This guy makes me want to puke. He obviously expounds this stuff, in the desperate attempt to reap the glory, be recognized, and promote himself. The facts seem quite clear here; he never ever paid the price for this glory. Had he, I doubt that he would mention it much, unless with a close friend and sincerely needed to vet a bit. I know one of these guys, don’t know how to proceed, or what the hell to do about it. At first he fooled me and I am discouraged about that. I should have seen through it right away. I think that older age has made me soft and gullible. MACV-SOG, Special Forces, Master Sergeants stripes, various Air Force medals, the year pins for 1965 and 1969, and others that I have no idea what they are. Here’s the story; He is a 20 year retired veteran from the Air Force. His claims are; he was in special operations for 18 years, served two tours in Viet Nam, was a team leader of numerous insertion operations into Laos and N. VN, on his last mission he was the team leader of 6 men inserted into Laos where everyone but him was KIA, he was captured by the NVA, held prisoner and brutalized, had his teeth and finger nails pulled out, ultimately slipped his bonds, cut his guards throat and ran through the jungle, got into a river in Laos floating toward the S. China Sea and was picked up by a US Navy PBR, spent two years in Hawaii rehabbing , received both the Silver Star and Bronze Star among several other medals, was discharged as a Master Sergeant E-9.
