The folks at <a href=\"http:\/\/pownetwork.org\/phonies\/phonies528.htm\">POW Net have been trying to identify<\/a> her and asked for our help. If you scroll down the page at POW Net, you&#8217;ll see that members of the MCL are real defensive about her and they say that she is the first female Marine helicopter pilot.<\/p>\n<p>Well, that&#8217;s not true &#8211; the first female Marine helicopter pilot was (then Captain, now Lieutenant Colonel) <a href=\"http:\/\/officer.marines.com\/marine\/winning_battles\/marine_corps_history\/sarah_deal_burrow\">Sarah Deal in 1995.<\/a> The woman in the picture has Vietnam service medals &#8211; more than two decades before Sarah Deal earned her wings.<\/p>\n<p>The folks in Hardware City seem reluctant to clear this up, so we&#8217;re more than willing to do it ourselves, but we need your help getting a name.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The above-pictured person is a member of the Marine Corps League Post in Hardware City, Connecticut.
