Seven arrested outside police union hall during campaign-flyer protest that included pig heads

Used to be people were smart enough to break the law anywhere except directly in front of a cop…

Seven people were arrested Saturday night during a protest outside the Omaha police union hall that included leaving three pig heads in costume police caps on the grounds.

An Omaha police spokesman said pending charges include trespassing, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct, obstructing, littering and unlawful assembly. Social media posts by some who attended the protest said all of the arrestees, including Alexander “Bear” Matthews, were bailed out of jail early Sunday.

Matthews, 24, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer, disorderly conduct, trespassing, inciting a riot and failure to disperse. Matthews’ former group, ProBLAC Omaha, has helped put together several rallies in support of Black Lives Matter and other social justice issues.

The incident occurred after a gathering organized by the Revolutionary Action Party in Montclair Park, 2304 S. 135th St., that started at 7 p.m. Speakers at the gathering, which was described as a “pig roast,” condemned the Omaha Police Officers Association and its president, Anthony Conner, for distributing a flyer targeting independent City Council candidate Cammy Watkins as being anti-police.

Watkins later lost the election to Democrat Danny Begley, who disavowed knowledge of the flyers. Speakers at the rally also attacked Begley and the Nebraska Democratic Party for not doing enough in response to the flyers.

Matthews said the pig roast in the park went well, with people enjoying typical picnic food, including roast pork. After a series of speakers, the group headed over to the union hall to leave copies of the Watkins flyers and the heads of three pigs that they had gotten from a packinghouse worker.

“Everything was beautiful, we were grilling out, and it was just a typical cookout,” Matthews said. “We wanted to finish up by dropping off the pig heads and the flyers at the union doors.”

None of the protesters who were arrested were injured, Matthews said. Everyone was out of jail by 4 a.m., he said.

An Omaha police spokesman said that about 8:50 p.m., a crowd of 40 to 50 people left the grounds of the park and marched a short distance to the union hall near 134th Street and West Center Road. Several social media posts show some marchers carrying real heads of pigs.

The pig heads and some of the union’s flyers criticizing Watkins were left outside the union hall. Members of the group spoke over megaphones for about 20 minutes to the crowd outside the union hall, police said.

Social media video shows several police cruisers pulling into the north parking lot during a speech. Protesters appear to line the sidewalk as police stand by their cruisers.

Police said four announcements were made over a 10-minute period, telling the protesters that they were trespassing on private property and must leave. A command officer, police said, declared an unlawful assembly at 9:10 p.m. and ordered the protesters to leave.

The police spokesman said, “Officers then moved in to arrest instigators and the crowd fled westbound towards the park” or stood in the street, refusing to move. Officers identified instigators who were subsequently arrested at Montclair Park.

Feeling blue: drug dealer’s ‘love of stilton’ leads to his arrest

As Chester Cheetah says, “It ain’t easy to be cheesy!”

A drug dealer’s “love of stilton” has been credited for his downfall after police were able to identify him from a photo of his hands holding a block of cheese.

Carl Stewart, 39, was identified after he shared the photo on the encrypted messaging service EncroChat, from which police were able to analyse his fingerprints.

Stewart, of Gem Street, Liverpool, was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison at Liverpool crown court on Friday after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine, heroin, MDMA and ketamine, as well as transferring criminal property.

Stewart used EncroChat to supply large amounts of class A and B drugs under the online pseudonym “Toffeeforce”, a reference to the Everton football club.

According to the National Crime Agency, EncroChat was used “exclusively by criminals” to carry out criminal activity including drug and weapons dealing, as well as money laundering. About 60,000 users of EncroChat have been identified worldwide, with about 10,000 of them in the UK.

Stewart is not the first British criminal to be identified from a picture of his hands. In 2010, Stephen Taylor was sentenced to 10 months for handling stolen goods after officers found a photograph on his phone of him holding rare, stolen watches.

Forensics officers enhanced the image, which allowed a fingerprint specialist to identify Taylor from the ridges in his hands.

In 2018, South Wales police secured 11 convictions after an image of a man holding ecstasy tablets in his palm were sent out to potential customers by a dealer in Bridgend.

DI Lee Wilkinson said: “Carl Stewart was involved in supplying large amounts of class A and B drugs, but was caught out by his love of stilton cheese, after sharing a picture of a block of it in his hand through EncroChat. His palm and fingerprints were analysed from this picture and it was established they belonged to Stewart.”

California recon Marine charged with dumping thousands of rounds of stolen ammo, grenades

This one came in from Jeff LPH 3

A Marine sergeant with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, stationed on Camp Pendleton, California, has been charged with dumping thousands of rounds of ammunition into a California ravine.

Marine Sgt. Gunnar Naughton, 28, a recon Marine, has been referred to a general court-martial for the unlawful dumping the ammunition, along with two specifications of obstruction of justice, one count of dereliction in the performance of duties, one charge of larceny and one specification of Article 134, commonly known as the general article.

