Did anyone notice that in section 12, the months are written out as SEP – JAN – FEB ‘vice’ 09 – 01 – 02. This caught my eye right away because as a Yeoman I did my share of DD214s.
However, just to be sure, I broke out all of my DD214s ans sure enough, the months were NOT spelled out. Of course it has been quite sometime since I had to do one. Perhaps things have changed but his discharge was in 1986 and from my retirement in 1981 (I did my own and did not realize I could embroider) and we use the numerical system. Can somebody comment on this.

Other than honorable discharge? Does that mean he is not retired and drawing a check?

Correct. Look at line 28: “Misconduct – commissioned (sic) of a serious offense.”
