This morning’s story comes from South Carolina<\/a> where homeowner Woody Way returned home at about 9 am and found someone breaking into his house;<\/p>\n

The man then fired several shots at the intruder, but he took off running, according to deputies.<\/p>\n

Deputies said the homeowner was not sure if the suspect had been shot.<\/p>\n

Officers were still out searching for the man about 11 a.m. in the area of Dyar Road.<\/p>\n

Deputies have not released any other information.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Poetrooper sends us a link to The Blaze<\/a> which warns criminals to stay away from 84-year-old Marines, too, especially Albuquerque veteran “Tom”;<\/p>\n

The 84-year-old said the incident \u2014 it was not clear exactly what day it took place \u2014 started when he was woken up staring straight into the barrel of a gun.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t no small one you put in a purse,\u201d Tom told KOAT-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But the former Marine Corps veteran wasn\u2019t willing to go down without a fight. When one of the intruders tried to choke him with a radio cord, Tom fought back and hit him below the belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just took my fists and cause he\u2019s right at my height if I\u2019m kneeling on the floor and he\u2019s standing right at the height for the groin,\u201d Tom recalled.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
