One in particular is referred to as the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.armystudyguide.com\/content\/cadence\/marching_cadence\/my-girls-a-vegetable.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vegetable Cadence<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, I thought it was kind of funny back when I first heard it,\u201d says Andreesen, \u201cbut that was before I met Sarah. She\u2019s my dream girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sarah is Andreesen\u2019s wife of three years \u2014 who miraculously survived a car crash last year despite losing all her arms and legs and putting her into a coma.<\/p>\n<p>As he runs along with his squad, Andreesen\u00a0wearily waits for it to come up. Sgt. Wilton Chambers leads the cadence, shouting \u201cLeft right ley-o\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Corporal happily repeats it back with the rest of his squad, but then his fears are realized at the Sergeant\u2019s next verse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy girl\u2019s a vegetable, she lives in a hospital \u2026 but I would do anything \u2026 to keep that bitch alive, yeah!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Corporal Andreesen says that \u201cthe first half isn\u2019t terrible\u201d, but he repeats the rest back amid tears and sweat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s got her own TV and it\u2019s called an EKG!\u201d barks Sergeant Chambers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean seriously. This is fucked up. They all know about Sarah,\u201d says Andreesen. \u201cYeah, so she has no arms and legs but I mean, I\u2019ve never pulled the plug to watch her choke. I love her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Marines in the squad say that they\u2019ve found the \u201cchink in his armor\u201d and just continue to attack it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re in the infantry. We talk shit.
