The Army Times<\/a> reports that William Earl Cunningham<\/a>, the jump-qualified carpenter who killed Nathan Horn over whose branch of military service was better, was sentenced to 80 years in prison yesterday in Montana;<\/p>\n

Cunningham claimed he acted in self-defense when he slashed Horn’s throat. The men were arguing over whether the Army or Marines is the better branch of the military.<\/p>\n

At the sentencing Cunningham told the family he prays for them to have peace and comfort and told them he was sorry Horn had died.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cunningham did two tours of honorable service as a carpenter and a driver;<\/p>\n
