Timothy Morgan aka Northstar; phony SEAL/POW
Timothy Northstar claims to be the most decorated Native-American still living. He claims that he was a POW of the North Vietnamese and, of course, he claims he’s a Navy SEAL. He’s not listed in the SEAL database, he’s not listed on the DoD POW/MIA website and the Vietnam POWs have never heard of him.
In this interview with him, the interviewer asks why that is and he says that it’s because his name wasn’t Northstar when he was in the Navy, it was Timothy Morgan. Well, that name doesn’t come up in any of the aforementioned lists either. So his fall back position is that all of the work he did was classified. Like that’s the first time we ever heard that one, right?
According to Mary’s database of Vietnam Era veterans he was in the Navy for a little less than two years and he left the service as an E-2. Everyone but Timothy is wrong. Mary has requested his FOIA, but he’s going up and down the West Coast taking advantage of well-meaning people in the interim. So this is a BOLO. Ran into a “Vietnam Vet” recently who calimed to have “seen some action in Da Nang and Khesan”. Usual checkboxes–secret missions, baby-killing, special orders from the president, all hushed up and no records kept.

Trust me I get stuff like this all the time. I had a partner at my office see my Purple Heart plates on my car and he asked me about it. He then proceed to tell me he has a “box full” of them like 8 or 9 of them from Desert Storm. I told him only 500 Purple Hearts where awarded for Desert Storm and I am pretty sure nobody received more than one. He reported me to my partner for smarting off to him and calling him a liar. I quit my job a month later and told HR about the POS.
I never understand these liars who think they can look you in the eye and tell you a completely ridiculous bullsh1t claim like that…. 8 or 9 purple hearts? I congratulate you on stifling your choke the shit out of him reflex….he reported you? Really? He wouldn’t want to try that shit at my company our owner is an actual Vietnam vet with an actual Bronze Star and doesn’t take kindly to lying sacks of shit like this fellow you mention.

This guy was the guest speaker at a Veterans event I attended recently. His story was very compelling. We donated a bunch of money to him. He ripped us off.
I am an enrolled tribal member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas. I have seen and known of this man for many years, seeing him at most social native gatherings. I never knew of these shameful lies. My grandfather, a 4/4 Indian served in WWI in 1917 and lost many brothers of many cultural backgrounds, my father also a 4/4 native served in the Korean War with an Honorable discharge in 62. To lie about such things is disgraceful and shameful knowing the lives that were lost and what the Men and Women went through, and are still going through even in modern times of battle and War. Most Natives like my grandfathers generation were not citizens of the U.S until 1924, and not allowed to vote until 1947, but still served there country. Many Natives then and now continue to serve proudly for this beautiful country that carries the blood of our ancestors. History is sensitive and complicated for our Native people, but our people will continue to fight along side every beautiful culture in the U.S as one family of Americans for this amazing, strong, and wonderful country no matter what the politics and differences. If this man is lying, please do not mix his lies and deceit with the many Native Americans that have served Honorably for this Country, and also carry the scars mentally and physically living in hard times carrying the Wars of past always. To all you VETS whom carry so many scars, most people will never understand, but from us true Natives that understand the Warrior Society, lying is the most shameful thing you can ever do on the battle field, you were truly in between the world of life and death, not something to take lightly.
