The homeowner, Phillip Smith, fired a shot at the intruder but missed. Police say Montgomery ran away. Both Smith and his daughter called 911. Springfield Township officers used a police dog to track to sniff out a trail. They later found and arrested Montgomery at Glenwood Gardens. Police had responded there because of an intrusion alarm.
