Oh, What a Tangled Web We Weave….

If I hide like this no one can see me

The pdf of the articles of impeachment is posted online. It is a public document that Pelosi cannot keep hidden under the rug. Nothing is defined specifically, period. The negotiations that Trump engaged in with Ukraine are not criminal matters. The complaint is based on hearsay, not on hard evidence such as documents.  Nothing that Pres. Trump has done is remotely close to what Richard Nixon knew about and approved of in regard to Watergate and the other actions that made him resign from office to avoid being impeached. What Nixon did was miles ahead of Trump’s conversations with the president of Ukraine. And Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, which was proven in her graphic descriptions of her sexual relationship with him. However, he stayed in office afterwards because the Senate vote to send him packing was insufficient.

There is nothing – ZERO, ZIP, NADA – that is not already public knowledge.  And ignorance of or refusing to follow procedures is a poor excuse for publicly declaring your hatred of Pres. Trump. There is no victory here, not even a Pyrrhic victory. Pyrrhic victory is about victory at all or every cost. An Irenic victory is not so much about victory but resolution for both sides. This nonsense is simply sour grapes on the part of the Democrats, and Pelosi led the way on this nonsense.

Here is the link to the pdf:  https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/6572308/Articles-of-Impeachment.pdf

Since it’s a public document, Pelosi can try to block it all she wants to but will get nowhere.  It is apparent that she thinks by not delivering it, she can delay the business. Unfortunately, she’s forgotten that it is a public document. If it weren’t, how did I find this, copy the link and post it?

Delivering the Articles of Impeachment is simply a courtesy, a formal statement by the House to the Senate to continue the process. Without delivering the document, there is no impeachment. The time and money wasted on this nonsense is something that should be brought up repeatedly in the next election go-round.

It’s obvious that she thinks by refusing to deliver it, she’ has control of the process, when she has no such thing.

Now we know that she really is that stupid. Delivering this to the Senate is merely a formality, if she really wants this to go through.  Obviously, she’s afraid of being found out.  She and the other Democrats have wasted more time on this personal vendetta than the bunch of them are worth individually. As I said, this is no Pyrrhic victory. She has made an ass of herself in public, to no purpose.

From Bloomberg News:  https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-12-19/trump-impeachment-delay-could-be-serious-problem-for-democrats

If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all. (Read that part again.)

That’s because “impeachment” under the Constitution means the House sending its approved articles of impeachment to the Senate, with House managers standing up in the Senate and saying the president is impeached.

As for the headlines we saw after the House vote saying, “TRUMP IMPEACHED,” those are a media shorthand, not a technically correct legal statement. So far, the House has voted to impeach (future tense) Trump. He isn’t impeached (past tense) until the articles go to the Senate and the House members deliver the message.

Once the articles are sent, the Senate has a constitutional duty to hold a trial on the impeachment charges presented. Failure for the Senate to hold a trial after impeachment would deviate from the Constitution’s clear expectation. – article

Maybe if the members of the House had to take a US Constitution test to qualify to be sworn in, we wouldn’t see these kinds of shenanigans. On the other hand, most of them are only after the power, cash and bennies, anyway, so that’s a moot point.  Remember when Maxine Waters went on TV, snarling “Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!” and Pres. Trump had barely been sworn in?

I welcome and look forward to a full and open trial of these supposed charges in the Senate. Upon the dismissal of these Trumped Up (see what I did there) Charges, the ENTIRE Costs of this sh^t show be charged to the people who wasted the taxpayers monies on such crap. Three years of BS because dasHildabeast, The Bitch of Benghazi didn’t get her turn.

I do not think will we see this go forward. ALL of the careers pols are running scared that the American Taxpayer will see Washington DC for the corrupt snake filled swamp that it is.

What would stop the Senate from starting a trial with or without Pelosi’s involvement? The indictment (impeachment articles) are done and voted on; how they make their way down a corridor to the Senate chambers is unimportant. (Not to mention the slap in Pelosi’s face would be priceless: “Oh, you’re really not needed here, Nancy”.)

Sandman

Withholding something till she gets what she wants. Quid Pro Quo much?

