{"id":70352,"date":"2017-02-15T08:00:39","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T13:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=70352"},"modified":"2017-02-14T19:17:26","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T00:17:26","slug":"another-one-bites-the-dust-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=70352","title":{"rendered":"Another One Bites The Dust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve written multiple times previously on the problems inherent in that \u201cwonderful\u201d law called the \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Puerile, Pathetic, and Abominable Collection of Asininity<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, AKA \u201cObamaCare\u201d.\u00a0 Short version:\u00a0 totally stupid idea, ignores basic economic realities, and is completely unaffordable.<\/p>\n<p>Well, for that \u201cwonderful\u201d law . . . \u201cthe hits just keep on coming\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2017\/02\/14\/humana-to-leave-obamacare-exchanges-next-year.html\">Humana announced that it will withdraw from ObamaCare health insurance exchanges next year<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 That&#8217;s assuming, of course, that those exchanges still exist next year.<\/p>\n<p>Why?\u00a0 Simple.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Insurance companies exist to make money<\/span>.\u00a0 Requiring immediate coverage of preexisting conditions makes that virtually impossible \u2013 because making money under those conditions requires premiums so high that they\u2019re unaffordable. \u00a0\u00a0That leaves insurers two choices:\u00a0 leave the market . . . or lose money.\u00a0 And if they lose enough money, they go bankrupt.<\/p>\n<p>All of this was completely predictable.\u00a0 Well, it was to anyone with a functional understanding of real-world economics.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully the current Administration and Congress will euthanize the ignorant economic abomination called ObamaCare before Humana acts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve written multiple times previously on the problems inherent in that \u201cwonderful\u201d law called the \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Puerile, Pathetic, and Abominable Collection of Asininity\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, AKA \u201cObamaCare\u201d.\u00a0 Short version:\u00a0 totally stupid idea, ignores basic economic realities, and is completely unaffordable.
