The jump wings appear crooked. The beret also does not appear to be fitted correctly with the tilt. He’s not a WWII aviator, he is a soldier. Square the beret away.

He is wearing the 509th DUI on his beret and the Texas NG (I think 36th Brigade) DUI on his shoulder epaulettes. The 509th is an active duty unit and wears a maroon beret. I can’t see his shoulder patches.

No nametag on the right pocket. His US brass is crooked. Regimental crest looks crooked but that could be a jacket fit issue.

509Trooper is spot on ref the headgear and DUI there.
The shoulder DUI are from the 36th Infantry Division (TX ARNG).
Also…”Caucasian soldier in uniform”…would this be a correct descriptor?

Whoa,
36th Infantry Regt(1AD since 2008) DUI over the unit citations
36th DIVISION DUI (TXARNG) on the Epaulets
509th DUI (JRTC) on the Beret
No name tag
No Service Star on his ICM
His U.S. Brass is slightly cocked out of alignment
36th Infantry Regiment was never assigned to 36th Division nor was 509th
Discount for teh time being whether this is stolen valor or not. Given that, because he’s not wearing an Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, his deployemnt would have had to occurred on active duty before joining the Guard. So, it is quite possible that he deployed while on Active Duty with the 36th Infantry/1st Armored Division, and is now, coincidentally, in the 36th Infantry Brigade. I, though, would question how he got awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. And the 1st Armored Division patch is large enough that we should see it poking out on his right shoulder, it doesn’t appear that he’s wearing any combat patch.

I’ve never seen any type of decoration on a shirt collar. It’s been awhile. And the Army Green uniform is no longer authorized.

I’ve never seen decorations on the collars and if they do that now, this guys are uneven. Also, what’s with the two Presidential Unit Citation clusters? To have two he would have had to been in two different units or one unit was awarded two. It’s been a while since I was in but I don’t think the green uniform is used any longer. It looks like the jump wings and the other two badges are Sterling Silver instead of stainless steel. I don’t know if that is proper to wear Sterling Silver, but like I wrote, I’ve been out a long time.

– US is no lined up correctly also the US is dirty.
– As stated above, all unit-specific devices conflict.
– Hair cut is needed
– The beret looks like soup sandwich
– No Name tag
– Airborne Badge is not straight
– Since we do not know when the photo was taken, the Class A uniform shown, could have been authorized.
– He has an ARCOM with no AAMs. I am not sure about Soldiers now, but when I grew up in the Army, Soldiers did not receive an ARCOM unless you had an AAM.
– It has been a hot minute for me, but I believe that the Airborne badge and rifle marksmanship badge are to be equal distance from the edge of the pocket.

His two rows of ribbons should be flush, not spaced apart like they are. He has an OSR, which doesn’t necessarily mean he was deployed to a war zone, but he also has the Iraq Campaign Medal, and no deployment patch on the right shoulder that I can see. It could be a trick of the light, but it looks like the top button on his jacket is brass, while the others are stay-bright. He has specialist rank on his collar, but we should be able to see the edges of the specialist rank on his sleeves and we cannot. Name tag is missing. Smudged US is crooked. The ARCOM without an AAM is not necessarily an issue. I got an ARCOM before I got an AAM, and there is nothing to say a soldier must have an AAM before receiving one. The blue looks like a slightly darker shade than it should be on the Presidential Unit Citation, although that could just be a trick of the light. The air assault badge isn’t centered properly, and the other badges next to it look off. Beret is a size or two bigger than it should, and is not being worn properly. Some of the unit specific devices seem to conflict.
