The Next Kuntzman Fires AR-15.

Young Lady, Seven, Fires AR-15

Who can forget Gersh and his horrifying, menacing experience with an evil AR at the Double Tap Shooting Range and Gun Shop that left him with “temporary PTSD.”

Jonn’s post was met with much well deserved hilarity here:

Gigantic sissy shoots an AR rifle

Now another intrepid reporter, this time from from Vermont’s Seven Days relates his own terrifying AR experience at a professionally operated multimillion-dollar in-door range.

Kevin McCallum, admittedly not a “gun guy” tried his hand firing both a 9mm pistol and an AR.

While the pistol was manageable, even comfortable to hold and fire, the rifle was a different beast altogether.

How different? Read his hyperbole for yourselves.

The Blaze

Seven Days

Reminds me of The 13th Warrior:

Skeld the Superstitious: [Ahmad Ibn Fahdlan shows off his new scimitar, whittled down from a Viking sword; Skeld shrugs] He insisted.

Weath the Musician: Give an Arab a sword, he makes a knife.

Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan: [cuts through a thick wooden pole in one chop] It works.

[He tosses it into the air, twirls it around, then holds the blade to Weath’s neck]

Weath the Musician: When you die, can I give that to my daughter?

13th Warrior was a horrible adaptation of Eaters of the Dead. Banderas is a great actor, but his character (Ibn Fadlan) never should have been able to stand up to his fellows like that. Eaters of the Dead was a revision of Beowulf, and the Danes took center stage.

I have spent a few more dollars than my knows about at Parro’s in Vermont. The range looks neat but not worth an 1.5 hour drive. I did have a disagreement over pricing with them about First responder pricing for I.D card carrying retirees (Sent Glock USA a short E-mail about it).

Wimp! Ask the dinosaurs about that comet hitting the Earth thing. Oh..wait

Maybe I should go by and have my way with his woman? Don’t know what scares me the most; the power that I would have over her, or the fact that I could take her home. 😛

HA!

I don’t think so. If her standards are low enough to sleep with this girly man who else has she banged. Then again she might a thrill in her life.

All that underwears ruination over a hyped-up .22

As an Instructor with C co 2-29 IN Fort Benning of the Georgia I taught 9-year old boys and girls to nail targets with a M4 at 150m.

The. Horror. The…Horror.

Op-Ed: I Tried Firing An AR-15 Yesterday And I Have Literally Been Soiling Myself For 17 Straight Hours

The AR-15 — the deadliest abomination known to man. A gun so terrible it’s killed more people than net neutrality and Trump’s tax cuts combined. And to demonstrate how awful this weapon is, I did something foolish: I tried firing one. And the experience was so horrible I have not stopped crying and soiling myself since.

Yes, even as I type this, tears fill my eyes at the remembrance of pulling that trigger and the terrible things that followed. And my pants… my pants are so soaked.

from the Babylon Bee, of course.

https://babylonbee.com/news/op-ed-i-tried-firing-an-ar-15-yesterday-and-i-still-havent-stopped-soiling-myself

Read the rest. It’s hysterical – especially the part where he says the rifle is trying to bludgeon him to death.

Berliner

Reading the Kevin McCallum story, I mentally pictured the reporter being asked what he wanted to try next… “Depends”.

Progressives have had the Satire industry playing catch-up lately.

I suspect anyone who grew up in the dark ages where baseball bats were made out of Hickory wood probably has a complete understanding of this.

Think about the sound of a well struck line drive with an old Louisville slugger and contrast that with the sound of a well struck ball of the current generation of bats.

That is the most striking thing about shooting an AR-15.

The first time I shot one the most dramatic thing to me was the sound of the buffer spring compressing and releasing in my ear.

I contrasted it with a lever action Model 94, that IMO kicks harder than it should, an M-14 or M-1 or M-1 carbine and various pump and autoloader shotguns.

If I was going to try and intimidate someone I’d let someone shoot a box of low brass Dove and Qual load 12 gauge followed by a 3 inch Magnum BRI Sabot slug or two. An AR-15 in either 5.56 NATO or 7.62 x 39 wouldn’t be in the running. The aforemention Model 94 carbine in 30-30 would be more exciting with factory 170 grain loads.

SFC D

I grew up with a Winchester 94 and Model 12 shotgun. First time I fired an M-16A1 in basic training and heard that action/buffer spring sound, my first thought was “What the fuck was that!” I thought I broke it.