The court-martial will kick off July 1, Marine spokesman 2nd Lt. Kyle McGuire told Marine Corps Times in a Tuesday evening email.

The Marine is currently being held in the brig at Camp Pendleton, California.

The Marine was arrested as part of a sting by federal agents, which allegedly caught Marines trying to sell ammunition and explosives online, ABC News San Diego first reported in March.

In total, Naughton has been charged with dumping 3,724 cartridges of 5.56 ammunition with a value of about $1,079; 6,000 cartridges of .45 caliber ammunition with a value of about $2,04;, 1,826 cartridges of 9 mm ball ammunition with a value of about $401; 120 cartridges of 12 gauge ammunition with a value of about $60; 160 cartridges of 12 gauge door breaching ammunition with a value of about $350; 80 cartridges of frangible 5.56 ammunition with a value of about $31; 200 cartridges of 9 mm hollow point ammunition with a value of about $70; two grenades and one smoke grenade, according to the charge sheet.

In addition to the ammunition dumping, Naughton is accused of stealing roughly 840 5.56 rounds on “divers occasions between on or about 1 November, 2020 and on or about 3 February, 2021,” the charge sheet read.

Naughton allegedly removed ammo cans from the residence of a staff sergeant “with intent to obstruct the due administration of justice in the case” of a corporal whose name was redacted in the charge sheet.

Naughton is also accused of telling a Navy petty officer 3rd class to delete conversations on Signal and WhatsApp that would be incriminating for the unnamed corporal.

The Corps originally accused Naughton of stealing a Beretta 9 mm pistol, but dismissed the charge without prejudice, according to the charge sheet.

Naughton enlisted in the Marine Corps out of Kansas in in 2015 and originally was assigned as a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defense specialist with the Marine incident response force in Indian Head, Maryland.

He joined the 1st Recon Battalion in November 2019, according to his service record.

Street prices for 5.56 are about .60/rd for name brand, 9mm runs about the same, and the .45 about .70/rd. That puts the street values at $2234.40, $1,215.60, and $4,200 respectively. Not a bad side hustle.

Atlanta ‘defund the police’ backer has car stolen — by kids in broad daylight: reports

This one got sent in by a few people and mentioned in at least one other thread this week. It’s worth re-posting.

An Atlanta city councilman – who is aiming to be the city’s next mayor – had his car stolen by children in broad daylight Wednesday, according to reports.

Councilman Antonio Brown was attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony at an event in northeast Atlanta around noon when at least four kids jumped into his car and took off, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.

“You don’t immediately think, ‘Oh, these kids are going to steal my car,’” Brown said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The incident occurred amid a recent crime wave in the city. Brown, who joined the city’s mayoral race less than three weeks ago, is running on a campaign of “reimagining public safety,” the paper reported.

Last year, he voted in support of an ordinance to withhold $73 million from the budget of the Atlanta Police Department. The ordinance was narrowly voted down.

Brown on Thursday denied to Fox News that he ever supported “defunding” police, but added, “I support reimagining public safety as I’ve always stated in every public and private conversation on this issue.”

Brown said the thieves jumped in his vehicle Wednesday after he got out to speak with community leader Ben Norman. He noted his white Mercedes-Benz coupe has keyless push-to-start ignition and he failed to realize it had been started, reports said.

The councilman described the kids as being between ages 6 and 12, FOX 5 reported.

“One kid was in the driver’s seat. Ben attempted to open the door to get him out of the car. He fought with Ben. I then engaged and tried to get him out of the car. The three other kids were trying to figure out how to get in the car or stay out of the car. He started to hit on the gas,” Brown said.

Brown added that he held on to the car in an attempt to stop them and was dragged about a block down the road before letting go.

“As he started to speed up, and I knew that if I had not let go, I knew I probably could have killed myself because he was going so fast, I would have started to tumble. And I would have hurt him,” the councilman said.

Brown doesn’t plan on filing charges against the kids, who he says acted out of desperation, Atlanta’s WSB-TV reported.

“This is a generational poverty issue. These kids, it’s 12:30 in the afternoon. Why aren’t they in school? Why aren’t we enforcing systems to ensure that if they are not in school, they’re in recreational centers?” he said.

Atlanta police are investigating.

Brown is under indictment on federal fraud charges related to alleged incidents that occurred in the years prior to him winning the council seat in 2019, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Neighbors discover county health officials providing needles to homeless campers on Seattle public school campus

“Drug free zone” has about the same meaning as “gun free zone” apparently.

While the Seattle Public Schools board refuse to remove a homeless encampment from the campus of Broadview-Thompson K-8 in Seattle, employees from the King County Department of Health continue to supply needles to addicts at the encampment.

Over the past nine months residents living next to Broadview-Thomson K-8 have been living with the impact of the unsanctioned encampment on the shoreline of Bitter Lake in North Seattle.

