Easter is more than just Easter Sunday; it is a 50-day long liturgical season (Eastertide). Here is a breakdown of major events during the Easter season for 2020.<\/p>\n<p>April 12: Easter Sunday (first day of Easter).<br \/>\nApril 12-19: Easter Octave (first eight days of Easter).<br \/>\nApril 19: Octave of Easter (eighth day of Easter).<br \/>\nMay 21: Jesus ascends into Heaven (40th day of Easter).<br \/>\nMay 31: Pentecost (50th day of Easter).<\/p>\n<p>Easter Octave is the first eight days of Easter. Each day is celebrated, by the church, as if it was the first day of Easter. The Octave of Easter celebrates Jesus interacting with the apostles a week after he resurrected.