Hatchet

My first time firing an M-16A1 was at summer MilEx in Ft. Drum in ’85. Also fair to mention that at the time, our Reserve Forces were armed with the kinda hefty 7.62 Fabrique Nationale C1A1 rifle aka FAL of the North. That summer we were cross-training with the 376th CSH and their Chief Warrant graciously invited several of us(25th Medical Company) to come to one of the units’ pending RangeEx’s and perhaps temporarily ‘exchange hardware’ – they’d try our FN’s and we’d try their… For one reason or another that didn’t work out but ten of us did get the chance to sorta/kinda have the day off and head off to rip a clip or two with our very accommodating New York State National Guard Bro’s. My first impressions when I was first handed one, was how incredibly light it felt – not a negative compared to shouldering the chunky FN for many relays, definitely not a pejorative. I clicked off Safe to Selective Fire, shouldered up and *boom*
And exactly like yourself said(out loud) ‘What the fuck was tha…oh man did I just fuck up a perfectly good rifle’?! My host ‘spotter’ chuckled ‘No, relax it’s just the action of the buffer recoil spring and because the 16’s stock is made from hard plastic, the sound is more apparent than with some other rifles’. I put another mag into this neat looking new ‘Black Rifle’ I’d just been handed to try, pulled the cocking handle back again *Ka-CHK* and clicked the Selector to Auto. BaDaBoomBaDaBing!!! Whoa… This Canuk Reservist was totally chagrined. Ripped another clip, half-turned around to our Chief Warrant and bellowed ‘I WANT ONE’!!! Not surprisingly, I’ve had an unabashed soft spot for the venerable M-16A1 ever since..

Graybeard

One of the most annoying things is that buffer spring.

But when it is a sound that is the most irksome thing about shooting a rifle, there’s not a lot to gripe about.

Dad’s old full-stock Springfield 30-06 kicked some, but that weight helped control it. Baby brother got that one – too bad about the boating accident.

Fyrfighter

Some of the flat springs have a bit less twang to them, and the captured ones have almost none.. but they’re a bit spendy

Roh-Dog

I’ve got a JP Enterprise Silent Captured Spring H2 in the suppressed 12.5” AR. At $180 it was worth every penny.

It’s one of those things you try once and you’ll know, so be careful with the credit card.

(The buffer retainer pin got mangled up due to H2+ buffer and the can. The BRP’s hole was slightly out of spec. The JPE Captured was the ‘easiest’ fix as I didn’t have to; get a pin and spring, loosen the extension tube, shim something, etc…)

MI Ranger

My first experience with the M-16 was with a .22 adapter on the University of Texas indoor range (right next to the ROTC building). Didn’t really notice the spring sound, but it was more fun to shoot than the target rifles (bolt action…also .22 or air rifle).
When I finally got to shoot a “real” M-16 at OSUT at the Benning School for wayward boys I heard the buffer spring and figured they gave me an old one, that needed lots of grease. I still cringe every time I hear dry spring sound!

Roh-Dog

JP Enterprise Captured Spring. (see above)
The .22 LR conversion adapters use their own recoil spring located in the bolt carrier group assembly.

Ret_25X

you know, in my career I literally fired thousands of rounds from M16 rifles and variants.

Not ONCE did I consider the sound or feel of it as anything other than…well…mild…

I recommend a Testosterone treatment plan for this wussy coupled with a job in construction or mining to toughen him up some.

Because, wow.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight

“Testosterone treatment plan”?
First, “he” needs to prove that “he’s” a male, with a suitably acceptable set of balls. For all we know, “he” might have a mangina.
So…no balls, not a male. Not a male, why waste the time, money, effort, and hormones on something that will never change, and would not appreciate the effort on “his” behalf?

no doubt he is a mangina! Full of sand I imagine as well.

But if he is claiming to be male and has this response to the low decibel report of an AR 15, he has been drinking way too much soy and is in need of testosterone stat.

On the other hand, perhaps if gets none he won’t produce a soy baby to replace himself…

Now there is a win- win

ChipNASA

I don’t specifically remember but the first/last time ( as USAFRetired also remembers) I shot an M-16, I remember a distinct “TWANGGGG” in my ear.
I fired a few dozen times since then AND I may or may not remember getting a little erect (sorry ladies).
Since then, I’ve fired a .22, crack, that may have been lower than my ear area, a variety of 9mms, Pow, ohhh I may have felt a significant twinge, a semi-auto 12ga, with slugs, BOOM, and a definite stiffness afterwards, my AR-15, a bunch, BangbBangBang, and considerable arching, my 45 ACP, POW!, ohhhh, noticeable rigidity, and yesterday, a Bren 2 Ms Pistol, “PAP PAP PAP PAP PAP PAP” and I know I downright had a boner.
So, in conclusion, I think there’s a pattern here.
😁😄👆🔫💪🏻

(Sorry about the bold, I think I had a problem closing something) 😂

I hope she had some ear plugs down in her auditory canal or else she’ll end up like me deaf as a post. Too be honest I don’t know if it was misspent youth shooting or too much time in the company of turbine engines. I love the smell of JP-4/JP-8 and W-231 in the morning.

Guns, amplified rock, race cars…say again? (Wife says that may be the phrase I say most.)

