOCCENT and a few other hq’s are close by, he’s VERY VERY lucky he didn’t run into one of those guys. He wouldn’t end up at 49th St- he’d be heading to the hospital…

OHN FUENTES IS A FRAUD, COMPULSIVE LIAR AND A CON MAN!!!! This low life can primarily be seen in the streets of Bronx, NY wearing a US Army uniform impersonating an active duty solider with the name tag Greys on it and wearing the rank of 2ND LT. He often lies to people and says he is a wounded soldier that got shot during a tour of duty in Iraq .He states the bullet hit him in the leg and head which created his speech impediment and the limp that he walks with…. The speech problem is the only truth told in the whole story. When confronted about this he will even say, he is a investigator for the army and he sometimes goes undercover. He has never served or is in active duty for the army and never got shot, he tells the story to get pity from anyone he comes across. But the worst of it is he uses it to get women to trust him and date him. He tells them over the top complex fantasies to draw them in and get them to give him money as well extort money from them. He will pretend that the US Army will help pay their bills when in reality this is complete bullshit!!! He will leech off any woman that will give him the time of day and tell them whatever he thinks they need to hear to win their trust. I’m so sorry to you are going through this. I as well experience this man lies and bullshit. And just learned who this man really is. He needs to be off the streets and locked up. I understand what you’re going through and I hope your mother realize what a lowlife Devil he is soon. I always put my kids first, so I hope she does the same.but I felt something funny and kept catching him in lies. He told me he was in the army and got me for money .