Neighbors told The Post Millennial that a woman died of an overdose at the encampment in February and that her body lay in the street for hours in almost the exact same spot where King County is now handing out hypodermic needles to other addicts residing in the encampment, less than 100ft from the playground of the school.

A neighbor told The Post Millennial, “the ‘drug free zone’ signs do not appear to be working.” Neighbors and school employees have witnessed campers using narcotics including methamphetamines and other “hard drugs” while school has been in session.

Students who returned to in person learning at Broadview Thomson K-8, on Greenwood Ave. last month for the first time in over a year found a homeless encampment with over 40 tents waiting for them on the campus.

On Tuesday at approximately 4 PM, neighbors witnessed vehicles from the King County Department of Health delivering fresh needles to the encampment. According to neighbors, 4-5 campers availed themselves of the service and exchanged various types of drug paraphernalia with the King County staff.

Residents of the neighborhood have also reported theft and ongoing drug issues in the community mostly populated by families and the elderly. Neighbors had previously photographed King County needle exchange vans near the property.

City officials and school board members have declined to meet with the group of neighbors, parents and employees who are seeking to address the encampments. In emails sent by neighbors and employees to The Post Millennial, Seattle School Board President Chandra Hampson and Director Zachary DeWolf demanded Mayor Jenny Durkan not allow the encampments to be removed from school grounds.

Rather than meeting with neighbors, the school board members met with the individuals residing in the encampment. Following the meeting, the president of the school PTA sent an email out to parents asking for donations to the encampment.

The following day, a man in the encampment was seen by the school’s security guard “with what appeared to be a firearm on the other side of the fence,” according to the school’s principal. At the time there were students outside the building. A chain link fence is all that separates the encampment from the school. The school went into their ‘shelter-in-place’ protocol.

The weapon turned out to be an airsoft pellet gun which one of the campers claimed he used to hunt rats. Dead rats have been seen in the encampment tied to sticks. Other weapons including swords have been spotted next to tents. The encampment is also located on a protected environmental area next to a lake, which residents say is being polluted by the campers. A city employee was threatened by a camper last week while collecting trash from the encampment.

Neighbors told The Post Millennial that the individual remains in the encampment. Parents flooded the school with emails demanding to know why the encampment was allowed to remain. The parent body of the school includes a large number of immigrants families.

Police took almost one hour to respond to the call. SPS opted to provide on campus security for the school rather than remove the encampment, following a decision in June of 2020 to officially suspended their partnership with the Seattle Police Department in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

Hampson and DeWolf published a joint statement condemning any potential removal of encampments from school property or anywhere else in the city “We demand sweeps NEVER be performed on school grounds, adjacent or elsewhere in this City.” Meanwhile, SPS superintendent Denise Juneau admitted in an email to neighbors obtained by The Post Millennial that “We realize people living unsheltered in encampments can create health and safety hazards for their occupants and the general public.”

King County staff members operating the exchange allegedly told an inquisitive neighbor, who documented the activity for a neighborhood Facebook group, that there is no set schedule for the county’s visits to the encampment.

Federal Way, just south of Seattle, recently instructed the county to pause the activities of needle exchange vans that were setting up in local parking lot and Park N Ride locations without the knowledge of city officials.

[“You don’t immediately think, ‘Oh, these kids are going to steal my car,’” Brown said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.]

Yeah, cuz that would be raciss.

“This is a generational poverty issue. These kids, it’s 12:30 in the afternoon. Why aren’t they in school? Why aren’t we enforcing systems to ensure that if they are not in school, they’re in recreational centers?” he said.

See, they weren’t in school because school was out. And they weren’t in a rec center because it is a free country and they wanted to steal a car instead.

Since the “kids” aren’t being charged when we are talking about “Stupid criminal of the week” we are talking about the councilman…

So when are the adults in Seattle going to say, “enough is enough”, and take matters into their own hands, instead of waiting for the “authoritahs” to do what’s right.
I understand fire is good for cleaning up certain messes and getting rid of vermin.

Within the past 2 weeks at that Seattle Elementary School the school went into lockdown when a homeless man was seen walking the halls. Another incident was an unidentified homeless camp resident with a bow shot an arrow through a neighboring homeowners window screen where it lodged in an inside wall.

As for the needle “exchange” the Seattle Health Department used to park in a nearby off-campus parking lot to dole out their 100-count boxes of needles to anybody who wants them, without requiring returning ANY used needles in exchange. With many people returning to work, parking is scarce so they resorted to passing out needles on school grounds.

Docduracoat

This why they want the citizens to be disarmed.
So homeless persons can shoot arrows at you and you can’t shoot back.
So they can put homeless encampments in your neighborhood schools.
Who knows what oppression the school board plans next.
Eventually it will be bad enough that these sheeple will fight back.

Why wasn’t Sleepy Joe listed this week?
