I guess the media will never learn. Just An Old Dog sent us some links about this guy several weeks ago and Mary sent off for his records. His name is James H “Manse” Towery. He claims that he did 15 deployments, that he has two Purple Hearts and 27 medals. Here, this is what he told the Seattle Times in 2011;

@35 Yeah, I attended the Marine Corps Institute too. It was located at Parris Island and I got an advanced degree in Bends and Thrusts.
Young James cannot seem to keep the collar of his blues buttoned in many of his photo’s. I think that is likely because he is a fat fuck and his 5 hotdog neck roll makes wearing the uniform properly uncomfortable.
But other than that, seems legit. I mean the jump wings he obviously earned, look at all of his sky diving photo’s. I am surprised he doesn’t have pilot wings, he had photo’s taken in an airplane too.

As of today he is still posting “remember victims of PTSD” pictures on his face book. He has changed his friends list to private. I guess some of them have been sent links to this page. That’s ok. I guess that means we’ll just get the face book pages he has liked and shared moto pics from and post his TAH link.

Back to Manse Towery. He is dodging messages. He has changed his facebook settings and made it where you can’t see his friends and message them about his fake claims. He is… or Was a Mason from the Roswell Ga #165 lodge. He was also an admin on their facebook page. I messaged several Masons there with Towery’s claims and a link to this page. I got no reponses but he is no longer on their facebook page. I am hoping they took him to task about his bullshit claims. Im not sure how exactly tey would do that but I wouod guess any actions would not be publically announced, Any Masons on here could enlighten us.

I got a hold of a guy who was in 2nd Tank Battalion. He is pretty sure he remembers Towery being there in 2002. That would tie in with his claim of Service starting in 1998.
Towery was a comm guy. The Battalion’s Advance Party went to theatre (Iraq) in Jan 2003. During OIF 1 the guy I talked to said the Battalion’s only casulties were in the Scouts and Tank Companies. They had no Casualties in the Log Train or Comm Section. He also said he is pretty sure 2nd Tanks didnt deploy to Afghanistan until 2008.
Pretty sure he is still full of shit. Hopefully his room mate will fill in the blanks.
I was with 2nd Tanks from ’04-’07 and this scumbag has been brought to the attention of the battalion Facebook group. He did in fact serve with 2nd Tanks as a comm guy, but that is the only true claim he makes. We are reporting him to Stolen Valor in hopes that the truth about this shit bird will get more press!
I can verify that he was in the Marine Corp and in Comm Plt. I do remember him walking around with a cane do to some issues with one of his legs. Now, I also can say that he did NOT deploy with us in 2003 to Iraq. I am about 90% sure that he was discharged (medically?) prior to Iraq. There was one Purple Heart that was issued to a Marine in Comm Plt during the intial invasion in 2003. Towery was NOT the recipient.
It’s good that all the pieces are coming together on this clown. It’s one thing to be called out by strangers who smell something fishy. It’s another thing for guys that knew you in the service to call you at as a lying piece of shit. Towery seems to have had the reputation as a scammer, bullshitter and light duty commando from way back.
He has been going to veterans events, Balls, and parades rocking his lies. Hopefully his old unit can do more to get him to recant his shit and cease bullshitting.
I served with Towery at 2nd Tank BN. I was a field wireman in HQ, and he was a radio operator. He was left at Lejeune when we deployed to Iraq in 2003. He was a shit Marine, who no one listened to. I can’t remember if he was still at Lejeune when we got back, but I know without a doubt he didn’t deploy with us.