OWB

Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that a trial will occur. The Swamp (populated by all manner of pols, bureaucrats, and other creatures) simply cannot allow it. Too many of them would have their carefully constructed camouflage removed.

But, count me among those who would really, really, REALLY like to see it.

Cameron Kingsley

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that they are doing a good job at destroying that camouflage themselves.

Dear Democrats, you done f*cked up now.

Didn’t Ole Plastic Woman and others say on Live TV on the day they voted to impeach President Trump that it was a “Somber Day” and that no one wanted it?

If so, then Ole Plastic Woman and others have a lot to explain about their Partner in Crime, Ole Rashida Tlaib.

Check out her video:

Although you can never truly know what your opponent will do, I think a public trial would be a fantastic opportunity for the GOP to get everything out there and on the record.
Why not call in Comey, and Joe Biden, maybe even Hillary as witnesses. You could then drag on the proceedings to ensure you have all the evidence you need to publicly indict all of them on conspiracy, fraud, money laundering, racketeering, a few other things, maybe even treason. What all the Rats start jumping ship (maybe Schiff?)!
The Deep State would be exposed and the cockroaches would be scrambling from the light!

HMMM I have a suggestion for the Senate majority leader. Since the articles of impeachment are PUBLIC DOCUMENTS he should use them to conduct the trial.

Like I commented yesterday.
The Her Joseph Goebbels owned LSMFT (msnbc) and CNN lame stream media networks keep repeating those phony charges over and over so their listeners will eventualy believe them. Are there any straight forward news networks that won’t televise the big lies??

OWB

No. It’s probably due to so many incorrectly redefining their own wishful thinking as fact, evidence, or proof of something. Opinion is not, has never been, nor will ever be the same thing as evidence. Hearsay is not admissible in court, and I doubt that an honest trial in the Senate would allow it either – it depends upon how CJ Roberts chooses to define the word if he ever gets to rule on such things.

I don’t see even the slightest inkling of public
protest anywhere. I mean come on, show me some of
that 1970’s wild in the streets kinda response.
Nobody cares Nancy.
Even the media cannot drum up a man in the street
that gives shit.
Maybe when we come back from Christmas break no
one will dare mention it ever again.

OWB

There were a few “spontaneous” protests that mysteriously popped up across the country supporting impeachment a couple of days ago. Odd how they all had the same signs, did their thing at about the same time and garnered all of a couple of hundred protestors nationwide, mostly in Hollywood, total.

We had one in my AOR that drew 7 or 8 folks. They looked pretty silly. By the time they left, they were vastly outnumbered by folks pulling over to yell them down. (At least the local media reported it fairly and accurately.)

We have a Democrat Rep in my AO who voted to impeach President Trump.

That Democrat is one of the 30 Freshman who is risking getting re-elected next November.

For about 2 weeks, a TV ad appeared emphasizing that the Representative needed to focus on doing what they were elected to do for our District insteading of focusing on impeachment.

That Democrat is now (after the impeachment vote) posting TV ads claiming support for our District in lowering Prescription Costs while at the same time emphasizing they are a Military Veteran who cares for our Country.

What a joke. I hope the citizens in our District sees through this Facade and not re-elect this person who has done absolutely NOTHING for us since they took office except focusing on getting rid of President Trump.

“Pelosi’s Problem: Dems’ Own Witness Says Trump Not Truly Impeached Unless Articles Go To Senate”:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pelosis-problem-dems-own-witness-says-trump-not-truly-impeached-unless-articles-go-to-senate#

“Consider it a twist on the old question about a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear it: If the House adopts articles of impeachment but never sends them to the Senate, is a president truly impeached?”

“A Harvard law professor, who also served as a Democrat-called impeachment witness, answered with a resounding “no” in a column that speaks to the deep dilemma House Speaker Nancy Pelosi faces as she sits on two articles of impeachment against President Trump.”

Hyey Jock

As soon as Nancy demanded control of how the trial was to be conducted Mitch knew he had her by the short hairs. All he has to do now is wait and grin.

My guess is that she’ll sit on them until the next election – if Trump is reelected and/or the Senate is (D) controlled, she’ll pass them on.

No (D) control in the Senate, no trial.