USAFRetired

I have a cousin, the only member of my generation of the family outside my siblings who served in the military. He did a six year hitch in the Navy five of it on sea duty on an FFG as a Gas turbine man separating as a 1st Class PO GSM-1. Post Navy he got his doctor to put it in writing that the dead spot in his hearing overlaps the frequency range of your typical adult female voice. I have dead spots at 400Hz (background noise of aircraft intercom systems) 1000Hz crypto alarm tones on same intercom systems. Both documented. I keep telling my wife and daughter that I also have one in the same range as their voices. I think my wife finally believes me but my teenage daughter doesn’t buy it as while I can’t hear her voice I can hear her eyes rolling while I’m driving. In the early 90s there was a problem where a bunch of AWACS guys were getting grounded on their annual physicals. An fairly F-16 pilot had died from a brain tumor. As part of the records post-mortem they noticed he had asymetrical hearing loss where there was significant differences between his ears. They concluded that if they had picked up on it sooner they could have treated him successfully. So the TAC/ACC Surgeon General put out a special interest item to look for differences in hearing between the hemispheres. Wonder of wonders a whole bunch of AWACS field graders and senior NCO displayed this problem and immediately were grounded so that additional testing and screenings could be done to make sure they didn’t have tumors. They didn’t find any tumors. I told my squadron flight surgeon it made sense. He wanted to know why I said that. I told him to think back to when he flew on the jet. How many console operators had he seen with only one of the earphones over an ear? He said almost all of them. After a bit further research they figured out the differences could be isolated to which ear folks /covered/uncovered… Read more »

I’m surprised she didn’t come out with a good ol’ Southern, “really? well bless his heart”.

I want some range time.

Those who believe idiots like that deserve to be ignorant. (Like those who still believe the CDC)

My 7-year-old daughter got her first AR trigger time week before last. Neurotic pussies do not impress me.

Ah hell I have an AR15 done up like an M16A2, and I’m currently building an AR up like the USAF 604 M16 (No forward assist, no shell deflector, Type D buttstock).

The wimp would be wetting his pants more, with the brass coming at him from that one.

Got plenty of bigger caliber guns for this idiot….

7.62×54
7.62×38
7.62×39
7.62×25
8mm
3006
7mm
7.7 Japanese
6.5 Japanese
7.5 French
303 British
577 Enfield
43 Egyptian
41 Swiss
Etc…..

Maybe these will give him death by heart attack….and rid us of his man-less-ness!

M1903A3 Springfield. .30-06 bolt action weighing only 8 3/4 pounds. That recoil will put some hair on your balls!

Or he could just fire out an M1 Garand and get PTSD from the clip ejecting (Ping!).

26Limabeans

triple four Marlin lever gun. Ouch!

Jay

My father in law custom built a .375 Magnum off an old Mauser frame. He makes his own “hot loads” to hunt bear with. Now THAT thing will rattle your fillings loose!

rgr769

This clown should shoot a Mauser K98 in 8mm, the basic rifle of the German army in both WWI and II. I first shot one after my return from the Viet of the Nam, where I carried an M-16, an XM-177, and an underfolder AK-47. When I shot the K98, I was shocked with the recoil. Getting hammered with that steel buttplate made it extremely uncomfortable to shoot compared with our modern military rifles.

The writer should stick to needlepoint, an activity that won’t cause his panties to get all bunched up in his mangina.

Mike B USAF Retired

I have a K98k, Gew 88, 3 Yugo Mausers, Turk Mauser, and maybe a few other Mausers in 8mm. He’d have a brusied shoulder and wet man-panties when he’s done shooting all them.

M44 Mosin-Nagant (chopped down 91/93). OUCH! on the shoulder, with a fireball out to -there-.

Got 3 of them bad boys, love fireballs on them when it starts to get dark…..

I just noticed 7.5 Swiss isn’t on there. Please do consider it added.

The K31 is my favorite surplus bolt action rifle so I had to…

It is “stunning and brave” for the newspaper to run this opinion piece, and close down comments from readers. The writer should stick to eating his Ben & Jerry’s Hubby Hubby Ice Cream.

So, this guy successfully ID’d one more thing he has no interest in doing? Wonderful. AND he’s so self-absorbed that he felt compelled to share his opinion with the world.

Ain’t that special.

Maybe not.

Wearing his “shirt sleeves and trucker cap”….reminds me of Steve Buscemi in 30 Rock. He TRIES to fit the part, but just looks WRONG.

In his defense he says it’s an HK, from the article pic a SCAR, and the SCAR-17 in 7.62 is attention-getting indoors. If the 5.56, not so much.

Another fun one is a .45-70 running a 405 gr bullet at about 2000fps from a 7 pound lever action. You know when you trip that one off.

I read the Seven Days article this puss wrote. I am not surprised the publication shut down and removed the reader comments on his article. I would like to see a shoot-off and crying competition between Kuntzman and this soy boy.

Sandman

My 5 years with the 160th as an Armament guy / door gunner on Chinooks I definitely loved firing the M134 mini gun! 7.62mm 2000 rounds per minute low rate, 4000 rounds per minute high rate. I sported wood each time!

The Stranger

I fired a HMMWV mounted mini gun, along with other Special Forces toys back in ‘09 as a thank you for some construction projects my Engineer unit had done. I’m assuming it’s the same one you’re referring to. It was something else.
