WTH does that say?
Maybe I’m showing my age, but what the hell is that? Actually, it’s the new brand for Paul Reickhoff’s Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
The new brand, distinctly different from the previous, captures the energy, youth and diversity of the more than 2.2 million veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11. The new brand was designed pro bono by world-renowned branding agency Landor Associates, which has worked with major companies such as Blackberry, Citi, FedEx and MillerCoors. To help unveil our new brand, IAVA asked members and supporters nationwide to share in one word what IAVA’s mission means to them.
Energy? Youth? Diversity? It looks like zebra stripes and zebras are the pussies of the savannah – always galloping away from something.
“Pro bono” must be Latin for “still not worth it”.
One word to describe what IAVA means to me? “Bald”. “Cueball”. Those are the words that jump into my mind when I think of IAVA. Is “Fuckstick” one word?
Category: Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
I’m still confused as to what IAVA actually does. They have no service officers, no posts, no resolutions etc. All I have seen thus far is their scorecard which is as wrong as two boys f*ing in the woods.
Oh, and a new logo.
The group could be good, but right now it is just cueball’s way of being someone big.
Looks like tire tracks…..
…or a maze in the Sunday paper.
“Fuckstick” is in fact one word as is dipstick or lipstick. “Fuck Wad” on the other hand is two words. The general rule of thumb is that you would use a compound word if the qualified word is a defined object such as stick and a two word phrase if the qualified word is undefined such as wad.
There are of course exceptions but this rule will be helpful when describing anything about the IAVA such as:
Douchebag
See? That’s why we sent you to Washington. You have so much stuff crammed in that skull of yours.
Keep it safe from the zombies, though.
Tire tracks, mud and snow. Maybe they see their organization as “road kill”?
Actually a compound word has an adjectival verb (fuck)and an auxiliary noun (stick). Hyphens make it easier to not upset the folks with the Chicago Style Manual in hand, though.

That’s a good point B5 but the Chicago Style Manual is passive. Hyphens are better when used to combine two words where the second word is the active and the first word is the object of action such as ass-licker.
See how easy it is to hijack a thread with total nonsense?
And you know all those clowns from IAVA are reading this.
🙂
Agree with Proof in #7, tire tracks in the mud. Or I I N I? With a period at the end?
Yeah, COB6, those ass-clowns are totally reading this thread.
@#11 Period? Oh ya, Paul Reichoff has periods. I have a set of Firstones on my Dually, that have a similar tread; possibly he saw that on his forehead one morning.
If they put it on a yellow background, it would look like one of those warning stripe signs. Come to think of it, that might not be such a bad analogy.
Actually, zebras are quite aggressive and mean- antagonistic, even. They’re very sociable and highly erratic, going off individually until threatened, whence they huddle in groups and allow the stud (head male) to “protect” the group.
I’d say that’s pretty apropos.
“The new brand, distinctly different from the previous, captures the energy, youth and diversity of the more than 2.2 million veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.”
That’s a clever way of making it sound like they have 2.2 million members. Anyone know how many they actually have?
@#16, not sure, put I think that 2.2 members is much closer than 2.2 million……..
The logo is hard to decipher, so it’s entirely appropriate since I can’t decipher their group anyway.
It’s a good thing for “Cueball” (did I do that right COB?)that it was “pro-bono” because those 2.2 members would of had to pony-up the cash instead of hitting a bong or line…Just saying. Maybe it’s design is intended to induce…never mind!
COB6 and Blackfive,
so is it assholes and ass-wipes or am I over thinking this?
OT–nah, but consider that a word can be used as both, depending upon the context, such the word shitstain as a descriptive word, but saying that their shit stains the fabric of humanity would also be appropriate.
IAVA–because VVAW wasn’t batshit crazy enough.
Wow, you are retarded.
[…] of America. Notice all of the T-shirts with tire tracks on them in the commercial. Those are the “branded” merchandise of IAVA. Apparently, the twelve packs of Millers has the “brand“on them, too. While it’s […]
