Mossberg Tactical

Home Invasion, Assault

In Kansas, 27-year-old Zachary Hornya broke into a home in Great Bend and began physically assaulting the homeowners, according to police.

Details are still sparse, but during the course of the altercation Hornya was shot in the face. Officers were called to reports of a disturbance, and they found Hornya still inside the home.

Hornya was transported to KU Med Great Bend, where he was flown by Eagle Med to Wichita. He has been released from the hospital, but his wound is still considered critical due to its location, according to local media.

The case has been submitted to the county attorney for possible prosecution, and Detective Heather Smith told local media that she anticipates an arrest warrant will be served “depending on his condition.”

It is still unclear why Hornya entered the residence or why he assaulted the homeowners. Reports so far haven’t indicated whether or not he had a firearm, and there’s been no word about prosecution of the homeowner.

SELF-DEFENSE: NO CHARGES AFTER FATAL SHOOTING IN KROGER PARKING LOT THAT LEFT SCHOOL PROTECTION OFFICER DEAD

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – No charges will be filed after a self-defense shooting at a Vigo County grocery store last month.

It happened on July, 29 at Kroger in southern Vigo County. Officials say Otis Parks shot Sean Martin two times, in self-defense.

Here’s what happened.

The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office says Parks gave a statement saying Martin started following him on 7th Street and began driving around him aggressively.

Parks said he pulled into the back entrance to the Kroger parking lot, and Martin quickly turned in, going across traffic to follow.

Martin stopped in the lane right behind his parked car. Parks, a legal gun owner, said he took a handgun out of his glove box and got out of his car, keeping the gun at his side.

Parks told investigators he asked Martin “What’s your problem, man?” That’s when Martin reportedly grabbed Parks by the neck. Parks then shot Martin twice and called 911.

Witnesses and surveillance video helped confirm most of Parks’ report.

In the surveillance video, investigators could see Martin hit a sign while he tried to follow Parks.

Martin was a school protection officer with the Vigo County School Corporation.

Federal appeals court strikes down California’s ban on high-capacity magazines, says restrictions violate 2nd Amendment
‘It criminalizes the possession of half of all magazines in America today,’ court majority says in ruling

By Adam Shaw, Bill Mears
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday struck down California’s ban on high-capacity magazines on the basis that its restrictions violate the Second Amendment — noting that it would criminalize half the magazines in the U.S.

The state’s law bans possession of large-capacity magazines (LCMs) that hold more than 10 rounds. The court’s three-judge panel said that while the law has a “laudable goal of reducing gun violence,” it must also comply with the Constitution.

“California’s near-categorical ban of LCMs infringes on the fundamental right to self-defense. It criminalizes the possession of half of all magazines in America today,” the majority in the 2-1 ruling stated.

“It makes unlawful magazines that are commonly used in handguns by law abiding citizens for self-defense. And it substantially burdens the core right of self-defense guaranteed to the people under the Second Amendment,” Judge Kenneth Lee wrote in the majority opinion. “It cannot stand.”

Lee said that while the law was passed “in the wake of heart-wrenching and highly publicized mass shootings” the law was too sweeping.

It upholds a 2017 ruling by San Diego-based U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who blocked a new law that would have barred gun owners from possessing magazines holding more than 10 bullets.

California can now seek a delay, or ask for a Supreme Court review of the decision. And doubtless will, but it is another step in the right direction.

The Ninth Circuit shot a Gun Control Law down, I so love the sound of snowflakes’ heads exploding!

unless they are playing the long game and are forcing the case so the Supreme Court has to rule. Many courts have held for SCM bans; it is not open and shut as far as precedents are concerned.

“The Mossberg 500 Tactical is one of the best home defense shotgun you can get in the market today”.

Try and find any defense shotgun “today”.
Or the ammo to ward off the savages.
I would say “arm up” America but apparently America has
already “armed up” quite a bit recently.

Thanks to Obama, many people have been “armed up” for
years and this recent problem is for “newbies” and liberals.

I’m thinking that the Vigo County shooting is over a female.

Playing a little catch up FIRST thing this morning. That is the accounting I’m giving of myself for being late.

No, dumbazz, this is NOT Bend, Oregon, this is Great Bend, Kansas. Folks DON’T like lawbreakers here. Hedley Lamar…”Not in the face!” Homeowner…BAM!!! “Get your face out of my place!”

And NO, that WAS NOT me that kilt old boy in the K Roger parking lot. Haven’t made it that far up Hwy 41, tho I am a Ramblin’ Man. May have to go to the semi local one today or tomorrow. They still got that deal on Breyers Ice Cream and I’m down to only 7 cartons. The parking lot death will go down as COVID19 related, per the High Sheriff, “..the stress caused by the COVID19 has people on edge…” GMAFB! How about :…teh stoopidity of teh dumbasses…”

I have been at that Waffle House in Columbia. That was a sketchy area 20+ years ago and I’m sure it has only gotten sketchier. Claw, you may need to spin up the Whiz Wheel for Jamal and Kenji. They are good boys, had found Jesus, and were just looking to get some money for choir robes and night school books.

I remember the large capacity magazines we had behind the smoke house and barn. Helped to explain why the pretty girls were generally skinny. That staple in their belly button kept them from eating too much.

My Mossy Maverick can cook your goose and put you on ice man. Don’t put yourself in the danger zone.

There is another legal option for Commiefornia, they can request an en banc hearing of all the Ninth Circus justices, just like Judge Sullivan did in the Flynn case.
