DADT repeal doesn’t go far enough

| January 11, 2011

We all knew this was coming. Autumn Sandeen, a transgendered guy who wears a female Navy uniform when he protests with the Dan Choi crowd, who I’ve mentioned before isn’t satisfied with the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. He/she wants transgendered rights to serve in the military, too, according to the New York Times;

Sandeen was the only transgender person among the six veterans arrested in April while protesting the military’s ban on openly gay troops. But when she watched President Barack Obama last month sign the hard-fought bill allowing for the ban’s repeal, melancholy tinged her satisfaction.

“This is another bridesmaid moment for the transgender community,” the 51-year-old San Diego resident said.

The “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy now heading toward history does not apply to transgender recruits, who are automatically disqualified as unfit for service. But the military’s long-standing posture on gender-identity has not prevented transgender citizens from signing up before they come out, or from obtaining psychological counseling, hormones and routine health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs once they return to civilian life.

The Transgender American Veterans Association laughably estimates that there are over 300,000 transgendered people among veterans. It makes me wonder when all of this shit is going to stop. There are hundreds of occupations that I can’t do, so I’ve found a couple which I can do.

If you’re a man and you don’t like that fact, it’s not up to the military to accommodate your choices and it’s not the responsibility of the American taxpayer to pay for your choices. The government pays for my service-connected health treatment, being a woman trapped in a man’s body is not service-connected. As if I had to say that out loud.

Thanks to TSO for the link.

What. The hell. Is THAT????

Old Trooper

Hahahahaha!!!! I believe I called this before the DADT repeal. Everyone and their dog in the joint knew that the repeal would just be the start. They aren’t going to be happy until they can openly wear short skirts with their nutsack hanging below the hemline. As the old adage goes “give them an inch, they want a mile; give them a rope and they want to be a cowboy”.

It’s not about service, it’s about them. They want to force everyone to accept their choices.

TSO

Hey Ma’am, nice Adam’s apple.

Bubblehead Ray

TSO… I tried, but I can’t top that. ROTFLMAO

UpNorth

On so many levels, that pic just says………yuck!!!!! Now, that pic could be used in the dictionary, next to the phrase, “coyote ugly”.
It would be far better served getting the military to pay for some facial reconstruction, than getting it’s male plumbing chopped off.

DaveO

The sh*t won’t stop until we’ve either gone beyond the absurd, or get our tuckus’s handed to us and lose some territories.

Spigot

Hey, that’s not so bad.

There is a former Battalion Commander from 3rd Special Forces Group who retired as a full Colonel (did NOT command an SF Group, though), who decided he wanted to be a gurl post retirement.

I believe he sued the Library of Congress when they didn’t hire him/her once he revealed the fact that he was a “chick with a dick”. IIRC, he won the suit…the ACLU took up his cause with much gusto, as one would expect.

The best we can hope for is that he won’t ask to come back on active duty…

NHSparky

Not at age 51. Then again, he/she/it is an FT, aka “Faggot Tracker.”

NHSparky

BTW–if Obumbles DOES allow cross-dressers into the military, does that mean they get double the uniform allowance? (Actually would be significantly more considering women’s uniform allowance is more than the males.)

Retired NFO

Interesting; Only a PO1 after 20+ years; fortunately for the Chiefs he/she/it never made CPO. Imagine the initiation (if that is even allowed these days).

ROS

Thank you for that, Jonn.

Thank you also for teaching me a new word. In all of my literary travels – and they are manifold – I’ve never encountered the word “ensmallened”. 😀

AW1 Tim

NFO: O was thinking the very same thing. 20 years and didn’t make CPO? Especially with a golf crow? She/He/It (shit?) must have done something very wrong not to have been made a CPO with THAT kind of service.

I’m certain the Goat Locker would’ve made a very special initiation ceremony for that individual, had she/he/it made Chief. 😉

Believe you did call it right, Old Trooper. 8)

Damn! This page comes up right after I ate lunch…naturally. Ugly doesn’t even begin to come close….

Oh, I think I just threw up a little bit there…

Ben

Many people “called” this one.

The repeal of DADT settled NOTHING. It only raised more issues.

What slays me is that these LGBTXYZ advocates think that there is no “rational” reason for such rules. Nothing but mindless prejudice. Simply some old bigots who can’t get past their bigotry, that’s all.

The next generation will face showdowns on “partner-benefits”, marriage laws that vary from state to state, sexual harassment issues, transvestites, transgendereds, gay pride parades, restrictions on speech, and the dismissal of military chaplains. These fight is not over.

TSO

Stonewall, do I know you?

(Stonewall Brigade, 3-116 B or C Co perhaps)

Stonewall116

Nope, sorry, TSO. I’m just a student of history and politics. An admirer of the tactical genius of Stonewall Jackson and my home county in Illinois had a regiment in the Civil War which was almost entirely made up of men from there. 8 of 10 companies. 116th Illinois Infantry Regiment (Volunteer).

Thus, Stonewall 116.

I DO think this is silliest thing I’ve seen in days.

Stonewall116: I live a few miles from Stonewall Jackson land here in WV. I don’t this out to make any complicated point.

Doc Bailey

Zero, I’m at Morgantown. Small world isn’t it?

I think we ought to ask *seriously* if all this goes too far. We’ve not stopped and asked where the is. Where is it that is just too far? I think transgendered is just way too far, and honestly I do not feel one lick of sympathy for any of them.

Stonewall116

Zero, thanks for that link. Looks like a wonderful place to visit. A little out of my price range but one can always dream.

Doc Bailey #20: I dunno about your background. I got out of the Navy in’69. So much is going on that I just can’t relate to so I dunno how to reply.

Stonewall116 #21: I merely pointed that particular place as a single point of reference. There is some earnest debate about where Stonewall Jackson actually came from. Doesn’t stop folks around here from making decisions.
