Domestic scuffle led to Wednesday night shooting, police say
No charges filed as of Thursday morning

By RICK CURL
A Wednesday night shooting near Lillington appears to have started from a fight between a father and son, according to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the home at 795 Brown Road off of Cool Springs Road around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after a domestic dispute escalated into a reported shooting.

Harnett County Maj. Aaron Meredith told The Daily Record an argument over repair work to a vehicle resulted in 65-year-old Robin Brown shooting his 35-year-old son Robin Brown in the leg.

“It’s still under investigation, but we believe it was done in self defense,” Meredith said. “Because it appears to be self defense, no charges have been filed at this time.”

Ed Morrissey notes that “the exact type of weapon used in self-defense has not been identified. However, a neighbor described the sound as an ‘assault weapon,’ and WSB-TV in Atlanta confirmed it to be a long-barrel semi-automatic.” This sounds like exactly the sort of weapon Beto O’Rourke and other 2020 Democrats would like to confiscate through compulsory “buy-backs.”

More Details.

I do believe that where there is a choice only between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence. Thus when my eldest son asked me what he should have done had he been present when I was almost fatally assaulted in 1908 [by an Indian extremist opposed to Gandhi’s agreement with Smuts], whether he should have run away and seen me killed or whether he should have used his physical force which he could and wanted to use, and defend me, I told him it was his duty to defend me even by using violence. Hence it was that I took part in the Boer War, the so-called Zulu Rebellion and [World War I]. Hence also do I advocate training in arms for those who believe in the method of violence. I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honor than that she should in a cowardly manner become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor. — Mohandas K. Gandhi, Young India, August 11, 1920 from Fischer, Louis ed.,The Essential Gandhi, 1962

Two DRT & 1 WRT and the in the wind will show up again…soon. We’ll take that score any day. Too bad the Rockdale County Boys Choir is gonna be short 3 members come Sunday Morning. That story is still all over the news down here. Another example of having the only living witness left. That was a very nice quiet area not long ago. The trash out of Atlanta are making inroads.

Loves me some custom examples of the work of the Saintly John Moses Browning. I have an excess of slobber on the screen.

Like the adjustable skeleton trigger, ambi safety, beveled and flared magazine well, dust cover rail, cocking serrations, and nifty sights… not really a carry gun but probably a good shooter. Think I’d open the ejection port a tad more, but that’s just me.

Looking at those rear sights, it looks like a comp gun and hard to tell if it was de horned.
